Excellent Sony Blu-ray As Expected

I love Sony products, especially Sony DVD players, TVs, and Blu-ray players. I own many and all are outstanding and this model is no exception. Infact my Sony XBR TV that i bought in 2008 at Bestbuy has a superior picture to my friends Samsung bought in 2018...i kid you not. This Sony Blu-ray has a small footprint which is exactly what i wanted. It also comes with a HDMI cable included free. It has all the latest digital processing including upscale of DVDs. Sony on screen menus are the best and easiest to navigate.

Then just turn it on and pop in your disc. Easy, peasy. If you like old movies -- like holiday classics-- or CDs and get tired of renting them --this is for you. Buy once play as long as discs last.

Its a nice basic Bluray player

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So the reason i am giving it 3 stars out of 5 is because the bluray player is very basic and has blanked out on me a couple of times with my tv just turning black from its screen with no audio or video signal just a plain black screen forcing me to disconnect the bluray player from the wall outlet and reconnecting it again to get it to work again, this is exactly why i do not like to prematurely give reviews and wait till after owning it for a bit. I always give things a couple of weeks before reviewing so that i can give a real feedback from a buyer. Now is this player bad? Not really, when it works the videos play great basic dvds and blurays play ok but the connectivity for internet support to get updates have to be done through an Ethernet cable because this player even at its current price doesnt support wifi. Kind of disappointi g considering its price. This have changed so much with technology and to have to pay even more than before just to get wifi connectivity for firmware updates is ridiculous. Well regardless to the internet connection it is a decent bluray player that is compact and i do recommend it if you are just looking for a basic alternative player than can play your bluray and dvd movies, its compact so it will fit great it a kid's room or even a RV or motor home with a small to medium size tv. Its not bad but it's not good either. This player would have gotten a 4 star rating from me if it wasnt for the random times thw screen turns black when trying to play a random bluray movie and having to go through the trouble of unplugging the power cable because the player freezes and wont even eject the bluray lol so the first star removal is for the lack of wifi connection for firmware updates and the second star removal is for the reliability of the player. So i recommend it if you are ok with what i mentioned above but dont recommend it if you are looking for something reliable where trouble shooting may be necessary. Maybe tey the next step up in the line. How ever this seems to be the new normal thing for "affordable" bluray players still around in the market.

Good DVD Player with ONE FLAW.

The reason I rated it a “4” is because it DOESN’T have the feature that allows you to shut it off, remove the disc, and when you put the disc back in and turn the player back on, it will continue playing and pick up where you left off.

Great player for the money

Would recommend this player, it is a good performer especially for the price. Not overloaded with bells and whistles but I prefer a more simple machine to operate.

Very solid Blu-ray player

Works great out of the box and does what it needs to. This is not a 4K player, but I know I would need to spend at double to get that, so I’ll be okay with my HD content.
