Customers appreciate the sound quality, comfort, and long battery life of these headphones. Many also highlight the convenient Bluetooth connectivity and lightweight design. While some users found the carrying case and controls less than ideal, the overall positive feedback points to a strong value proposition. The impressive bass response and extended range were also frequently praised.

Good sound quality for different music

Its a good pair of headphones if you like different types of music. It catches the highs and lows at a remarkable pitch. Unlike other headphones that only catch the lows, such as the bass in the song. These headphones catch the higher frequencies that most don't really catch. The price was a little bit out there for these. I would say the highest I would pay for these would be 100 maybe 120. Over all it was a good buy and I'm content.

Wireless gives you freedom and no more tangled wires. It is very convenient to use especially if you have a phone that has NFC. One tap on nfc logo pairs up the device with your phone on first use. Next time you tap, it turns on the bluetooth headphones. Yes, no need to power up the headphones manually. Very convenient! Music it produce is very clear and enjoyable to listen to. Bass on par with Sony Mdr7506. Battery is also great. Ambient noise isolation is fantastic.

The headphones a light and very comfortable to wear. The sound quality is very good and they pair with my I phone very easily. Controls are a little difficult for fast forwarding and answering the phone until you get used to using them. Overall quality for the price is very good. Most headphones of this quality are at least twice the price.

Great Alternative To Bose

If you are trying to choose between these Sony's and the Bose it's not entirely straight forward. Gonna hafta see which of the featues benefits and pricepoints matter most to you. The audio quality is a massive stepup from the cheap headphones / earbuds included with devices, but not quite as good as the Bose will deliver. Yet the Sony's will continue to function as headphones (albeit at lower audio quality) when the battery runs out where the Bose are dead til recharged. Further the Sony's run on common AAA size where Bose are sealed units. For myself I need to have Noise cancelling WHEN I need it period and have large set of high quality rechargable AAA Panasonic Eneloops and swap out as needed. The build quality on both are great, quite comfortable, and was quite comfortable wearing either. The Sony's are pricey, but a meaningful step down from the Bose price point. Obviously I chose the Sony's but which pair is right for your needs comes down to what features benefits etc matter in your own usage.

Perfect For Passive Noise Cancellation
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
As a university student living at home with my parents and siblings I find it very difficult to find some peace and silence. Especially with my bedroom right next to the living room, the TV is always on, my 5 year old sister always jumping and playing and there's so much going on. Sometimes I would study at the library and at other times it wasn't practical for a commuter. So I went to a BestBuy store and picked these up.
If you're an audiophile these will not satisfy you, if you are a bass lover it will not satisfy you. Keep in mind these aren't Bose headphones so you won't get that quality that they offer; however as a university student on a budget this was the next best thing.
However if you are an individual that wants an amazing amount of passive noise cancellation for the price these headphones are the way to go. Just with the headphones on and nothing playing the noise that I can hear from the outside is reduced by 50%-70%. When I begin to play something at 7%-10% I can pretty much tune out everything that's going on outside my room. Playing at a volume of about 20%-35% (with the door closed) it would take someone yelling pretty loudly for me to hear the slightest sound. I've never needed to use these headphones over 50% volume. When I study the volume is anywhere form 1%-5%. When I"m consuming media its about 15%-25% and that's absolutely sufficient for my taste. These headphones can get pretty loud.
I brought these primarily to get some noise reduction from my environment and it nails the job. These headphones are amazingly comfortable to use, there's padding on the top headband and of course on the earpieces. I believe they're made out of leather, maybe not genuine leather. However when you first touch it you get that cold feeling which feels great.
In my opinion these aren't the best looking headphones but they go great with just about anything and it mixes well with my room. I"m surely not going to move around with these headphones as in using them on campus because it seems like too much to carry around (I have a pair of Sony earbuds for that). The earpieces don't fold inward like other headphones; however that wasn't a problem for me. I do recommend getting warranty on the unit just in case if anything happens!

I've had this for about 5weeks and I love it. I was especially impressed by the long battery life. Stayed on for over 3weeks with moderate use. The play/pause/next/back controls work very well. I use them mostly to control music from Pandora on my ipad. Sound quality is decent. Doesn't get distorted at higher volumes and the bass sounds good. Also like the fact that it automatically turns off the power (only required for blue tooth) when you plug in the audio cable. Very nice and eye catching design. Fits well and feels comfortable around the ears. Tried using this to receive a call once and I couldn't quite make out some words. To be fair though, the other party is not the loudest person on the phone and has an accent. But still not something I will recommend for phone calls. Looks durable but I haven't had them for that long so we'll see. Spent $200 on this and I have no regrets. Use them almost everyday.

This headset is amazing. I could bombard you with positive rays of praise radiating from my joyful experience with these. But I think this could easily be my first recommendation for anybody wanting to buy a good pair of headphones. Noise canceling works great and if you play music or whatever it is that would be playing it overpowers the minute sound left. Noise cancelation blocks sounds in the range of lower sounds best, then sounds higher then vocal talking range, and then talking range the least. This may sound bad but it leaves a clear ability to hear someone so long as the music is paused and there aren't a lot of people talking (high school cafeteria is a good example of the place not to be) and then even with noise canceling still on you can hear clearly what they are saying, but not loudly. So just click the convenient pause button and you don't even have to take them off. All in all, the one feature that's quite effective with one pro or con depending on your view of it. Ambient adaption. One button click tells it to analyse ambient noise and switch to the best noise canceling program of three. Although the one pro and/our con is a loud noise (such as a car door closing next to you or hitting a bump in a bus) will lower the volume and not change any setting or anything like that, but it just lowers the volume for a couple seconds then goes back up. It's a safety feature i believe. And it doesn't happen often. Even hard to trigger purposely. But safety based on the assumption a loud noise is a possible hazard you might not be aware of if the nose cancelation is on. Overall. Make the decision based for yourself. Oh and if you travel much. It has an adapter for the airplane Jacks to connect both to the one cord. And also. By experience, most comfortable headset I've ever had, even over gaming ones and many Bose headsets reaching 300 dollars.

My husband has Beats and I have the Sony headphones and we both agree the sound quality is comparable if not better on the Sony headphones. The fact that the piece covers the whole ear instead of sitting on top of my ears allows me to use them while lying in bed and be able to turn my on my side without crushing my ears. Price is also a great value for the quality. Will definitely be buying this brand again.

For hearing aid use

These have the correct shape and size to work with hearing aids, and also trigger the coupling in them. Most headphones will sound weird or will be uncomfortable or cannot be worn at all with aids. For some reason, this is never paid attention to, but it is very obvious Sony did that, although they are not advertised as such. They sound the same, coupled or not.
I used to be a pro DJ, so I am very familiar with what works well (for non- aid use). Nobody uses real leather anymore, which leads to sweat.
Otherwise, these are reasonably comfortable and sturdy. They also have adequate sound level when used with Android devices, which is hard to engineer in a decent set of 'phones. However, bass addicts will pass, although the sound is decent for audiophiles. Not the best ever phones from Sony, but second best, good for the price.
Many 'phones are made in a way that causes them to fail quickly. These are decent. Normally I would have avoided Sony, but check these out. The carry bag works well when the 'phones are folded flat, but they are large.

These headphones are a lightweight, comfortable pair of over-the-ears headphones. I use mine at work for long listening sessions. Part of my job involves studio audio, and these provide plenty of clarity, especially for the price. I replaced my Beats Studio with these when they broke, and have been very happy with the purchase.

I bought these headphones primarily for listening to video recordings of lectures. I have hearing loss so I the over the ear design was great because I could get full clear sound at lower volumes. I have been wearing these headphones for a month straight and the comfort level is amazing…they are lightweight and rest on my head with no irritation. I bought several pairs of different headphones initially to compare them and other brands had comparable sound quality but some of the over the ear models tended to get uncomfortable after a while (similar to a hat that is on too tight). I got them on sale and I think they are worth the money. There is no active noise isolation and without sound outside noises can are still audible but if I was going for true noise isolation I would have had to spend double or more. Also the fact that they come with 2 different detachable cords is good because you always have a back-up if something were to happen.

The Sony are well worth their money and, at half the price, a compelling purchase. IF you have the ability to EQ a little, or you really like strong bass, then they're amazing. If you prefer a "lighter" sound and have the extra money, the Bose are great headphones. For me, the Sony paired with my iPhone are good with the built in music app, and great when paired with the Equalizer app after some fine tuning (-6dB at 80Hz and +2 at about 4500Hz). It's amazing when paired with my macbook with an eq in iTunes

Researched and debated between the Sony MDR10RNC and the Bose. Just couldn't justify the price difference initially and after using the Sony during cross-country flights, very pleased with my decision to purchase the Sony. Very comfortable during multiple flights (one segment was 4 hrs), great sound, and noise cancelling was sufficient to remove engine noise. Also liked the idea that if the battery died, which it didn't, the headphones remained useable.

I was looking for an over the ear, comfortable, decent sounding bluetooth capable headphones and these Sony headphones gave me what I was looking for. I use them at night as to not disturb the sleepers. The headphones provide great sound and are comfortable. You can adjust the sound on headphones and they were easy to pair to my bluetooth device. I have not experienced any problems with the headphones.

I have particularly sensitve ears that do not like to be touched. These headphones by going around the ear instead of either resting on the ear or in the ear as a lot of other headphones do, decreases the discomfort and allows me to wear these for extended periods of time. Onto the sound quality and noise cancelling. Out of all the around the ears headphones, these had the best sound and bass that I tried on. The noise cancelling feature is a whole lot better than Bose as Bose when the nosie cancellation was turned on, created a pressure on the ears. In addition when the battery dies on the Bose headphones, they WILL NOT function even as headphones. Compare that to these where even if the batteries die and the noise cancellation no longer works, these WILL STILL function as headphones. Overall these are the best headphones I have used to date.

I have had recent trouble with sleeping on long plane rides and decided to give these noise cancellation headphones a try. To my surprise I was able to get some rest and they work great as I had to be tapped on the shoulder to be woken up or to get my attention from the flight attendants. Could do better with wireless connection to devices. Overall good product that fits comfortably and does what it's expected to do.

Very light weight old style headphones, the earpieces rotate 90 degrees so whole head phone package will store flat in the provided case. The sound quality is excellent. The short cord provided is intended for use with a personal audio device (on your person) - if you want to connect to an old style stereo system, you will need an extension cord with the appropriate adapter. Great sound for the money. I use them in bed all the time.

Use these headphones while I'm doing my treadmill and watching Netflix. Noise cancellation works great to eliminate the ambient noise produced by the treadmill. Has much more of a bass sound compared to the Bose. I actually purchased both to try out and ended up returning the Bose because I prefer the deeper bass sounds when I'm listening to audio.
