I bought this camera for use with my Samspace81 classic car youtube channel. I could not be happier. Excellent 4K video quality, the camera takes remarkable still photos on Auto settings. Battery life is fair. Camera feels solid in the hands, doesn't overheat with 4K video at all for me.

This camera takes such vivid photos. The quality is so clear and the fact that they have so many different lenses you can use with it is awesome.

I had an entry-level DSLR (Nikon D3300) for a good 2-3 years. It was a great camera but I never really added new lenses and just stuck with the kit lenses. It was an all around good solution that served me well until I realized that I had exhausted the kit lenses and would have to buy better ones. I ended up purchasing a 50mm prime lens and enjoyed it. However, 1/4 of the photos I took were blurry. The lens didn’t have VR and the camera itself doesn’t either. Enter the Sony a6500. The image sensor is the same size and resolution but Sony’s added processing, stabilization, and size make it a formidable upgrade. My entire camera setup, including three lenses, now fits in a bag half the size of what I used to carry. There are many online professional reviews that go further in-depth but the a6500 is a great upgrade over entry-level DSLR’s. Lowlight photography is awesome. I can now shoot in lowlight conditions without a tripod thanks to the stabilization built into the camera and lenses. The camera stabilization even work with lenses that don’t have Sony’s OISS including 3rd party lenses (with or without adapters). The size of the camera is key. It’s weather sealed and extremely portable. The electronic view finder is easy to see and gives you an instant glimpse to how your photos will turn out. You don’t have to take a picture and adjust settings later, you can do that and see exactly how your photos will turn out using the view finder or the display. Although it is a touchscreen display, you still use the dial to navigate the menus. However, the a6500 offers touch to focus. You can also use the touch screen to change the focus area when using the view finder. It’s interesting and the touch to focus is smooth enough for shooting video. As with any camera, there are some cons. First, Sony lenses are expensive. A good zoom lens will set you back $600 and a megazoom lens will be twice as expensive. Second, it would have been nice to fully use the touchscreen for everything. Third, although the screen can flip up and down, it’s not fully rotatable. You can’t take selfie and see what you’re shooting through the display. Overall, this is my favorite camera. Burst shots are fast and great for sports, kid, and animal shots. Lowlight photos are above and beyond. The a6500 is a great, high-end personal camera that’s worth the price of admission despite a few setbacks.

Easy camera to adjust to. Although not for beginners it’s a very good camera for low light and quick videos.

I've had every major release of mirrorless camera from Sony. I've had DSLRs from Canon, Pentax and Nikon. I keep coming back to Sony! The a6500 has addressed all of the performance issues that the earlier generation cameras had and is really a high quality shooter. I highly recommend it - the 16-50mm kit lens will get you by initially, but you'll find yourself wanting to step up to a more full range all-in-one lens and a nice prime lens (it's an expensive hobby for sure)

This mirrorless camera captured my heart with it's clear photo resolution, advanced features and fast frame shooting feature! The best thing I can say about the unit is the design which is beautiful. One thing I noticed about using this camera is that the screen does not pop out for camera-faced viewing which is getting more modernized and necessary in these types of cameras.

This camera proves the premise that really size is not document. Compact, powerful, precise focus, superb image quality and advanced controls from a professional camera. If you travel with children and lots of luggage or go somewhere that is impossible to carry your full frame, the a6500 and kit lens is the right choice.

The sales expert talked me into switching from my Canon to a Sony and I couldn’t be happier. Glad I made the switch. They gave me a good deal and threw in some extra accessories. I mostly use the A6500 to record video, interviews and moving spots on my gimble. Works flawlessly.

Ever since I bought this Camera Me and Wife loved it. the fact that this is all the camera we need for anything. It takes good picture in low light and with the Sony - E PZ 18-105mm f/4.0 G OSS Power Zoom Lens its even great since its a glass series and takes stunning pics.

I actually down sized from fullframe for this camera. The autofocus, sharpness, and many other features makes this a seriously under rated camera.

So after doing my research into mirorless cameras I found that the A6500 is considered to be among the top 10 under $2500. When reading about he others I disregarded anything over $1600 for just a body, this limited it to just a few cameras. Of those the A6500 was the only real option for me. The camera shoots fantastic photos and in auto the camera does a fantastic job of figuring out what kind of shot you are going for. If you are looking for a great camera that gives you the quality of a professional grade camera easy to use features this is a solid choice. I have not used the video yet but from what I have read the 4K beats out all of the competition.

I purchased this camera and kit lense before a trip to Washington, D.C. I’ve been a Sony shooter since before Sony’s camera division was known as Minolta. The quality to come from this small shooter is unreal. It’s very easy to handle and get the shot you want.
