My old receiver stopped working and I needed a low cost alternative for the wharfedale evo speakers as a temporary solution. This Sony actually does a pretty good job with sound processing and plenty of power to push the speakers. I wish it had Bluetooth, but you get what you pay for.

This is a work horse, we have used this product for business application for around 2 plus years it has never failed, easy installation. Very high Japanese quality although not manufactured in Japan. Sony holds the podium on top position. Definitely recommended.

I recently moved and the only casualty was my old 5/1 Denon receiver. After reviewing surround receivers to match my old Boston Acustics speakers, I settled on the Sony. Set up was a snap. Popped in a blue ray movie. The sound stage and clarity of separation is impressive. The picture on my Sony XBR TV is outstanding.

The setuyp on this unit was easy to set up. Took out the old unit and hook everything up in a few minutes. The speaker swith and on / off button are in the same area and when I had everything set up, my wife hit the speaker button and when I came back it cause me some confusion.

I was replacing an older 1990s model sony reciever because I needed HDMI inputs. This was a perfect solution.

Needed to replace my sound system. I shopped around and found this one. Got a great system for a great price.

So far so good. My last receiver just stopped working. I cannot complain about the sound coming out of everything we hooked up to it. Plenty of ports and everything seems to work fine. Remember a receiver is only as good as the speakers that are connected to it.

got a great deal on an open-box receiver. i added a 4-year best buy warranty. works great with my tivo, blu-ray, apple tv and fire tv. and i've always been happy with the quality of sony products. i'm very pleased with my purchase. i highly recommend it if you want a receiver in the $200+ price range.

Device works great and helps to produce great sound from the speakers. Getting the video/audio input from the HDMI input from my CAT TV is a bit tricky at times and not as 'smooth' as I would envision it should be, but overall a great purchase for the price.

The system performs as advertised, this is a good thing. The set up and connections are easy and the mic. set up really works. If you are documentation oriented, they could be more clear. I di not give product a five star because everything counts including the paperwork.

The sound quality is crisp and clear. I gave it 4 stars because you need to purchase extra wiring in order for it to work properly, and the sales associate did not inform me. Therefore, I had to make a second trip to the store. I'm not a techy so I didn't know beforehand.

Have not had the time to use the pen, but everything is proceeding as scheduled.

Great profuct for the price.I was looking for a receiver to connect to an older turn table & gaming consoles. Had to purchase a $11 pre-amp. But everything was in my budget & works well together.Other receivers priced out to about $500. Did not want to spend this amount for this project.

I was looking to upgrade from a 2 channel receiver without having to spend a ton of money. The functions are very easy to use and I haven't had any issues. I gave it 4 stars because it is missing a Bluetooth feature. But other than that, I am happy with my purchase.

Got this to replace an older Sony RGB component AV amp. The transition was seamless. All speakers connected one to one per output. HDMI is much better quality. Paired it with Blu-ray player and hdmi wireless to tv. Was able to add chrome cast directory amp for better sound on movies.

Still learning about all the options, this works well and is just what I needed. I only wish I'd purchased the next level of product so that it could be connected to two zones....I should've consulted Best Buy before I installed. That said, it's good quality and works well in my living room.

yes you can have your picture sent through the receiver to play onto your tv BUT it doesn't fully support 4k weird right? When we tried to change the volume the screen went black and would show the volume picture on the tv and then would flip back once it popped off, after some research I was able to find out that my 4k picture (coming from my xbox one s via HDMI) was too much for the receiver to output. So we had to hook up the sound using optical cable and using HDMI for the picture into the tv and it works like it should. Yes it is annoying it doesn't fully support 4k on all devices or under certain conditions but yes it does work and makes good sound quality from my view.
