Terrible Product and Worse Customer Service

The TV suddenly started turning on and off randomly (which seems to now be a consistent theme based on other recent reviews). Sony customer service has been simply atrocious! I tried the troubleshooting steps, which didn't work - fine. So they said they'd repair the product. It's now taken them >3 weeks to have a repair provider schedule with a replacement part to potentially fix the issue. After calling Sony and escalating, their response was that these issues are not a manufacturer problem and there's nothing else they can do at the moment... I would love to get this issue resolved soon, but it seems like a solution is still a long wait away...

Don't like black colors

Dark scenes are very dark & hard to make out the details. The blacks are not true blacks, they are more of a greenish/black smudge. Not happy with picture, but too late to return.

120Hz is virtually unusable on PC

In price:performance ratio there was no real competition for it. That ended the day the update that finally enabled 4K 120Hz was pushed to my TV. At 120Hz - at every resolution (1080p, 1440p, 4K), on my 3080 GPU, this TV is a blurred mess. In desktop use, and in game, text and fine details are noticeably blurred. According to HDTVTest, Sony claims that this is intentional, although whether this is because the TV has some sort of hardware limitation that prevents it from outputting correctly at native resolutions at 120Hz, or a design choice to add some sort of image processing algorithm that effectively ruins clarity and visual fidelity at the expense of motion, they didn't say. Everything looks fine at 60Hz, but 120Hz is unusable, making the TV a complete waste of money for PC use, potentially for next gen consoles as well.

I purchased this TV last year (2020) and was promised VRR and 4k at 120hz. Neither of these are working. Look up this best buy ad on the Internet Wayback Machine and you will see they have changed the description for this TV. Do not buy if you are expecting VRR and 4k@120 to work. Also, best buy removed a previous review of this TV so take any positive reviews with a grain of salt as they are censored.

Remote Problems

Thought by buying 5 year coverage, BB would be all over me trying to get it corrected, instead, I've had to get a remote replacement, it was the wrong one, a universal one, and it would not even work, a replaced Sony remote that I bought, did not work. Now I've got to wait on BB to send TV people out here to find out that its the TV, then hopefully, I can get a new TV or whatever. I've been working with this for 2 weeks and I know theres at least one more week if not more b4 its corrected.

Very buggy - buyer beware

For most casual users this is a good TV, but for the people this was specifically marketed to as being ready for a PS5 and for next-gen features, this was generally a lie and Sony has not been transparent with their patch roadmap, or if these will be resolved at all.

Terrible TV and terrible support from Sony

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I barely had this TV for a month, and every time I turn on the TV after being shut down for a bit, the android OS reboots the TV. This happens at least once a day (usually the first time I turn it on from waking up). I am extremely disappointed as I am trying to get support through Sony. The only support they provide is via chat (no live person on the phone to talk to) and all they tell you is to hard factory reset the TV. I would stay away from this TV, or any other Sony branded TV due to the terrible support they provide.

Tv always freezes , I tried connecting directly to Ethernet and direct to wifi . No difference . Such high reviews, for such a bad built tv. Especially coming from a Sony tv .

Sony Lied

After buying this TV i feel lied to and cheated since these features were advertised or promised to work.

Buy with caution.

On going problem after two months sony is still trying to figure out what is going on with the tv. The audio goes out at least everyday. Which results in having to restart the OS on the tv to get audio back. I have factory reset the tv twice goes away for a week but then comes back. Beside that the tv is great as to way I m putting up with it. Until they fix this problem I can give it 5 stars.
