This Sony Receiver was very easy to setup, it has an awesome graphics user interface.. It has 4k upscaling on it which I immediately noticed a difference with my Sony Bravia TV.. I have all Polk Audio speakers running, and it sounds absolutely stunningly amazing! I love it and I can hook just the TV up HDMI input and use the other inputs when needed and the sound comes right through.. Works with my wireless computer network to play music and view photos.. My only con about it at all is that you can't play movies over the WiFi network just music and photos.. But other than that this Sony Receiver is awesome! I would highly recommend this receiver. Works with my phone too with Bluetooth and screen mirroring which is pretty cool and just awesome! Like I said I love it!!! Great investment!

I am a Sony Snob who owned a Sony receiver so long before replacing it, that didn't even have HDMI ports! It was still functioning fine but I was ready for an upgrade. I researched like crazy, even viewed this model in store to look at the connections in the back. Looked at others as well, like this one for all the components I wished to connect. Watched for a sale & when it happened I bought it. The Pass through technology is great. I can play music from my iPhone thru my surround sound speakers via Bluetooth. The surround sound separation is amazing. I sometimes look behind me during a movie or TV show because I think I actually heard something in the room! Ease of switching from Satellite to Blu-ray to Bluetooth to Game a pleasure. The only problem I have experienced was pairing with an iPhone a could of times. It eventually worked, will watch that.

After using my roommate's Sony receiver for a couple years, I decided that it was time to get my own. Excellent sound through my surround sound system. Am setting up a second zone for my patio, which I can only assume will be a breeze. The SongPal app is great for controlling it via WiFi or Bluetooth. Connected Apple TV, Cable Set Top Box, BluRay 4K and old Record Player.

The Sony STR-DN1060 is incredible. The sound is great and it looks great. That should be enough for most - but if you are looking for a modern receiver that has Bluetooth, Network capabilities (wired and wireless) on screen display (way better than previous models) this is a no brainer.
It also has 2 HDMI outputs that can be different at the same time - for instance we can have XBOX One on the TV in the media room and our PS4 on the TV in the adjoining room even though its in the other room, it also has 5 HDMI inputs on the back and one on the front for quick access.
With a decent speaker setup this thing sounds incredible, add in all the bells and whistles and you have a winner.

It was easy to connect to my surround sound. The instructions that came with the receiver were very helpful. Connecting to the receiver through Bluetooth on my phone is a great feature. This product has also worked great with my 4k TV.

The STRDN1060 has more than enough inputs with 5 Rear HDMI and 1 Front HDMI along with 3 component or composite video inputs. The front has both HDMI and a usb port that can be used to power a streaming stick. Once everything is plugged in, It has a user interface on the TV to guide you through the setup of audio settings. The sound easily fills an 18' x 18' room at minimal volume. This receiver has the option to transmit audio to bluetooth headphones. The sound is better on bluetooth versus the RF wireless headphones I previously used. This unit also has two HDMI outputs which can be used to send a signal to a second room or a projector. I found the instruction manuals to be lacking and had to go online to get more detail on features.

Bought this unit to replace a 2 year old Denon that locked up while trying to do a firmware update. So far, this unit works well with casting and Bluetooth connections with computer and iPhone and was easy to set up. The SongPal app works fairly good, use it to control zone 2. One thing I don't like is that you cannot control zone 2 from the remote control, you have to use the buttons on the receiver or the app. It has a very simple remote, but I don't think zone 2 control buttons would have been a big problem. Other than this one issue, I am very happy with the unit.

Out of the box, this amp was very easy to set up and operate. I had the afternoon to set-up a home theater environment for a party. In just about an hour and a half, I had the speakers tweaked and a wonderful sound for the home theater. Operated it from my iPhone throughout most of the evening. For its price point, I'm impressed.

I purchased this receiver to go in my secondary entertainment room. I have a STR-DN1040 connected to a 4k TV in my primary living room and wouldn't replace that unit with this one. The Dn1060 has less HDMI inputs than the old unit. The other issue is only one of the HDMI ports is HDCP 2.2 compliant. If you have a 4K TV and want to, at some point, connect a bunch of HDMI 2.0, 2.2 compliant things, you're limited to one. Also no Dolby Atmos or next gen DTS format.
The sound is great. The remote isn't too bad (I'm using a Logitech Harmony Remote but set the unit up with the stock remote). For most people there are more features than most will use. Despite my complains, I recommend this product unless you absolutely need the things mentioned above.

Bought a Denon, but returned it. Got this Sony instead. HUGE Difference in sound, with the exact same speaker setup. The Graphical User Interface is very clean. Much better than the monocrome of other brands. It does support Dolby Atmos. Support for ceiling speakers.
How it handles non Dolby Digital media is its strong point. USB in the front, takes usb thumb drives, and external HD's.

This Sony receiver fits in great with my secondary audio and video set up . My main system utilizes an SonyES receiver which I love , this receiver gives me most everything my ES receiver does while adding 4K and Bluetooth / AirPlay features and works well with my rack of Sony audio/video components .

Really great features for home theatre. I upgraded receiver to ensure that all of my connections were truly 3D and 4K compliant. The pass-through connections work like a charm and this receiver does a noticeably better quality job of upscaling my non-4-K sources.

Nice unit. It was on sale for a good price.Need to download the manual on line. Still learning all the options and features. Went on sale a couple days after I bought it. Best Buy honored the the new sale price and I saved an additional $161.00.

I am pleasantly surprise at the ease of use and set up of this receiver. So far it does exactly what it claims to do. Just be sure to use the ARC HDMI port on receiver and TV if you want them to cross communicate with each other.

I got this to use for a 5 speaker surround and 2nd zone 2 speakers (outside). It works well but the 2nd zone has to be done at the receiver (no easy options on remote unless you delve deeper into settings each time). Not that user friendly for a second zone (although it is nice to be able to play music outside while someone is watching TV in zone 1). Wasn't an issue for me but you can only take advantage of the zone 2 if you only use 5 speakers in zone 1. Sound quality was good enough for my setup. Works well with sony tv and 3d blu-ray player.

I'm enjoying this receiver... It has enough power to support my Klipsch floor speakers... This receiver has allot of options and settings that I'm still figuring out... The only thing that has been very disappointing is that the Bravia Sync doesn't work with my Tv... (65xbr850c) That really blew me away... Sony's close to the top of the line 2015 receiver is not compatible with one of Sony close to the top of the line 2015 4k Tv's...Unfortunately, that means I have to use 2 remotes... Hopefully, they'll fix this issue with an update...

After two weeks, I've had a chance to evaluate this unit pretty thoroughly and I'm very happy with it. Sound quality (both tech specs and subjectively) is excellent. Lots of amp power; strong tuner gets stations clearly over the air with only the supplied antenna. I chose it partly because of the many input options, and found they're even more varied than I knew because some jack functions can be reassigned to suit your needs. Speaker settings and sound fields are also programmable with a lot of options. It takes some time to get familiar with all the options, but even out of the box the unit sounds great.
