I purchased this camera for my grandson for Christmas as he is just starting to get interested in photography. He was very excited when he opened and especially when he found out he is going to be able to take under water pictures with it. My grandson and his friends are doing small videos for U Tube and this camera will help them with candid shots.

This one was recommended to my by one of the employees over the GoPro and have been surprised at how great it has been. the steady feature works really well when attached to a car.

Easy to use camera with smooth optical imagery. Very light and waterproof package. Sound recording is improved when used outside the case. Picture quality is average, good results in lower light levels, such as home with normal lighting.

My grandson, who is much more tech savvy than I am, tells me that the Sony camera is a superior product. The store associate told me the same thing and now I believe it!

Got this camera as my point view video camera mounted to my helmet on my mountain biking adventure.

This camera is very easy to set up and is beginner friendly!!

ultimately, you get what you pay for. The pictures weren't clear, and we were sold by the associate who insisted this was as good as the GoPro. Being Sony, we bet on them. After reviewing our vacation footage, this camera went back to the store and we got the GoPro instead.

Pretty decent camera. We took it with us to disney.

I recommend this product. Easy solid and clear audio and video.

I was unable to tell if the camera was recording when I wanted it too.

I bought this camera because the lower end model of the GoPro was no longer being sold. I got this camera on sale, was shipped to me a week later and when I recieved it, the underwater housing case was broken. Brought it to my nearest Best Buy and they just gave me a new one. I bought this camera for a vacation I was going on knowing I'd be using it for underwater footage. Something must of been wrong with the underwater case they gave me because it kept fogging up inside, ruining my footage. I went snorkeling, and eventually water got into the underwater case and the camera broke entirely. Thankfully I had bought insurance because I was able to end up just returning the camera and got my money back. Definitely not worth purchasing. If you have the money, just buy a GoPro.

This camera is small and really meant for mounting on bike or helmet more so than videotaping. Doesn't come with a wall charger. There is no LCD screen or viewfinder so you can't tell what you are filming and setup is not user friendly. Access covers seem pretty flimsy.

Purchased the Sony Action Cam after looking at these type of cameras for several years. My wife and I take A LOT of motorcycle trips and thought this would add some flexibility to our recording of trips. My wife often videos from the back seat with a digital camcorder. Pros: got it on sale & open box as well; very small and light; HD picture is nice; flexibility in recording (HD, slow-mo, time-lapse, etc.) Cons: Used to a 5-hour battery on my current camcorder, so this battery will no doubt require and extra to be carried along; the fish-eye effect on close images is a little weird but worth it for the panorama.

Bought this for a kayaking trip. Set it up before I left and could not get it to sync when we got there.
