Great all-around
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Zero negatives. Picture is very high-quality. You absolutely get what you pay for in a Sony mini LED. Local dimming makes for good contrasts in blacks. Easy set-up. Google interface is simple, swift, and intuitive. I added a plug-and-play Sony soundbar, as built-in audio in any TV isn’t great. Higher end models the picture jumps off the page, but the cost is very high just to get a slightly better image. Unless you’re a hardcore gamer or money is no concern, there isn’t much of a reason to upgrade beyond the Bravia 5, IMO. On the other end, there is a steep drop in picture quality to the Bravia 3 (I bought one and returned it). If you don’t want to drop $1600 on the Bravia 5, consider a cheaper brand. The $800 TCL or whatever has its drawbacks, but typically image quality is not where corners are cut. If you’re new to 75” TV’s, be REALLY careful on the install to avoid a broken screen. This is about 35% heaver and bulkier than a 65”. Read all directions before you start, and follow mounting bracket instructions to a “T”. It is possible for two tall and strong persons to hang it, but 3 is best.

Huge Screen, Great Picture

The picture looks super sharp and colors pop, whether I’m watching sports, movies, or streaming. Even regular HD channels look better than I expected blown up on a 75” screen. I don’t really use the built-in Google TV since I just hooked up my Apple TV, but everything plays smoothly and looks great. Setup was quick and simple, and the size alone makes it feel like a theater in the living room. Only downsides I’ve noticed: HDR isn’t as bright as some of the more expensive models, and you can see a bit of blooming in dark scenes. Also, in a really bright room you’ll catch some reflections. Not dealbreakers for me, just things to be aware of. Overall, super happy with it. For the price, you’re getting a massive screen and a really solid picture. Totally worth it if you want that big-TV experience without going full top-end.

If You Want the Best

I made the decision to buy this television based on the stellar performance from the 65" Bravia 7 I purchased approximately one year ago for the living room. I looked at a lot of televisions and thoroughly researched the specifications of all the leading brands before purchasing Sony. The 75-inch Bravia 5 was on sale and a few hundred dollars less than the Bravia 7, so I decided to pull the trigger. After calibrating the Bravia 5, I literally cannot tell the difference (other than the size of the picture) performance wise. I'm a bit of a cinephile and also have a high-end 49-inch LG OLED in the bedroom and a 2025 Samsung QLED 50 in another room, and I can say with certainty the Sony Bravia's blow them away. The difference in 4k picture quality is not only noticeable, it's pretty dramatic.

Sony keeps getting better

The TV is very heavy, so have at least 3 people help with setting it up. Picture quality is good, the sound quality is mid. You definitely need a sound bar. As we were told when buying the TV, they focus more on quality of picture instead of sound.

The competition at this price point seem to offer better specs, however, they don't carry the name that Sony does along with ease of use features. The picture quality and brightness is honestly better than a reasonable person would need, aside from comparing face to face with other screens. Though other brands like Hisense or TCL may offer better specs, it doesn't feel like we got a noticeable worse TV with this Bravia 5. Overall, a great TV and would highly recommend for anyone except pixel snobs and those needing the absolute best of the best.

Good picture

By default Variable Refresh Rate was disable, this is needed for any next-gen gaming system. Also need to tweak the color settings to get them to look right, which is a first for me, with this being my 3rd Bravia series TV. Can't say how the sound is, as I exclusively use a Dolby Atmos soundbar with it.

Sony Bravia 5 has everything

The brightness has improved from the Bravia 7 Model. Sony said they heard us giving us a richer picture and the Quality this TV is great for my well lit room but nothing beats watching it during the evening hours. I can't say enough about this TV but for the money you can't beat it.

With a little tweak in the settings you can make it even better. My only gripe is that the UI lags a little, but im sure that can be fixed with an optimization update.
