Bought 9/4/2020. No picture 11/26/2020. Sony seems to be junk anymore.

Great picture and good sound. Would buy again and more for other rooms in the house. One issue observed over time was voice prompt on remote stopped working but was a little know feature.

Lets get the good stuff out of the way first. Regarding overall picture quality, this is the best TV I've ever owned. Colors are accurate without being over-saturated. I'm not someone who wants to pay to have my TV calibrated and I don't think you really have to worry about that with this TV. I was worried about contrast but its pretty good and I have not noticed any blooming. Motion scenes / motion handling is great. I've always heard Sony has some of the best processing and upscaling around and that appears to be the case just from what I've seen using this TV. I also really like android TV, which for me is an upgrade over Roku TV. Thankfully you get an actual real remote with this TV. Overall build quality is really solid. Its just easy to tell the difference coming from cheaper TVs. It also looks really nice, if that matters to you. Now onto the negatives and the main reason I wanted to write this review. This TV was advertised to have the features needed for the next-gen consoles - 4k @ 120 hz display mode, and VRR. Well it turns out the TV is not really capable of displaying 4k at 120hz. In a nutshell the TV is not producing a true 4k image. Instead of displaying 3840 x 2160 at 120hz its only calculating half the vertical resolution (1080), then upscaling it to true 4k. Sony has been releasing firmware updates that have helped some, but picture resolution at 120hz is degraded compared to 60h. Its especially noticeable on text and if you are using the TV as a computer monitor. Basically certain things just look less sharp and kinda fuzzy. And sadly its starting to look more and more like this is a hardware limitation that is not going to be fixed. Sony's firmware updates have also introduced other issues, I had sound dropping out on my PS4 all the time, before I finally figured out how to "fix" it by playing with a bunch of settings. I've also had random black screens I can only get out of by doing a hard restart. Other people are reporting even more serious issues. Meanwhile Sony support had been nothing but dodgy and can't give real answers on what else they are going to do about this. VRR is still not ready on this TV, and is promised for next spring. But the way Sony has handled this TV so far I'm wondering if it will ever work. This TV feels like a product that was brought to market too soon. Sony wanted to capitalize on the holiday buying season, and the release of the PS5 and I get that. But you shouldn't release a broken product and then promise it will be fixed half a year later. Sony's marketing for this TV, at this point, feels completely dishonest. This TV wasn't ready. And I hate to say this but this whole experience has damaged my perception of the Sony brand's reliability. I expect to roll the dice a little when I buy a bargain TV, but I didn't expect this from Sony. Right now I wouldn't recommend this TV to a friend. Not just because of the broken features that may never work, but because of all the firmware bugs. I never thought I'd return a Sony TV for something like a TCL but I'm considering doing that because as far as I can tell everything TCL promised on their r635 actually works. This TV has exceptional overall picture quality, like I said. Its too bad Sony's behavior has marred what is otherwise a really great product.

I actually have the Sony X90CH that's sold by Sam's club and Costco but is the same TV as the x900h. So far this TV has been great. The upscaling is fantastic! I've watch stuff on sling TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc..... All look great. Viewing is great in a bright room as well as dark. Inky blacks. Video games on my Xbox one S look fantastic as well. I'm looking forward to the ps5..... One of the reasons I wanted this TV with the HDMI 2.1 ports. If you buy at Sam's club you get a 3 year factory warranty included. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal tv. Updates make it better each time. Sony always puts out a solid product.

Great tv over all. Biggest complaint worth noting is that it’s a little bit on the dimmer side so if you plan to put it in the sunniest room in the house, maybe opt for a brighter tv. I have had this since 2020…now that i have had this for 4 years, I am very satisfied with my purchase and it works the same as the day i bought it.

Over 4 years later and it’s still holding like a new tv the constant updates that it receives helps it stay up to date with everything.
