The two main reasons this tv was purchased over the competition for pairing with my PS5 and XBox Series X. While it is a nice set for video feeds, I purchased this set primarily for next generation gaming. Will not buy Sony again.

Frustrating TV for the Price

I was upgrading from a 55inch TCL S405, so the vivid colors and bright highlights made for a fun honeymoon phase. As time has passed, issues have arisen and I greatly regret keeping the set past the return window. I get stuttering video whenever I watch 24fps content, specifically with HDMI connections (this makes watching films on PS5 not an option). The internal apps work a bit better, but the fact that a new TV necessitates needing a separate device to adjust the framerate is obnoxious. I shouldn't need extra equipment just to watch a movie. Worst of all is the vertical banding/jail bars on the 65inch set. It becomes extremely distracting when watching most content, especially if there is a bright blue sky. I understand this can be an issue with FALD sets, but it's extra pronounced here. I've attached some photos, but it honestly looks worse in person, especially with motion. TV also randomly making a clicking noise when turned on, despite recent firmware updates. This can be very distracting. I gained a somewhat prettier picture, but honestly the new problems are much worse and I feel like I wasted money. Wish I could have tried the x950h.

Switching from console to regular tv sometimes the volumn doesn’t come back for tv. Leaving me having to restart tv from the tv menus, turning it off and back on does not bring the volumn back. Also came back a couple time to the tv looking faded in color, it’s still be on the same setting so I have to go into the menus and go to the option for it to re-recognize the console and automatically adjust. Relatively quick process for both but an inconvenience and really it’s a new tv so it’s nerve wrecking, leaving you thinking like ALREADY?!?

Great TV, excellent service from Geek Squad!

Also had Geek Squad for delivery and set-up, and they were right on time, professional and helped me with a crash course on the new set. So the feature list of this TV is long, so I'll have to update you on the rest, but so far so good, and you can't go wrong with ths Sony. I got it for a great price with a Best Buy "Members Only" deal, so that made it even nicer. Highly recommend this Sony TV and Geek Squad delivery and setup !

The first one had a problem with extreme stutter and ended up getting this green rectangle artifact that would appear on left of screen. The one I have now looks like it was used, perhaps a refurbished. The back has many greasy fingure prints on it and looks like squares were cut out from the back and replaced with peices. See in attached pictures. Please let me know if that is normal on this TV as it has me worried I got a repaired one. I also had green bars going down both sides of the screen on the very edge from time to time. After two weeks I noticed the color is no longer ad uniform threw test performed at time of purchased. This one has better motion then the first but the green bar problem as well as how it looked out the box has me worried. I do not want to be the person on the 3rd exchange but feel I may have to, which is a big hassle.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps below to isolate the lines on the screen.
1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button. If the lines appear on the menu screen, proceed to the next step.
2. Perform a power reset.
1. Turn off your TV.
2. Unplug the AC power cord.
3. Leave your TV unplugged for two minutes, then plug it back in.
4. Turn on your TV.
3. Press the HOME button again to display the menu screen. Check if the lines are still visible.

Good picture and sound. Unpacking instructions were good. Daughter and I unpack it and set it up on stand with ease. System set up a little more difficult. Not sure it fully set up yet as I don’t have patience to read all instructions. Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ etc work well. Way better than Frontier cable service. Likely give it higher than 3 stars once I own it longer.
