Great TV- was buggy, update seemed to fix it
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice TV, bought the hi-res soundbar so both are controlled by the tv remote, but had a couple issues. First off, the tv looks great and works great. The trim, location of the ports, resolution and brightness are great. I run brightness at minimum to 20 because the whites are so scorching in low-light conditions. It’s a nice tv, and I’m glad I bought it. Cons: There’s not much to not like. I did have some app issues, but since the update that came out a few months after purchase, that seems to fixed them. If I’m being picky, I’d like the remote to be Bluetooth, the power cord for the tv to be a flat 90/directional plug (We’re hanging these TVs on walls... get with the program Sony), and the remote is a little goofy compared to what I’m used to. It’s a long remote with a lot of buttons who’s functions are largely built into the streaming services. This con list petty, but it’s all I got. It’s a good TV.

Love this television!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with everything about this tv. I have been researching for a year now before I made my final decision to purchase this particular Sony model. Sony has equipped the tv with the HDMI 2.1 feature, eArc will come with a future update on HDMI ports 3 & 4. In the future I plan to purchase a new A/V Receiver that will also include eArc so that the two devices can work together. The main benefit of eArc is a bib boost in bandwidth and speed. This allows you to send higher-quality audio from your TV to a soundbar or A/V receiver. I also plan in the future to buy a PS 5. One of the other features on this TV is that it features a dedicated Game Mode for a smoother, more responsive gaming experience. The color and the picture of this television Is awesome. The audio built into the TV are not too bad, but would be so much better to add a soundbar or a Surround Sound System.

Sony don't play
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Sony TVs, the picture quality is the best to me in my opinion. Samsung TVs are right up there, but people get Sony for picture quality pretty much. These are pricey so if you catch it on sale jump on it.

Fantastic 4K HDR TV.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic 4K HDR TV. Great quality TV comparable to high end OLEDs on quite a few levels. Also supports HDMI 2.1 for input 3 and 4 (firmware update was release in October 2020), which makes it a great match for the PS5. Can’t beat it for the money!!!!

Sony Knows Displays
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our Samsung had started failing with several large white circles on the screen. Given the problems and far shorter than anticipated life we opted to try a new brand of tv. In steps the Sony and man oh man am I glad I did. This television is far better than my previous 800 series Samsung. Granted things may have changed with the latest modes I’m still very happy with this decision so far. The picture quality is amazing with top notch upscaling and color that is just spot on. This set has the capability of 120Hz which I won’t use but it’s nice to know it is there if I do need it. With only a couple of days under the belt of this review take it as you will but I’m feeling all positive after what I consider a large purchase and I ha e zero remorse. If this continues I will stay Sony, this has me excited about tv all over again.

Almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Great color out the box Amazing upscaling AndroidTV (very responsive as well) ATSC 3.0 Tuner HDMI 2.1 coming via update Great blacks with minimal blooming Fast response time with no blur/trails Cons: No smooth gradation/low bit rate color banding Low Dolby Vision brightness Remote doesn't light up Dark scenes will show dark blobs at times Corners a tad dark Typical VA panel off axis viewing Overall for an LCD its an amazing picture. Smooth Gradation is the only real flaw that should of been part of original software. Fix that and I'd give a 5 star review. Spoke with Sony rep that said all their info for this TV shows it should have smooth gradation. After about 20 mins of hold he advised me to wait for an update but couldn't confirm details of update. Just that I'd be happy with it. So I guess we will see if they remedy it. All the other cons are just inherent to LCD. Dolby Vision brightness has been fine for me since I have a fairly dark room during the day, but this is not gonna be an ideal tv for extremely bright rooms. The upscaling of 1080 content is fantastic. Save yourself the $3 a month on Netflix and cancel out 4K :) Response time is insane fast and does cause some stutter on slow scenes. You can get this removed by using motion smoothing which has been really good in my limited use of it. The amount needed does vary by content. Seen next to no artifacts from smoothing and you can get it set low enough to have little to no soap opera effect.

New 4k HDR TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Landed on this model after doing quite a bit of research to upgrade an old 1080p Vizio 55" to a new 4K HDR TV. First off, this is not an OLED and doesn't compare. OLED TV's are in a league of their own so if you want the best picture quality possible, OLED is the way to go. If you're looking for something a bit more affordable with great picture, this is a great option. I was deciding between Samsung Q70T and Q80T as well as the Sony X950H. Landed on this model as it was more affordable than Q80T and had better specs than Q70T. Tough call between X950H and this model but came down to the fact that this model will support HDMI 2.1 (future firmware upgrade) and I didn't need the Xtra Wide Angle feature since my viewing area is not incredibly wide. When this 900H model is on sale (less than $1k for 65"), the value can't be beat.

What a TV!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We upgraded from a Sony 46" to this 65". Our original Sony was roughly 9 years old and never had a problem. We still have it. We went bigger because my wife wanted to go bigger during the Pandemic. So after a little research I went with this one. What a nice TV! Great picture on movies on discs, blu-ray and 4K blu-ray. Even a couple DVDs looked great. Black are definitely black. You want Smart TV, then this is too smart! "Big Brother is Watching" because everything is on here. And don't worry....there is no camera on tv. Our only problem we may have.......my wife thinks we should have went for 75".

Excellent HDR Experience
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! I now understand why people pay for a Sony TV. I decided to go with this set before the reviews came out for several reasons that fit my use case. Trusted brand Sony makes higher end TVs with top of the line video processing which has become one of the primary reason to buy a newer TV in my mind. Android TV The most open smart tv platform. Support for nearly every app out there. Can install the free internet based tv apps and build your Sony program guide to have hundreds of channels. And also supports Google cast to easily send content from your phone to the TV regardless of what phone you have. Also note that the OS will be updated and is super fast. HDMI 2.1 Still missing from the set as I write this, but this feature has been advertised for this set from Sony and will come in an update before end of year. After taxes I paid roughly $1500 for this TV and don't regret it one bit. It has made me want to rewatch any content I own with Dolby Vision enabled. Specular highlights are visible even in bright rooms. Highly recommend this TV for 2020.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 11 year old Panasonic plasma finally quit and my lovely wife bought this as a replacement and gift for a special occasion. I had been looking at the X900 series for a number of reasons, gaming (PS4/5) near the top of the list but also 4K HDR, "game mode", and motion clarity, 2.1 HDMI and of course their reputation for quality. It offers a lot of features for the money, some of which are only (currently) available on much more expensive TV's. The picture is stunning, it so good it makes some of favorite shows look weird and you can actually tell how cheap some of the sets are. It also took me a day to get readjusted to how much snappier games play in 'game mode'. Its a brilliant TV, very easy to set up and we're really very pleased with the purchase.

Sony is the king of Tv's
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is just too good with my Ps4 pro. It's unbelievable the difference between my 1080P TV and this one. Netflix and Disney plus 4k HDR10/HLG is insane. This TV also has Dolby vision and Atmosphere which looks amazing and sounds amazing for family movie nights. You need to do a bit of tweaking to the picture in each settings (Standard, Cinema, Dolby, etc). The picture out of the box is not the full potential of this TV, that's what a lot of people miss because they don't know how to calibrate it then think the picture is bad. The bad reviews honestly freaked me out. I bought the 5 year warranty on the TV just incase so I don't end up a victim to any of the common issues. That way if the TV is unfixable I can get my money back. So far the TV has no issues though.

Sony 65 inch 900H
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice tv, excellent color in normal tv mode and movies in 4k and hdr, just take the time to set up the adjustments in the settings. I watched a couple you tube videos on color adjustments and then tweeked them to my own linking. Out of the box the settings are pretty good. You will have to go through the wi-fi set up if you decide to use it, but everything is strait forward, Nice assortment of apps, Just take your time abd learn what this tv can really do it will be worth it. I looked for a couple of months and overall this set was overall the best for the money, I paid 1199.00 on sale and am pleased, yes other tv's can come close for a few hundred less but in the many reviews i read it was worth spending aliitle more.. A few reviewer's stated this was the best for the money in 2020...

Great Sony X900H Series Upgrade TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all I am a big Sony TV fan. I have always owned one and never had any trouble with any of them. I had not purchased one since the 1080P TVs came out in the early 2007s. When I first turned this on it was a beauty to watch. The picture quality made the people and sceneries come alive with great colors. It works great with Netflix, Hulu, You Tube and other Apps. I just bought a 4K HDR Sony player and will be hooking that up along with a stereo surround system. TV has plenty of HDMI (4) connections. So watching movies will be a blast. I think that the one thing I noticed is that watching dark type movies can be a little challenging, if you have a room where sunlight comes in. But then maybe most TVs will have this challenge. Other than that it is a great TV!!

Great 4K TV at a really good price.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am usually a Samsung person. I've had several of their TV's. The prices were really high and I had helped a friend with a purchase of a new TV a year ago and went with a Sony so I looked at this one and the 950H. I don't game much but I wanted the capability for next gen gaming systems which is why I chose the 900H. This also has Dolby Vision which the Samsung TV's do not. It seems to be more widely used than HDR10+. I've really enjoyed watching Netflix and Prime Video with 4K and HDR content. I had a 6 year old 60" Samsung before with 1080p and I didn't know what I was missing with the excellent picture and colors. I also purchased a Sony soundbar with this that has full Dolby Atmos capability which sounds great and connected easily via the eARC HDMI.

Exceeds expectations. Inky blacks
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Something you'll see often when looking at television reviews is a focus on black levels. OLED being the top dog at this time. Of course it doesn't have plasma to compete with. Even with local dimming many LCD panels will have blacks that just don't cut it. Oh wait... The Sony x900h just walked in and slapped you in the face proving me wrong. This tv has less dimming zones than others but you would be hard pressed to tell. The blacks are incredible and the bloom is almost imperceptible. This tv is fantastic and only better if you can get it on sale. Anything you've heard about blurriness has been fixed with the firmware update in November. HDMI 2.1 is working. Howver we are still waiting on variable refresh rate as of 12.3.2020

Happy with purchase for the money spent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty colors and clear picture. Black levels are exceptional when the backlighting is off (obviously), but only so-so when its on. It can be blindingly bright. So bright that I keep the backlighting setting at its lowest, though my room tends to probably be darker than most. The four corners are always dim though with a 2"x2" area at each corner that is noticeably dim. I did not use the stands as they are quite far apart and would not fit my table, so I purchased a center-foot style stand that is working well. DCRM (sp?) did not like my older AV receiver too much, so I ended up purchasing a new Sony receiver that works very well with the TV. Motion seem to flow well, but I have occasionally noticed stuttering. I'm not sure that's from the TV or the source.

Excellent Price to Performance
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've gone through several tvs prior to this one. Lg CX, Vizio P 2021, Samsung q70t, Lg nano 90 and 85, Samsung q90t were all on the list. While I think the 900H offers the best value it doesn't make it the perfect TV. It has more than a single HDMI 2.1 port unlike the Samsungs. This is critical if you plan to use more than one console or pc for input OR if you have an hdmi 2.1 receiver. Its unacceptable to only have one port given how expensive the Samsung tv's are. If you do only need a single port the Q70t offers the best value. Color reproduction is excellent. The Vizio and LG Oled exceed this by a fair amount however Sony's processing and Reliability seem to be a notch above. My Vizio started having problems within 2 weeks and some LGs had issues with flickering/snowy screen with inputs. The HDR on this TV is decent. Sony has a feature that enhances the brightness in areas of the screen which in my personal opinion almost brings this to Oled level. The brightness of laps or small details are brought out extremely well giving you an HDR experience on regular content. Motion handling is indeed excellent. The response time on the TV and input lag is very good. I have yet to notice any trailing lines with dark to light content. Very impressive. The backlighting on the TV is very good. While the Sony does have fewer zones, the way they are lit for whatever reason doesn't create as stark a contrast difference as many other TV's with FALD. Its not to say you don't sometimes see the sections however its a much smoother transition between the edge of the zones. It also does a a decent job and not oversaturating the color in the zones the dimming is active. I can best describe this as when a persons face is far from a light source in a room their face ends up with almost a single glaring skin tone. The TV mitigates this pretty well. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of android TV. We have another Sony TV that is 3 years old now (no problems what so ever) and the interface is laggy sometimes. It drove me nuts despite it otherwise working. This TV is certainly much faster and is not nearly as painful. I still think Roku TV is among the easiest along with LG and Samsung. So downsides with the TV, these are unfortunate and let these issues be the deciding factor for you. Some of us don't mind them more than others. Vignetting (darking in corners) is absolutely present. Its definitely noticeable and if it bothers you I would pick another tv. The tip of the corners are almost black on a white screen. I honestly don't notice this as normal shows have bars. Normal content that does fill up teh screen such as movies or games doesn't really make it all that noticeable as the colors, contrast, and brightness are constantly changing. Some games even add this affect so again, determine how much this bothers you. DSE (dirty screen effect) is present. I don't feel that its that bad and personally needed to run a test to see this. I can see some contrast changes on a white screen in sections while playing moving content. So it probably is not the best TV for hockey. This is primarily a gaming screen and for shows. I rarely notice this but if it bothers you I feel like the Samsungs faired a little bit better and LGs in some cases. Overall when this TV just reached $969 for the 65" I was very pleased to price match this. It is among the best offerings considering the features and Sony's excellent processing. I thought the whole "Sony's superior processing" was nonsense but this TV has been the only one with its X-tended dynamic range to bring brightness accents close to an Oled. It was really nice to watch familiar scenes back and go "WOW, its almost like Oled". Before I go, I just want to reiterate that I do feel Sony's quality in components are excellent. I don't always like their choices i.e. android tv but our other Sony Bravia x850e is on almost all of the time. The picture quality is still excellent and its holding up now over 3 years. This is obviously limited to my own experience I just haven't heard anything bad from anyone else. You'll notice they don't make super cheap TVs and in this case you do get what you pay for.
