    Amazing picture, but broken promises

    Have to say for the price the TV was an amazing deal and does look amazing in everything I can throw at it, so Sony's default colors and settings are as what you'd expect from a Sony of being awesome and ready to go out of the box! That birngs me to the broken promise and my biggest disappointment in this TV, those features are VRR/ALLM which was HEAVILY marketed by Sony as being fully supported and ready to be used with PS5. Both were lies and almost 18 months later they're just NOW talking about adding it in a firmware update after pushing it back multiple times which is unacceptable. The new Sony models don't even fully support this and I feel like I was part of a bait and switch, I could have spent a few hundred more and got a 65 inch LG OLED instead which had these features. I was going to give it 1 stars, but the picture quality is so good that I have to give it at least 3.

    I purchased this tv on 8/16/20 I'll start off by saying that this is my first lcd tv. I own 3 of the best plasma displays made. 2 Pioneer Kuros. 151fd and a 600 m. Also have a Panasonic zt60. I wanted to upgrade to something 4k. I decided I didn't want to play the panel lotto with the cheaper brands, so I decided on the x900h in 65". Sony has always been good to me in the past. The biggest difference with plasma and this led it the black levels. There's blooming as there is with any lcd. I noticed the blooming right away. I only really notice it when there's a dark scene with something really bright going on at the same time. Subtitles are a big culprit. This set could've definitely benefited from more dimming zones. If your not sensitive to blooming you might never notice. The wife doesn't see it even it i try and point it out to her. The picture is still very good. Hdr looks great. Sdr is good as well. Colors are awesome motion is also very good. I turn off all the motion stuff. I'm sensitive to the soap opera effect. I've watched a ton of 4k movies both on disk and streaming. I don't really use the built in apps to much. The ones I did, Disney+ amazon work well. The other cons I have besides blooming are,. The tv was randomly rebooting its self. It was doing it constantly. I had to do a hard reset to fix it. It still power cycles itself randomly. Another con is when you turn the TV on sometimes it won't have any sound. You have to go into the android tv settings and restart the tv. Once it comes back on the sound works. I am on the latest firmware. Hopefully Sony is aware and this is fixed in the next firmware update. I'll give this set 3 stars because of those issues. If they're fixed I'll update my review and add an additional star.

    First off, I would like to say that I do truly love this tv. It has a great picture and was a great price for what you get at 969.00. I have not had any banding issues like other reviews have either. However, after a day of having the tv. I have had audio issues where the speakers make a crackling and static noise from the speakers. Especially when playing video games on my PS4 or Nintendo switch. I have tried Factory resetting the TV, resetting (unplugging), and swapping out HDMI cords. Even unplugged and move my indoor antenna, thinking maybe the frequency from the antenna was affecting the speakers. Factory resetting the tv gave me temporary relief for a day, but then the static was back. Unplugging it and resetting, switching inputs seemed to help as well, but again only temporarily. The oddest thing though is that I only have this issue playing games or watching tv over the airwaves, but not on apps like Netflix and Disney +. And you might be thinking like I was, faulty HDMI cords. But I doubt all 3 of my cords decided to die when they work fine on my old television and have tested them again on the old tv. The good news is the best buy's customer service is awesome and they are exchanging a new tv for me. I hope this is just faulty tv and not the Sony brand. Will definitely change the review if the exchanged tv works as intended.

    Great TV at a reasonable price

    Youtube reviews really convinced me to buy this tv, and I will say that I really like it. Who knew choosing a tv would be so difficult?!? Let me start off by saying that I went through 2 different options (gradually increasing in price) before finally settling on the x-900h. Not gonna lie, this is an expensive set... however, once you start comparing it against similar tv's on the market... you will notice that the price is actually reasonable for all the features it includes. Pros: -Nice and clean interface (android tv). UI was something EXTREMELY important to me as I was very used to Samsung's UI on my old set. -Processor speed: Android tv on this television is extremely fast and responsive. -Brightness adjustment is plentiful, during the day I am able to still see a clear picture when I increase brightness. Likewise, at night I can lower it to not hurt my eyes. - High quality build: metal border around bezel and metal feet make the tv feel (and look) more expensive. Cons: -TV has done a weird thing to me, just once, but it powered on and there was sound but no picture. Not sure what happened that time, but I unplugged it for a bit, and then it worked normally again. -Sound could be higher. I find myself needing to set the volume at 30+ to be able to hear sometimes. -TV is thicker than most competitor offerings, but this is not a big deal if you don't plan on wall mounting it (even if you do, it's not a dealbreaker)

    Great tv but glitches

    This is a great tv and i love the picture quality and everything is has to offer, but my tv turns on randomly when it’s off. I have had it a year and the past 6 months it has been doing it and its starting to happen more and more which is very frustrating. Does anybody know how to fix this issue. I’m so over randomly hearing my tv turn on loud in my living room.

    Good, tv but has some issues

    I’ve had this tv for a while. The picture quality is good but I can’t help but notice color banding on the tv that bothers me and I can’t understand why smooth gradation isn’t on this model, I have issues with the every so often that there’s no sound when my ps5 is on screen and have to restart the tv. Those are my two major cons in my opinion, overall I think it’s a decent tv for the ps5 n for majority serves its purpose looking forward to whenever Sony drops the vrr and the allm update and severely hope they add smooth gradation to this model so color banding can be nonexistent

    The picture is outstanding. My issue is with the update that brought 2.1 HDMI and 120hz. Since the update, everyday I turn the TV on the sound does not function at all. I need to reset the TV and unplug it every. single. day. for the sound to work. This happened right after the update. Huge bummer for a $1000 product to give me a chore to do. My only other gripe would be there seems to be big light bloom around a light object on a black background.

    After the recent update it randomly restarts on its own. Often times in the middle of a good football play or important moment in the game im playing. Completely random and quite annoying. Fix it please. Sound quality leaves quite a bit to be desired. Sound bar needed for anyone purchasing. Other then the aforementioned concerns, tv is perfect.

This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have in our product. Let's try to isolate your reboot issue by following the steps below:

      1. If you are using an HDMI cable to connect a device to your TV, make sure it is a Certified Premium HDMI cable with a length of 6 feet or less.
      • Skip this step if you don’t have one available.

      2. Set the RS232C control to Via serial port.
      Note: This setting may affect the power consumption of the TV.
      A. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
      B. Select Settings → Remotes & Accessories → Via serial port.
      Note: If this step does not resolve the issue, change this back to the original setting before continuing.

      3. Perform a reset on the TV. Please refer to this link for instructions https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00159487.

      We recommend checking the downloads section of your model support page periodically for an update.

    I just wanted to say I’m going to purchase this item based on the reviews I also want to say I purchased a 40 inch Bravia back in 2008 when Boscov’s was selling TV’s. Never had one issue or repair. Color remained the same as I just took it out of the box. Moving this tv to the bedroom SONY is the only way to go
