Great features, picture and sound. Don't really use any of the apps though because my Sony tv has them. But everything works as it should smoothly and the 2D - 3D conversion (3D simulation mode) is pretty cool. Wish it was as small as the others because it doesn't fit in my entertainment cabinet so I placed it on top under my Tv. But I'm not complaining awesome buy it!

I am replacing a Panasonic BDP 55 series blu-ray player, the expensive one with 7.1 analog channels for audio which broke down twice including dying blu ray pickup. The new Sony with 4K video and HDMI for audio is manifestly bettery than my old player for audio and the video is excellent too. Connecting it was a snap although one needs to be careful in choosing outputs (especially related to PCM transmission). The difference between the video and audio among outputs is easy to see and hear so you just have to pick the one that looks and sounds the best. The online features are extensive, although I probably won't use any. I would recommend this player especially if you are not a geek or perhaps are an older person who doesn't want to mess around with electronics but would still like great performance.

Sony finally made a good player. Most of Sony's line is plastic and cheap, which is fine if you have a $1000 Tv or less.. If you have a $3000 Tv or more. This player fits the bill. 4k is still creeping along, but will hit mainstream later this year and the next. I have seen the Oppo 103 and while its a nice player, its not worth $500.. It is build in China. The 7200 does a outstanding job with upscaling Dvd content. Great buy at $200 . A great alternative to the Oppo. If you have a 4k Tv, get this player and you will be satisfied with the results.

While this is a 2014 model I dedcided to buy this because of the dual processor and the improved sound quality which I enjoy with my Marantz surround sound system. The dual process allows the unit to function faster. It has all the typcal internet apps and functions. This unit doesnt dissappoint and great value for $199. Sony will be introducing new HD4k units later this year, so if you cant wait for those this is the unit to buy. Upscaling is same as the 2015 models, but 2015 models dont have the dual processor and the improved sound processor.

    Outstanding Blu Ray Player

I purchased this player to replace a 6 year old Panasonic Blu Ray player. I originally tried the Sony 6200 and really liked it, but every time we turned the player on the disc eject would open. We have a couple of dogs who get kind of rowdy when they are playing and we were worried that they would end up hitting it and breaking it off. So we took that back and looked around at other players. While we were still researching we saw that the Sony 7200 had been released and it just so happened that they had one at a BB close to me so we decided to check it out. By reading a lot of the reviews on both the 6200 and 7200 you get the idea that they are basically the same unit with a different housing. I'm not sure if that is completely true or not, but we really like the looks of the 7200 over the 6200 and it is a huge plus that the disc eject doesn't open when we turn the player on. We have had the player for almost 2 months now and have not had one issue with it. I know it cost almost twice as much as the 6200, but for us it was definitely worth it. The picture quality is outstanding and all of the streaming content has worked flawlessly.

I bought this to go along with my LG 65G9600. Let's just say this was a great choice. It's able to play the blu-ray movies I have in 3D and also upscale them to near 4K quality. My viewing experience has benefited from this. I haven't needed to use the apps since my TV can do that. The only one they both lack is Cinemanow. I have a bunch of movies on there that I want to see but can't outside of my laptop. Most people will be good with Sony's other 4K upscaling blu-ray player, I just wanted the best. Is this right for most? No. But those that want the best and superior quality will enjoy this player.

Easy to use, good construction. Remote is not backlit or full size making buttons hard to find in low light. Up-scaling of non Blu-Ray disk on 4K TV is good,

Bought recently. Works great with bluray and 3d discs. Not sure why would I spend more for other player that costs 500 to 600. The picture quality is absolutely flawless. Streaming is great however I notice the playler rebooting itself in the middle of the streaming. I use wifi, could be my speed is law. Need to investigate.

I needed a replacement for my old Sony blu-ray. I actually spent less on this top of the line model than I did for the old one. I needed it to be able to stream videos from my PC and since it supports DLNA, it worked perfectly. The menu is virtually identical to the old blu-ray so installing it and setting it up was super easy. Hope it lasts as long as the old one.

Bought this player to replace an older Sony model BDPS770 unit. This new model Sony BDPS7200 has improved features and capabilities. It also has a slightly improved picture exhibited on high end Sony Bravia home system. The old player BDPS770 had early issues with the remote control and hope it does not occur with the new BDPS7200. Of note, Best Buy labels both of these DVD units as part of the "Magnolia" premium home theater assortment.

I held off for quite a while before replacing my older, very good Sony Blu-ray Player. I am very picky & I wanted a good unit, a newer model & with a lit read out window to show me time lapse when watching movies. Most Sony models do not have this feature, had to upgrade to a Magnolia product. I watched for a sale, it went down $50, I grabbed it. It loads disks so fast, was so easy to setup, pairs with my new Sony Receiver for an incredible surround sound. Picture is amazing. Worth the higher cost without a doubt! I love it and we use it very, very often.

I have to say the ability to play SACD, Blue-Ray 3D along with video up conversion for DVD's for under 200 bucks is a deal. It loads fast, easy to set up and navigate, internet works as well as my slow satellite connection allows and it looks great with my system. It performs above my expectations as I was considering 400.00 as a starting point for my next mid level player purchase. I have an older HD TV non 3D but the picture is the best I have seen on this TV. with either blue- ray or DVD. The sound is equally impressive through the coaxial connection on my older Onkyo receiver and Infinity Alpha speaker system. I would definitely recommend

I bought this player after read a few review and talking to a few of the sales reps. Works great! It is a lot bigger than the other Sony Blu-Ray player i have. I'm not sure if this is because of the 3D or upscaling capabilities. The only negative I can say about it was we got ourselves in this weird menu and we couldn't get out. I ended up turning it off and back on again and it's working fine.
