Purchased by suggestion of associate who sold me on purchasing this item over the go pro & I don't think it's user friendly at all. I would suggest going with a go pro over this item.

When you compare the quality of video between the Sony AS200 and the Go Pro 4 Hero, you will see a big difference. YouTube the results for yourself.

I like the image stabilization but the fish eye effect is just too much. And the underwater housing is difficult to use. Bought as 300 instead.

Quality is good during the day, but grainy...

Purchased this on Black Friday 2015 when it was $100 off. I previously had a GoPro Hero4 Silver which had incredibly high picture/video quality. Purchased this with high hopes that it would perform the same or similar since it is also 12MP. Unfortunately this isn't quite the GoPro Hero4 Silver. The video quality is not bad, but has a noticeable amount of noise/graininess in the image/video. The built-in GPS is awesome because it can be used with the Sony software to overlay speed and track information onto the video - awesome for all kinds of action. For about half the price, this isn't bad.
Pictures at night via this camera are practically useless unless there is a good amount of light on the subject you are filming. Pictures come out very shaky despite the seemingly quick shutter at time of shooting.

Good, but get a 32g card, not the 64

Camera is used for work, and sometimes requires being left in place on it's own while recording. In this case, the battery may just run out. Well, if you have the 64g card installed, something about the file-writing protocol doesn't record the file if you don't physically press stop. I learned this the hard way, by having the 64g card show zero data after an extended recording where the battery died mid-recording. But, if a 32g card is used, the file writes every ~10 minutes or 4gigs as a separate-but-attached series of files. The most you'll lose is ten minutes of footage with the 32g.

Hi,
Overall I've had a great time using this camera and it had great results with using both the time lapse and video function. I think it has a great lens. The battery for me lasted around an hour for video.
The user interface on the camera however is less than perfect but not very difficult to use once the menu screen order has been gone through a few times. Definitely read the user manual for this one.
I did have some trouble using the software on my tablet for video editing and making the time-lapses. But I was able to make it work after a few tries and restarts.
Overall I was still highly satisfied with this camera and would like to get another one in the 4K version.

Video quality looked like a web cam video. Hard to figure out, no user manual, just some piece of paper that really doesn't tell you anything. Went to sony web site to find more info on how to use this thing, no help there either. I returned it and bought a Gopro.
