End of an era
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a long time, my preferred brand has always been Sony…no longer. This 65” XBR was awesome until it stopped working just under 3 years. Motherboard failure according to tech support. No authorized repair centers in the state and no spare parts available. Dissatisfied with customer support and disappointed with decline in Sony quality.

Can’t stream
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’d buy an insignia over this any day of the week! Apps never work and it always needs to be reset or restarted. I’ve added only 4 applications: Prime, Disney+, ESPN & Peacock. The only one that typically Works is prime. I wish I had bought an insignia. This has been a terrible purchase if you’re using it to stream. The picture is good but the streaming aspect is horrible.

Not built to last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start off by saying while this TV lasted, it was great. Now that that's out of the way, having a great product doesn't mean much if it doesn't last and falls apart. I just hit my 2 year mark with this TV and it has been randomly rebooting for a few months now. The other day it rebooted and never turned back on. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps provided by Sony and none of them work. I have a fair bit of experience with TV repair and I believe the issue to be a bad powerboard. I reached out to Sony support for assistance and they refuse to fix the TV and told me to look up a TV repair shop near me on my own. I understand the warranty period for this TV is 1 year, but are we really going to act like its normal for a 2 year old TV to just die? Unecceptable in my opinion and even worse Sony does not stand by their products. End Rant. Buy an LG or Samsung.

No VRR support unlike advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very disappointed with how Sony decided to cancel VRR and ALLM support for this TV. The only reason I got this TV was for the next gen experience and they went back on their word. I'm so mad I can't even return the T.V. since its been over the 15 days. SDR on this TV is meh and the screen judder is too much for me. If you are getting this for next gen, you will only get 4k 120.... save a few extra $$ and get a better TV.

Posted .Hi MarineVet,
Thank you so much for reaching out!
Last week, a U.S. Sony Support article was updated and incorrectly removed reference to future support for VRR and ALLM for the X900H series.
Please note that this was an error, and the plan to support these features is unchanged from the previous communication wherein we state that the X900H will support VRR and ALLM via a future firmware update. The article containing the erroneous information on Sony Support has been updated with the correct information: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/televisions-projectors/articles/00246472

Obnoxious DSE Spots
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first purchased this TV during its Black Friday sale a couple weeks ago, as I was replacing a TCL with some pretty bad DSE (Dirty Screen Effect). These are small, fingerprint sized dark blotches that are super noticeable during gaming and sports when the camera is panning. Low and behold, the first x900h had a couple blotches towards the bottom left and top right. I got it exchanged for another one, and now this one has a DSE blotch right in the center of the screen. I mean really? A TV being sold at 1,400 dollars is going to be have this defect? According to Reddit it has been plaguing the 65 inch models. I’m frankly exhausted from returning and receiving busted TV’s, and I’m super disappointed that Sony would be selling panels this bad at this price. I’m going to try and turn it in for another and pray I win the panel lottery.

Do Not recommend this tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv (65") 13 months ago and did not buy the extended warranty. I figured Sony is a reputable brand and I am spending a lot of money on this tv and the gentleman who sold this to me never mentioned anything about problems with this tv. Well, I just had a Sony rep at my house to fix my tv and the part is over $600.00 to fix (not to mention I had to pay to have him come to my house). He told me to buy a new tv because with that new part he can not guarantee that this problem will not occur again or even fix the problem. He recommended buying a different brand tv (LG) or if I buy another Sony to get the extended warranty. I am very disappointed that Best Buy never explained that apparently this is very common with Sony and that Sony would allow this to happen when we are spending over $1,400.00 on their product!

Looking for a solid gaming TV? Look elsewhere
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This will be the last Sony TV I ever buy. Although Sony advertised 4K 120Hz support, the 900H does not display true full resolution 4K at 120Hz - over a year after release, there is still blur, still no VRR support, still no ALLM support, and Sony's lack of acknowledging or addressing these issues suggest this isn't going to change. Sony customer support essentially told me to live with it, and that they would not do anything for me. The TV now sits unused in a spare room, gathering dust, because I had to go out of pocket to replace it with a different brand and model that actually performs as advertised. I bought this TV based on the trust in the brand that had developed through positive experience with previous Sony TVs, and the numerous technical issues with the 900H, deceptive marketing, and dismissive and unhelpful support staff, has utterly destroyed any respect or faith I had in Sony or their products.

We value your input, and we will surely take note of it as we always strive for the best customer experience.
For the 4K 120Hz playback issue, if you haven't tried yet, please follow the steps below and see if it fixes the problem:
• Update the firmware to the latest version (v6.0466). The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. For more information, please visit https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/xbr-65x900h/downloads.
• Ensure that the TV is properly set up to support HDMI 4K/120Hz signal from another device:
https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/xbr-65x900h/articles/00254067
For the VRR & ALLM, currently, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) are not yet available. However, these features will be added via a future firmware update.

Don’t buy TV won’t last past 2 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer be aware of Sony Bravia TVs. These TV will only last you about 1.5 years to 2 years max. I have a 900e which only lasted 2 years and it is dead. Many users are experiencing the same issue. Repair cost is up to $1000 so you pretty much need to dispose the TV You can read all the issues here in Sony community: https://us.community.sony.com/s/question/0D50B00005JLaRESA1/when-is-sony-going-to-issue-a-recall-for-these-xbr-bravia-bad-android-tvs

Posted .Hi Budare,
Thank you for choosing and purchasing our X900E High Dynamic Range Smart TV.
We are sorry to hear that the TV did not last long. It is difficult for Sony or any other manufacturer to quote the life expectancy for a product. Certain variables, such as the amount of use (or lack thereof) a product receives and the environmental conditions in which a product is being used, play a part in the life expectancy of a product. Please be assured we take this very seriously and continuously strive to improve our products.
We recommend visiting our website to help you locate a servicer near your location.

Please also note that Sony provides a warranty for all products to allow for initial failures to be covered at Sony's expense. Once the warranty expires, it is the customer's responsibility to cover repair costs.
We are sorry again for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Erin

Stay Away!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the x900H About a month ago and have had nonstop issues. I have the cable box plugged into HDMI1. Frequently, when I turn on the TV there is no sound. The TV functions, HDMI2, Netflix, all have sound. Just not HDMI1. I need to unplug the TV to get it back. Sometimes in the middle of watching, it will have a loud screeching noise, then reboot. It frequently forgets the setup to HDMI1 and asks to reset it. The guy at Best Buy said this is the third one that he has had with this issue and Sony is giving him nothing on plans to fix it. I sent the TV back to Best Buy for a replacement. It has been 48 hours with the replacement and I have turned it on to no sound twice already. It also doesn't keep the motion settings. I get the soap opera effect every time I turn it on and have to change the settings back where I want them. This TV just sucks!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2k wasted on garbage. It’s really just a mess of a tv - literally changes settings without notice. The “smart” aspect of it is useless. Says Alexa controlled, it’s not.. I can see rotating lines of flickering pixels in solid colors.. and this meager voice activation requires you to press a button. Brand new tv couldn’t even add a little mic.. so so terribly disappointed in something I spent so much for. Just an awful tv

Wifi Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within owning the tv for 1 week I have had wifi issues twice. When turning the tv on it shows that it’s not connected to wifi and won’t fully launch any app requiring wifi; when I try to look at the available wifi connections in the Network & Internet setting nothing shows up and I’m unable to enable a wifi network. A tv reset is required which is ridiculous for a tv of such price. Wait for a software patch before buying this tv

Bought X800H and regretting it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Sony X800H 2months back and made the switch from samsung. I initially wanted X900H but it was out of my budget. I immediately regretted my decision since X800H doesnt have FALD and the TV doesnt handle dark scenes well. The experience was much better on my previous cheaper TV After 2 months, the price of X900H has dropped to what I paid for X800 and I feel cheated. Sorry Sony, wish I could upgrade to X900H and leave a better review.

What happened to Sony Bravia brand quality? I have my old Bravia from 2011 and it is working just fine. Shouldn’t have to deal with those kind of problems 1 year after purchase at this price point. Posted .Hi Banana,
Thank you for purchasing the X900H Ultra HD Smart TV.
We are sorry to hear that the TV died. This is definitely not the news we'd like to hear from you. Several conditions may cause a power issue that prevents your TV from turning on. If you experience power fluctuations, such as brownouts, blackouts, or temporary power loss, these conditions should be resolved before troubleshooting the TV.
Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected to a working wall outlet.
Make sure the power cord is securely connected to the back of the TV.
Try turning on the TV by pressing the POWER button on the TV, then try turning on the TV by pressing the POWER button on the supplied remote control.
Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the TV.
Turn on the TV.
If the issue still occurs after following the above instructions, repair may be required. Please visit our service website to locate servicer near you.
