Mainly uses it for BluRays and DVDs, is discovering streaming via Netflix, seems to have no trouble navigating her way around this machine. Super lightweight and compact. I'd recommend it over the $15-$20 cheaper options, eliminate the "I probably should'nt've cheaped out on mom's Wifi/BluRay Player" blues..

I am not an app guy or a smart device afficionado, in fact I don't like that stuff, and I turn it off. But this thing works great for me. And it plays very nicely with my SONY TV and SONY av receiver. The three interact and figure out what is hooked up and what I am doing and then get things going.

Fast streaming player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace my 6-year-old Sony Bluray that I use mainly for streaming content (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu). I don't use the 3D or 4k upscaling, but figured the extra horsepower would give the streaming a boost, and I'm not disappointed. That said, my older Sony had a better user-interface. This one is more confusing, unfortunately, and there are not robust settings to improve that.

After setting it up I found that I like streaming through this unit much better than directly from my TV (which uses an app). An unexpected feature, which I like the best is that the UHD Remote can do basic commands for my TV as well! Now I only worry about one remote (and didn't have to purchase a universal remote).
