I came from a 2017 Samsung QLED Q6FN. I thought the Samsung was great, but this is a whole new level. This review might be a bit nick picking, but here's a pro/cons list. Pros: *Soon to have HDMI 2.1 support and VRR. Great for gamers. * Amazing black levels. This isn't an OLED by any means, but it is certainly on par and better than my Samsung. * Almost perfectl calibration out of the box. Amazing color, just had a few personal tweaks to make it more to my taste. Cons: *Blacks aren't as good as the OLED, and the TV isn't as bright as a QLED *Narrow viewing angles *LED has its own faults Overall, if you're looking for a great TV and don't want to risk the burn in of an OLED and the crushed blacks of Samsungs, get this TV. On sale it's a steal.

Annoying Issues Holds TV Back From Being Amazing

For the good, the picture quality on this TV is amazing, especially out of the box. Very few changes are necessary to the picture settings. It looks as beautiful as you'd expect. Now for the bad. The first thing I did on setting this TV up was to turn off the Motion Flow to get rid of the soap opera effect. Problem solved, until I turn the TV off. As soon as turn it back on the judder returns. The TV keeps bringing the soap opera effect back. I have to go back into the picture settings and find Motion Flow where it says it is set to "OFF." I need to turn it on then turn it off again and now soap opera Judder is gone. But every time I turn the TV on it's the same issue. I've looked online and have found others with the same issue but there is no solution from Sony. I looked to contact Sony but all of their support services (Chat, Email, and Phone) is down according to their website. That's helpful. Another issue is that the WIFI will turn off intermittently and will not turn back on until I do a reset on the TV. This is not as often as the Motion Flow but still annoying for a $1300 (bought before the big discount) TV. If/When these problems get fixed, this is a great TV but for now it is just annoying to have to change the settings each time you turn the TV on.

A good tv with some issues

Some glitches at first but it was fixed with a firmware update. I wish I had waited for the x90J. Seems like they fixed the 120hz blur with the x90J. Not sure if the x900h will ever have the 120hz blur fixed. Still no VRR at this time.

And if you're a gamer like I am with my PS4 and I'm waiting for my PS5 the picture is life like it makes you feel like you was right there in the middle of the game. There isn't enough compliments I can give this TV. I highly recommend buying it, it is well worth it PERIOD. I have owned a lot of TVs mostly all Sony and this one has by far is the best TV yet with an outstanding picture. It is well worth spending the couple extra bucks to buy this TV. It will not disappoint you guarantee it.

The picture quality is crisp and handles fast movements (sports) great without any obvious pixilation. It also has the newer HDMI ports which will help 5 years from now. Since we are not going to the theater anymore, we now have a great system at home. I've paired it with a Yamaha soundbar and we love it. The only non-software downside is that two HDMI ports took some force to plug into. I was told this was a defect but since it finally worked, I think this was more so to have a firm hold onto the main HDMI cords so they're never loose, especially if mounting. We will mount this eventually, but it is currently on a TV stand and also anchored it to the wall using third party straps for earthquake/child proofing.

Disappointed Purchaser

Really disappointed with this tv after the hype. It does provide HDMI 2.1 gaming, mostly using it for Fortnite in 4K/120 but the resolution does take a hit and it is a bit blurry. I don’t know if you could really call it 4K or that is just marketing speak. My unit has vertical banding that is most evident when watching lighter colored content and unfortunately I didn’t notice this by the time I could return it. Spent time on two occasions contacting Sony customer service about this only to be told this is operating within manufacturer specs. I’m just disappointed because I generally feel like Sony makes quality TVs, but I’m rethinking them as a brand to purchase from after the pretty awful performance and atrocious customer service.

The X900H supports features specified in HDMI 2.1 like eARC, 4K 120, ALLM, and VRR that will be available in a future update. We regret to hear that you're having an issue with the TV. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our products. We apologize for the inconvenience. Was the software or firmware updated(v6.0466)? With this updated software, the X900H improves general performance and stability, adds support for NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0), adds support for the Apple TV app, and adds support for the 4K 120Hz signal format to allow for PlayStation®5 compatibility. The issue may be resolved by adjusting the various setting on the TV and Enhance the format of the HDMI settings. You will need to set the TV HDMI® signal format to Enhanced format for your source device to recognize the 4K 120Hz capability of the TV. Make sure your device is connected to the HDMI 3 or HDMI 4 input on the TV using the supplied Certified Premium HDMI cable.
1. Select Settings → Watching TV → External inputs → HDMI signal format.
2. Select the input the device is connected to (either HDMI 3 or HDMI 4), and then change the setting to Enhanced format.
Also, you can configure various settings related to the TV display such as color and brightness for picture quality, or screen size. The actual display may vary or some settings may not be available depending on your model/country/region and the content you are watching. You can change the following settings by pressing the HOME button, then select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — the desired option.

It has a great picture with excellent black levels. It works with Apple devices so I can mirror my iPhone on the TV so I can watch Apple TV+ and show my pictures and videos from my phone. The sound is decent for a flat panel TV, much better than any other TV I tried. I really like buying TVs at Best Buy because the price is competitive and, most importantly, you can see the picture quality of the TV you are considering. The knowledgeable staff is also a nice plus. One other reason I bought this TV is that it is compatible with future ATSC 3.0 broadcasts. This is the new standard for local channels to broadcast in. I'm a cord cutter who uses a TV antenna to get local channels and streaming services for other content to watch.

From my first 26" Trinitron to a 46" Bravia LCD and now the 65" 4K UHD, it has always been sheer viewing pleasure. The colors are so much more crisper compared to some of the competitors and what I love the most about this one is the fully lit array. It makes it possible to get the picture clarity even when viewing it from an angle. Was really surprised when it was discounted for Black Friday and I didnt have to think twice since I was getting a 65" Bravia for a little more than a 55" Bravia (based on sale prices). Seeing how I've had each of my Sony TVs for about 10 years each, I dont mind spending that little extra for the quality and longevity.

Won me over from A Samsung QLED

I was looking at the Samsung qleds q60/q70 for the last couple years but wasn’t ready to spend the money yet til this year. Then after more research and talking to a magnolia guy Dan at my Best Buy store I congirmed that Samsung did a significant downgrade of the q60 and q70 so to get the Samsung that I was saving for all that time I would have had to go with the q80 which was a gorgeous tv, but was at $1500 plus with no shot of a Black Friday price break. He then showed me Sony x900h which came with all I wanted and more and was advertised to go on sale at the $1000 price range I was looking to be at. This tv looks amazing both picture and the unit itself. I liked the super thin outside frame/border. Highly recommend this tv.

My first ever TV that’s in 4K. Yes, I know I’m a little late to the party. But it was definitely worth the wait. This TV is in insane. It’s a MAJOR upgrade from what I was last using, and it’s a perfect pair for next-gen consoles. Main reason why I bought this TV besides for entertainment purposes such as streaming movies, TV shows, or live content was for my PlayStation 5. And I will say, it’s a perfect match. They pair so wonderfully together. I highly recommend this TV! The hype is real ladies and gentlemen. Don’t sleep on this television.

This TV replaced a 55', 6 year old Vizio and it's a fairly significant improvement. I was looking to upgrade now, in anticipation of getting a PS5, which this TV supports its features via 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, offering 4k/120hz after the latest firmware update. The Android interface is very smooth and we've decided to use that over our existing Roku, going forward. Accurate skin tones / colors out of the box, which our old TV could never get quite right. Got the TV during the Black Friday sale and while you may prefer the picture of a high-end OLED if price is not an obstacle, this is about as good as it gets in this range. Very happy with the purchase.
