Customers are impressed with the Alpha a6000's camera quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising its lightweight design. Many also appreciate the camera's features and find it offers good value for the price. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and low-light performance and autofocus could be more reliable. The telephoto lens's autofocus functionality has also received some criticism.

I was originally looking for a Canon DSLR camera but didn't like the weight and bulk of them. This camera has the same if not more features and is almost the size of a point and shoot. The pictures look amazing and my wife and I are far from professionals, we took great action shots of our sons baseball games.

worth the price, it's a little complex as far as all the features go (as in there are way more than i feel like i need personally) but i had no problem pulling it out of the box & taking high quality pics and video then watch them via the gallery

I was upgrading my older Canon rebel t1i and discovered that many pros had moved to Sony. I found the a6000 and realized I could get better IQ while downsizing. Looking at Canon and also taking my SD card to test the fuji xe2, canon 7d and sony a6000 showed the strengths and weaknesses of all. All in all the sony was much better at low light. I delayed the purchase thinking the sony lenses weren't great, but I shouldn't have. It takes some time to sort through all the features because there is so much adjustability. Theres even face registration and priority.
The kit lenses are ok for the 16-50, and actually pretty good clarity for the 55-200. It turned out to be a good portrait lens with a decent bokeh for most use. In real life use the f4.5 max aperture is Ok. The higher Iso performance is good enough to compensate. I plan to add the sigma 19,30,60mm lenses which will cover the shallow depth of field duties.
Focus is fast with rare misses in really low light. Face detect and wide area tracking work well. I have been impressed.

Im not a professional photographer but I am an artist and lover of the natural world. So picture quality is important to me. I wanted a good camera to capture the beautiful places I've been since moving to Southern California from Michigan. I did my homework beforehand, picture quality was important and so was price. I researched alot of cameras before settling on this one. You can spend less and get good quality ...but I had certain things I wanted a 1 inch digital sensor raw ability and the flexibilty to change lenses. I got all this and more without spending a fortune compared even to some Sony bridge cameras. One has a great super zoom lens but it is $1500.00 and the lens is fixed for example.
You can easily look up the specs and pro reviews to get the details.
Im very happy with my choice the 2 lenes are great for starting out I can upgrade as funds permit if I desire.
My salesperson was great answered all my questions if he didnt know took the time to find out.
A good buying experience and product.

This camera was a big step up for me. It’s easier to use then I expected. The phots are great. I find changing lenses a little inconvenient and with the two choices that come with the bundle I do have to change lenses frequently. Once I get use to it, probably not a big deal.

Primarily I use a Canon 5D and needless to say, the Sony a6000 will not really compete with that in terms of image quality. However, the a6000 is portable and capable enough that it is my tool of choice when I am just out and about shooting. The menus are easy to use and setting are simple to access. I really enjoy the mirrorless cameras though I do wish battery life was a bit more lengthy. Overall I love having this camera as a secondary option to the much bulkier Canon 5D.

I bought a kit, Sony - Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm and 55-210mm Lenses - Black, it also came with a bag. Both lenses are working great. Amazing picture quality, very easy to use, and very convenient too. I definitely would recommend this Mirrorless Camera to a friend.

got this camera to replace a very old cybershot camera. right out of the box it was so easy to use. first batch of pic's at a wedding on the beach came out great. I still need to do some figuring out about all the settings it has. I have only used the 2 auto settings so far and pics came out great.

Got this for my wife who wanted something to take upcoming graduation pictures. This camera takes beautiful pictures and is easy to learn. I recommend the monthly classes available at Best Buy since they dramatically increased my wife's understanding of the features found on this camera.

I give it a 5 star as it is a Great Camera for the price. Very easy to use as this can be considered a point and shoot camera. My only problem is when having to remove the SD card, it is small, tight space and difficult to do so. Otherwise I love it!

Takes awesome pictures and has the ability to let you be very creative with your photography. I was concerned about how small it is but turns out I really like it and now carry most of the time with me. I wish I had a little holster to carry it on my waist.

I am satisfied with the quality and the value of the a6000. First photos have great resolution, indoors and out. I bought this for the large sensor. BUT, out of the box and powered up, my heart sank: With nearly every movement of the camera the LED screen went black and then came back on. I believed I might have a defective unit with broken electronic connection somewhere. It turns out that the viewfinder is not properly engineered and it has its own electronic beam streaming toward your face that blacks out the LED screen when you bring the camera anywhere in front of your face as you might normally do with no desire to utilize the viewfinder. The work around is to turn off the viewfinder. This then becomes unwieldy when you step into bright light and want the viewfinder. You have to go back into the menu and turn it on. There is no toggle to switch it on or off with one button. So this seems to be the price you have to pay to get the a6000 sensor and two kit lenses at a good price, tough not cheap. Btw, none of the several review videos I checked out online before purchase made any mention of this glaring problem which everyone must face. It also has a very noisy mechanical shutter and no silent mode. I did not return the camera because it’s compact size is a superior feature.

Got this camera during Black Friday. Was going for a Canon but for a little more I bought the Sony. So glad that I paid the extra money. This thing takes amazing pictures in low light situations. Picks up colors in low light not seen by the naked eye. Also found out I can use my old lenses with the help of an adapter. I can even use my smart phone through an app to store and use as a remote for the camera.
