Beautiful panel and great user experience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this TV. I was replacing a 2019 vizio m series, and this is a step up in every direction. Gorgeous, vibrant panel, and gets bright enough to tackle the living room on a sunny day without issue. Android OS is light years better than vizios smartcast which had constant issues from day 1, I've had 0 issues so far and the experience has been a joyous breeze. The colors out of the box looked perfect and needed no adjustments to my eyes, the colors popped while not looking artificial like the reds sometimes would on the vizio. Plenty of options to adjust picture, easy to access, and each option gives an explanation of what the setting does. One thing i underestimated the importance of was motion, sonys tvs seem to handle things in motion so much more fluidly, and that translates to a fantastic picture quality for sports and video games. Speaking of video games, the ps5 looks phenomenal on it, with no input lag at all. Another thing sony seems to do better than others is upscaling low-res content; the switch also looks surprisingly better on the x900h than the M series. Now for the negatives, and to be honest, the negatives were a primary reason why I settled on this TV, because outside of some minor blooming in rare circumstances, the negatives only consist of a lack of features I just don't care much about (yet, anyways, we'll see if that changes in 5 years). Those features being VRR and full 4k/120 capability (cuts horizontal resolution in half when at 120fps, so essentially not quite 4k/120). Now supposedly they're adding VRR in a future update (some people have ther doubts) but I play primarily on console now, and haven't noticed significant screen tearing once since probably the x360 days. And I value visual fidelity over a framerate above 60fps, so I wouldn't even be choosing the higher framerate modes anyway. So, the tv's few limitations fit my preferences well and I'm so happy I went with it. I'm much more satisfied than I was with the vizio. I could gush about this TV all day. If you primarily watch TV, Netflix, sports, etc, I would highly recommend this TV. Only caveat would be if you're a gamer who is trying to play at 4k/120, or a pc user who needs VRR. But if you're a casual console gamer who values picture quality over some features you might not even notice or need, I think this TV fits that use case perfectly. It's incredibly rare that I spend this much money and not feel buyers remorse

A great gaming TV with superior image
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new 120hz TV to play with my Xbox series X. And as I did a a lot of research I went for the Sony X900H and do not regret it one bit. The picture quality for the games is fantastic and for regular tv watching is good. The 950 model does not have 120hz so I didn’t get that one. This TV recently got the 120hz option through an update. The games look super crisp and unbelievable on it. I use the new Audioquest 48G pearl HDMI wires. It’s a great tv for the price. I got it on sale so it was a no brainer. I had the x930e tv and that is a beast of a tv but didn’t have 120hz. I love my Sony x900h.

Best 4K Movie/Gaming TV under $1500, Needs 4k120hz
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I stewed over the 4k tv for gaming decision for quite some time, and finally settled on the X900H. Out of the box, picture quality is exceptional and I've calibrated it to my needs. I found myself rewatching all my movies to see how the tv upscales older DVDs, and displays newer Blu-ray films. Its very good. I don't yet have 4k UHD player or next-gen console, but from the look of things, it'll be a pleasure. I am a bit disappointed that 4k120hz may not be feasible to the utmost with the clarity one desires on this model (blur yet persists according to those reviewers I follow - HDTVtest, Rtings, among others) and still awaiting a firmware update for VRR and ALLM. Sony promised 4k120hz would be capable, but its still not quite ready. I fully expect Sony will keep working at improving this model for it's reputation and customers sake. The tv's sound is better than most, but I mostly pipe it to an external system, and things are very good. I don't care for the legs on this model and will most likely be mounting it on the wall. They're spaced wide and deep, the tv sits low and yet fairly far from the wall (since you don't want the legs teetering on the edge of the console), which doesn't allow much of anything else on the console. It's, I think, possible to place an Xbox Series X or PS5 horizontally under the front bezel, or a slim sound bar (but not older models). But vertically, there's no way except behind the tv, which would contradict generous air flow necessary for console and TV heat exhausts. But airflow is good around the set as it stands alone. I don't find the set gets very hot when watching for extended periods, or gaming, just slightly warm to the touch. It may get hotter when running 4k console media/games. We shall see. I rate this set 4/5 stars because there's still some updates to bring this set up to par in what was advertised/promised. It's slowly getting there. I don't mind waiting a little bit longer, but certainly don't let it go by the wayside. And I personally didn't suppose that the x900h not getting full 4k120hz support without blur or fine detail was a Total deal breaker, with most games running 4k60hz, but I do want to it to be competent in that regard. I do hold Sony to it's word, and if they don't deliver, this will affect my future considerations of Sony adversely. It's hard to earn back customer approval and trust, let alone praise, once you lose it. The Android OS was a factor for me. I could have been happy with Samsung Tizen or LGs web os, but this one is best for me. I love having access to virtually every app on the market, and android games too. It's fluid, fast and easy to use. I do seriously dislike tvs having Advertising, which this one does too (the vast majority do), and cannot be disabled. The reasons I chose this set: It's way cheaper than oled (the LG CX probably being my next choice, or possibly Samsung Q90T, but those costing nearly twice as much ~ and in consideration of oled, I would have gotten a 2 or 5 ur ext warranty for burn in risk and other potential issues), no burn in risk, much greater longevity anticipated for VA panel, good fald, sound, brightness, HDMI 2.1 and accompanying next-gen features, motion handling, black frame insertion. This set represents the most bang for your buck in any regard. It's advertised to be next gen ready, but it certainly isn't ready Yet - though next gen consoles have already arrived on market. Basically, for lack of suitable alternatives in this price range and feature inclusion, this model was my best choice.

Absolutely worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is phenomenal. It has an incredible picture and great motion handling. The specs speak for themselves. HDMI 2.1, VRR, etc. make it absolutely great for games. The settings and intelligent picture handling allow you to customize the color, sharpness, motion smoothness and clarity, and other viewing conditions to match your exact needs, though the preset picture modes are already pretty close to ideal out of the box. The software/firmware does wonders for improving video content. I tried throwing lower resolution and lower frame rate content at it to test the upscaling and interpolation. Image quality is drastically improved by the intelligent upscaling and can be further customized to compensate for whatever inadequacies the source video may have had. The frame interpolation is so much better than anything I have seen on other TVs. I tried watching low frame rate animations to see if it would produce the jerky or unnatural movement characteristic of interpolation of such source video. The movement was amazingly smooth and natural. To someone who watches a lot of animated works and is accustomed to seeing more frames devoted to action scenes and less to others, it was hard to shake the notion that even the most mundane scenes had become more actiony. The inbuilt speakers are much better than I could have expected. They have good frequency extension and a surprisingly balanced sound profile. Great for music or games, though maybe not as booming and emphatic as some would prefer for a big cinematic experience. The soundstage is unbelievably good for small rearfacing speakers. I have only listened to the TV speakers at low (12%) volume settings as those were plenty loud for my use. I set up the TV myself. It was quick and easy for me, though anyone concerned about damaging it/themselves would be entirely reasonable to consider it a 2 person job. It is a large, weighty, thin object, and it doesn't have much of an edge to lift it by. The included feet are thin, but stick out quite far for good stability. They are rubberized on the bottom for good grip without damaging furniture. I ended up buying separate feet to attach via VESA mount so that it would fit on my existing furniture. The remote is awesome. It has real buttons, not just the concentric circles like on other brands, though it has those too. They should put a picture of this monster in the product listing. It has so many buttons, I have no idea what some of them do. I got this TV on a holiday sale with a member discount. As someone who is usually a cheapskate, this was a huge purchase for me and I researched and contemplated it thoroughly beforehand. I am absolutely thrilled with it.

Fantastic Sony 4K TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony X900H is an excellent 4K television for anyone looking to upgrade from an older generation TV. Also, this television is excellent for those who have next generation consoles like PS5 or XBox One X. I have a PS5 and the graphics on this TV verse my old is amazing. The TV is easily customizable for gaming, sports or movie watch. Lastly, the price on this television is a steal especially if you catch one of Best Buy’s sales. I highly recommend this.

Amazing Picture Quality!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did 3 months worth of research before I purchased this Sony Tv, it was the best decision I made! The experts ranked it #5 for this 2021 year and they were completely accurate on their pick. The colors are down right gorgeous along with amazing clarity/sharp picture. Yes the 2.1 HDMI is available in Input HDMI 1, plus eARC in Input HDMI3. I’ve been able to get full 120hz through some games on my PS5 and my Sony Z9F soundbar puts out incredible sound through the eARC. Overall Best Tv available for under $1500!!!

Me Like
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced an 8 year old 1080 resolution 55 inch Sony XBR in a large room so the increased screen real estate is immersive. Audio is OK, certainly better than the tinny quality on the older TV, but I have long used a 5.1 surround sound system. Android TV and casting from Android or iPhone works very well--I had never used that before--as does optical audio out to a surround amplifier. Startup defaults to the Android page and automatically switches to whatever the cable box is feeding, a minor annoyance I would turn off but I don't think you can. The choice of Apps on Android TV does not include a few I occasionally use with Roku but that is Google being Google. I only recently switched to using the built in Android for some streaming instead of Roku and in my setup the Android system built into the TV seems to do a slightly better job of upscaling to 4k. That is just a subjective impression and if true could be due to pass through issues from the Roku through the amplifier to the TV. The regional dimming works well with very good blacks, so far no edge light leak. In fact because edge light leak and less than black blacks were a little problematic on the older set dark scenes can seem too dark on this tv when in fact that is the way they are supposed to be with real black instead of light leak black. While the set adjusts to ambient light there are times when a bit brighter picture seems desirable but I am picky and there are really no problems with the picture in a bright room, other than the inevitable reflections off the large screen that faces an entire wall of 18 feet tall windows. No interest in gaming so no opinion. BUT: I was surprised that the default motion control can yield the "soap opera" effect as the default motion control on the older set was to me ideal and one of the reasons I focused on getting another Sony. Its not consistent and you can futz with the controls to improve it but it seems to intermittently still show up, perhaps based on source material. Not everyone notices or is bothered by it and some seem to like it--and its not consistent like on many a lesser flat panel tv. At the sale price at the time I bought this TV I don't think there was a better 65 inch 4k set out there based on my OCD driven research. I certainly have zilch buyer's remorse, and I would give 4.5 stars except for minor issues with motion control and brightness that I will probably not notice the more I get used to watching this beast.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best value in tvs right now. Got it on sale for the 65 inch model due to the outstanding picture quality and as sony says it's ps5 ready with 2 updates giving hdmi ports 3 and 4 the follwing features, variable refresh rate, auto low latency mode and 4k at 120 fps. Thus far my ps4 pro and xbox one x games look stunning and the tv is very quick and responsive with no noticeable input lag for me. Finally 4k movies like the matrix in 4k and newer films like 1917 are true stunner that will catch peoples eyes.

Great Picture at an amazing price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture: This Sony is by far the best bang for your buck at this price point. It’s picture quality is great, amazing colors, good contrast and great motion. There’s been talk about banding issues but they seem a little exaggerated. SDR viewing is good but where this TV shines is in HDR. I used this solely for streaming and gaming and couldn’t be happier. Sound: the sound on the tv is nothing to rave about, I have a sound system so I can’t really say more than that. Build quality: this isn’t the thinnest tv but it looks and feels great. The stand/feet are fixed and can’t be moved but mine is hanging off the wall. The remote is fairly generic, it has the usual streaming services buttons, and microphone to use for Google’s voice commands. Software/Apps: I’m an Apple user so I wasn’t familiar with Android TV but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very fast and responsive, I don’t feel the need to purchase an external Apple TV, it has all the apps I need to stream the usual stuff, Netflix, Amazon video, Hulu, HBO Max and more. Cons: For gamers out there this is one of the few TVs that’s touted as PlayStation 5 ready which is great. The bad news is all the HDMI 2.1 features expected with the PS5 aren’t actually working, there’s supposed to be a firmware update that will enable some features.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned the LG Nano cell tv for the Sony X900H. I must say that it is a great TV compared to the LG Nano cell tv. The picture quality is great and the black is just awesome. Of course the LG sound is way better but i will definitely get a sound bar. So that's not a problem for me. Sony should improve on their remote control - the remote looks historic. I gladly recommend this TV. So far so good.

Pretty Good overall
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, very good. Purchased this tv on sale for a significant discount under $1000. The picture looks nice, especially 4k. I am using settings I found in a Youtube video posted by CO Guy Stuff. His settings are good, but I lowered my brightness settings even more, because this TV is super bright and anything that was white, was just too white. I also changed the color setting from 'Expert 1' to 'Neutral' because the expert setting looked like it was adding a sepia filter. One knock is over-the-air broadcasts look better on my 7 year old 51 inch Samsung Plasma, which is probably somewhat normal due to native resolution of broadcast tv matching the older tv. But one of the reasons I decided on this TV was some of the future-proof tech it is touting besides the HDMI 2.1, like having an ATSC 3.0 tuner built in. So we will see how good this tv looks in the near future when our area upgrades to this standard. Another knock on this unit was sound drop out issues. I nearly took this TV back, and might still do so if the problem comes back within my return window. I was getting sound drop outs while watching OTA tv broadcasts. Sony tech support had me change some audio settings including turning system sounds off, sending Dolby Digital instead of DD Plus, turning AV Sync 'On', and a few others I can't remember. I haven't had drop outs now for several days, and the technician I chatted with was confident those settings would help. I have not had the banding issues that some have had with this 65 inch model. However, if you are really looking for it on screens that have a basically uniform color, you can see it slightly. It is not of any concern to me. The corners are just slightly darker than the rest of the tv, as others have noted. Other than these things, so far this seems like a nice TV, and I hope it is one that will last me for several years.

THE MARVEL MOVIES ALONE!!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5 months later, this is the best tv for the price. The colors are perfect right out of the box, sound is good for a tv, i wish it had more than 1 hdmi 2.1 plug in spot. I have the Xbox series X and Sonys top of the line 4K player and it only hdmi port that supports next gen gaming and dolby vision ahhhhh lol and yes the sony 4k player is still way better than the new xbox series x. Using AudioQuest VODKA ANND CARBON for all connections. $$$ worth every penny. I also live for MARVEL movies and this TV ROCKS! When Dr. Strange multiplies and then uses lava rope to grab Thanos and his gauntlet, the screen absolutely comes to life and looks incredibly real, but HDR works perfectly giving depth to everything also it has good viewing angles and is great for brighter rooms or lamps in bad places. I'm very happy with my purchase and would buy the same TV in a few years or the upgraded model of the same TV I like it that much I might be a one time buyer, also pointing out this is the first Sony TV I've ever bought and the most expensive TV I've ever bought even though I got it on sale for about $250 off .

Video game tv of the Year !!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I been doing lots of research between this and the LG OLED . I was actually torn in between I wanted a high end tv for the next series of gaming consoles . I am referring to HDMI 2.1 which is 4K @120hz. At first I was hesitant to even buy this tv because our of box it didn’t have the proper 120hz 4K refresh rate . A week later after my purchase I find out it’s available eager to try my new Xbox series X game console with this awesome tv . What do you know it works like a charm , and I couldn’t believe how smooth this tv runs my video games . The wide range of colors this tv can produce is amazing . I did not go with the OLED because well it costs too much and I am afraid of burn in . ratings shows a video a year from now the tv has risk of burn in . Well yeah I don’t want to take that chance and I can save myself some money and get the size I want which is 65” . I mean I have to go for that right and I must say the user interface is super fast . I never used smart features so quick from last years this mode is a big improvement good job Sony you guys really nailed this tv. The Netflix calibration mode works like a charm , changing the picture mode is easy as two steps , the remote is Bluetooth with google voice . I mean at the end of the day I am very happy with this purchase and even better cuz I got it on sale . I would highly recommend this tv for a tv experience and video game experience best of.l both worlds in one .

The best TV we have ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is amazing! Sony did an incredible job. It has a great, vibrant, flawless picture and includes a decent amount of settings in the menu. The bezeless frame gives full edge to edge screen perspective and looks very sleek. The functionality is very smooth versus glitchy. We're calling it the best TV we've ever owned. I'm sure you'll love it as well. Although, it is a bit on the expensive side, you get what you pay for and that's quality. We luckily got ours on sale and it was still pricey. My only complaints are, for one, the remote control is giant! It's sort of narrow and thin yet bulky (go figure) and long. If you have small hands, you'll find yourself struggling to use it adequately with one hand as you'll basically have to scroll your hand up and down it. For two, the Hulu app seams to have issues functioning properly time to time as we often have to clear the cache or power the TV off and on to get it to work. I doubt it's the TVs fault but rather a software issue by the app developer just like on a cell phone. Other than that, this TV is perfect! One last thing, the setup process is slightly confusing out of the box, so make sure you pay close attention to the instructions and make sure you have at least two people helping set it up so you don't accidentally damage the screen while attaching the legs/stand. Highly recommend.

Looks sharp whether playing a game or watching a film. Recognizes inputs with no issues and I have not noticed any banding. There is a little blooming on a completely dark screen but nothing distracting. The update promised for HDMI 2.1 has already dropped several weeks prior to the new gaming consoles (xbox series x/PS5).

Great tv like the Android experience but so far has one glitch. Once in a while the wifi stops working don't know why. You have to reset the tv for it to start working again. Great HDR TV for movies. Gaming is above average. I hope Sony doesn't take too long for the update to enable vrr and hdmi 2.1 update for newer consoles.
