Soundbar will work fine depending on the TV channel
We are glad to hear that your HT-B600 Soundbar is functioning, but we are sorry to read that its performance seems to vary depending on the TV channel you are watching. This sounds like an inconsistency that might be related to the audio formatting of the broadcast itself (like Dolby Digital vs. standard stereo) or a specific setting on your TV.
We would be happy to look into this with you! Please consider reaching out to our customer support team so they can help troubleshoot the connection and settings between your TV and the soundbar to ensure you get consistent, optimal performance across all channels.
Thank you again for choosing Sony and for sharing your experience.

Sounds OK but not the best out there but still pretty good purchase for a discounted price
Thank you for your feedback on the Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 6. To enhance your sound experience, we recommend turning on the [Sound Field] feature using either the BRAVIA Connect app or the Sony remote. This setting activates surround sound effects, providing a more immersive and presence-filled audio experience.
Additionally, please check the [DSEE] settings. This feature improves sound quality by restoring the high-range audio frequencies that are often lost in compressed sound sources, resulting in clearer and richer sound.
For optimal performance, we also suggest connecting the soundbar using a high-speed HDMI cable. This type of cable supports higher data transfer rates, ensuring the best audio and video quality with minimal lag or interference.
We hope these tips help you enjoy your soundbar to its fullest potential.
Thank you for considering Sony!

not as good as I thought. not as clear as my previous sound bar and sub
Thank you for your feedback regarding the Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 6. We are sorry to hear that you find the audio to be less clear than your previous soundbar, and we would like to offer a few recommendations to help improve your listening experience.
To enhance the audio performance, we suggest using the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app or the Soundbar remote to access the following features:
Sound Field: Turning this on allows the system to output sound with a surround effect, providing a greater sense of presence in the room.
Voice Mode: This feature is specifically designed to emphasize dialogue, making it much easier to hear voices clearly.
For more detailed instructions on how to customize your audio, please refer to these official guides:
We hope these settings help you achieve the sound quality you are looking for.
Thank you for considering Sony!

The bass on this product is too loud. We’ve already tried to update the settings and we can barely hear people talking, it’s all background noise. Thinking we should have gone with a different brand.
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback on the BRAVIA Theater Bar 6. We're very sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the bass being too loud and overpowering the dialogue—that's certainly not the experience we want for you, and we understand how frustrating that is!
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6 has a dedicated 'Voice Mode' feature specifically designed to enhance dialogue and make voices stand out from background sound. If you haven't already, please try pressing the VOICE button on your remote to activate this mode.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your Sony audio experience, our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9am - 9pm ET and weekends 10am - 8pm ET.
Thanks for choosing Sony!

THIS BUNDLE PAIRED MAY BE GOOD FOR A SMALLER ROOM, BUT IT WASN'T QUITE ENOUGH FOR OUR LIVING ROOM; IT ALSO HAD SOME POPPING AND WE DIDN'T KNOW WHY. WE RETURNED IT AND UPGRADED TO THE BRAVIA 8 BAR WITH A SEPARATE WOOFER.
Hi WJJW, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced with the HT-B600 bundle, particularly regarding its performance in your living room. We regret any inconvenience caused by the popping sound you encountered.
We appreciate your decision to upgrade to the Bravia 8 soundbar and we hope it delivers the quality sound you were looking for. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continually strive to improve our products and ensure customer satisfaction.
Thank you for considering Sony products and for your feedback. Best regards, Estefany

Sounds great when the sub works. shuts on and off. I have to hit the side of it to get it to come on then it shuts off a few minutes later then repeat.
Hi Zimm, Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear you love the sound of the BRAVIA Theater Bar 6 when it’s up and running, but we are incredibly sorry to hear about these power issues. We’d love to help you get this fixed, so here are a few troubleshooting steps to try:
-Make sure the power cord is pushed all the way into the back of the bar and the wall outlet.
-Plug the bar directly into a wall socket instead of a power strip to rule out a faulty surge protector.
-Unplug the bar from the wall for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
-Check that the ventilation holes on the subwoofer are not blocked.
Thanks for considering Sony products and bringing this issue to our attention. Warm regards, Estefany

This Sony sound system has amazing sound and even comes with a subwoofer to get all the bass you want. The size is not huge like some sound bars. This one comes in around 37 inches long, 2 1/2 inches high and a little over 4 inches deep. The subwoofer is pretty heavy and of good size, so I have that on the floor near my TV. The sound bar will fit nicely on a lot of TV stands or can be mounted to the wall which I have done right under the TV so I can use it for the TV and since I have a music app, the sound is awesome for just listening to music off of the TV.
The look is stylish and simple. It is covered in a black metal mesh that doesn’t affect the sound and hides the speakers. There is an HDMI port on the back to connect to your television. This is the only connection, so make sure you have an HDMI Arc port on your television, otherwise this will not work with it. It even comes with an HDMI cable!!!
There are no buttons on the sound bar itself, but it comes with a small remote control. If you lose the remote, Sony has the Bravia Connect App to control it via your smart device, so I advise downloading the app when you set it up. You can change the volume and other settings to optimize your sound system on either. The app even gives tech support and gives access to the latest software updates.
Dolby Atmos is a technology that is surround sound without all the added fixed speakers. This gives you an amazing sound experience that is realistic and you feel like you are right there in the movie, TV show or at a concert.
There are other audio features on this sound system also, such as the clear voice algorithms. This is good for people who have a hard time hearing vocals because it makes the vocals clearer to hear. This also comes with the Multi Stereo mode. This makes regular stereo sound feel richer and fuller.
The sound bar also has Bluetooth technology so if you want to listen to music from your phone or tablet, you can easily set it up.
I recommend this sound system for the rich sounds and immersive audio. With this price range you really get what you pay for and then some.

The Sony BRAVIA Theater Soundbar is an excellent home theater sound system. I have Sony systems already in my home and love them, so I had high expectations for this soundbar and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. For my review I tested and compared it to my complete Sony HT-A5000 theater system (5.1.2) and my Sony HT-S2000 Compact soundbar (3.1). The sound quality on it is top notch, it can get booming and loud for large living rooms/ theater rooms and for smaller spaces its crystal clear without shaking the walls, and the bass from the subwoofer is rich and deep. It has the Surround Sound Field technology which when paired with tweeters/rear speakers creates a 360 soundscape. Set up and getting to learn the controls is insanely easy even for those that are new to the Sony line of products. One little detail I loved about this soundbar is the included little base pads or feet, which might not seem like a crazy big deal but its actually a welcome addition since my two other devices didn't come with any. There are only two minor details I didn't like and they're so minor they don't even knock a star off. For one, the controller is the same as the HT-S2000, so either remotes could control either device. This means I can't have them powered on simultaneously or nearby because one remote would try to adjust both at the same or the other when not intending to. Second, there isn't a more easily recognizable way to know when Sound Field is On or Off. When toggled only a little light blinks on the soundbar, the sound quality is audibly different so it's not impossible to tell but compared to my other two devices which show (S.F. On or S.F. Off) when toggled its a minor detail that seems weird to change. Overall, I love the Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar, it's sound quality is top of the line, it's so good it's bumped out my HT-S2000 from the TV it was connected to. I would absolutely recommend it if you want to take your home theater to another level.

I got this sound bar no even 2 months ago and the subwoofer stops working, I took it to the Best Buy in Braintree and they said is going to take 4 to 6 weeks to repair. I paid $650 for this …. No more Sony and no more Best Buy.

I've been using soundbars for over a decade now and throughtout the years have tried quite a few. With every generation, I've always been impressed with the sounds profile. They've been getting better and better. So when getting this Sony Bravia Bar 6, I was curious on how they where going to improve or do better than my other soundbars. Well, what Sony did was not revolutionary but I think improved on all the little things. Let's start off with the design. The bar itself has a great low profile build, it's a matte black which is my preference. My last soundbar had a shiney finish and my eyes are always catching the glare when everything was turned off. The corners are rounded and the back is flat. Also the 2 input, HDMI EARC and optical. The back has a cutout(?) that you can plug your cables in but still be able to mount the soundbar flush against the wall (there is only 2 inputs btw). The soundbar itself has only a power button, which I'm kinda not liking. I'm old so always want physical buttons just in case something freaks out. It does come with a remote with all your basic functions but to really do anything, Sony expects you to use their app. To set up the soundbar, you will need the app. It gives you step by step instructions on how to set it up and helps calibrate the speaker system to the room you put it in. The subwoofer is a good size, meaning not too large and not too small. The punch it puts out is really incredible for it's size. Speaking of sound, I have a medium size living room, which is where I placed this soundbar, and it did an incredible job of filling room with sound at 50% volume. I have yet to turn it up more than that because the wife says it's too loud, LOL. Although I didn't get that feeling of sound behind me, I felt it everywhere else. The soundbar also is bluetooth capable meaning you can play audio through all your other different devices, but that ain't nothing new. I'm really happy with this soundbar and it being a Sony, I'm pretty confident, this is going to last awhile.
Hi yogidang, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Sony HT-B600. We are truly honored to hear that you appreciate the improvements we've made to our soundbars over the years. We're thrilled to hear that the sound quality has exceeded your expectations and filled your living room beautifully, even at lower volumes. It's great to know that the punchy subwoofer has made a positive impact on your listening experience as well!
The HT-B600 boasts a sleek low-profile matte black finish that blends seamlessly into your space. With HDMI EARC and optical inputs, plus a cable management cutout, installation is a breeze. Enjoy user-friendly physical controls with a power button, remote and app that guides setup and calibrates sound for optimal audio quality.
Thank you for choosing Sony! Best regards, Estefany

At its best, this is a great sound system. The bass is full and the sound is rich. However, I am continually finding myself having to adjust the volume to be louder or quieter while watching a movie. This is especially problematic at night as the volume will suddenly be loud during an action sequence and then so quiet you can’t hear well during a following scene. The companion app has an option for Night mode, as well as to limit the variance between the high and low points, but neither of them seem to work sufficiently enough. When I have the audio mode set to cinema, the general sound of everything sounds amazing, but then dialogue is difficult to understand. When setting the audio mode to enhance the dialogue, it works well for that, but then the rest of the audio is less full and rich.
When playing the same movie through this soundbar and previous speakers, there’s a noticeable difference in how ineffectively the sound bar handles changes in the source volume. I’m overall fairly disappointed and the problems I’m seeing can likely fixed through a future update, but in its present condition, I couldn’t recommend it.
Hi Alber, It's fantastic to hear that you recognize the Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 6 to be a great sound system with full bass and rich sound. That certainly highlights its potential, and it's clear why you were drawn to it.
However, we're sorry to learn that you're experiencing those volume inconsistencies. We know that can be frustrating to deal with. Here are some recommendations that can help you:
1- Do a [Test Tone], this is used to check the sound output of the current settings and see whether is being output consistently from each speaker. You can check this by going to the Sound settings of your soundbar.
2- While you're on the Sound Settings you can also turn off the [Automatically adjust volume] option. This reduces volume changes caused by the input signal.
Hi ScottT, We're sorry to hear you're not fully impressed with the sound of your HT-B600 right out of the box. That's definitely not what we want for you and it's a great possibility that a few changes in the settings could make a huge difference.
Here are a couple of things you can check right now:
-The HT-B600 usually has several sound modes (like Cinema, Music, Standard, or Auto). Try cycling through these to see if one better suits your content and personal preference. -If voices are hard to hear, look for the "Night mode" feature in your sound settings. This can help bring dialogue forward.
Additional information is available at the link below. https://helpguide.sony.net/ht/2088/v1/en/contents/022_Adjusting_Sound_Quality_2088.html?search=sound
If needed, please don't hesitate to reach out to our dedicated Sony support team. They can walk through the exact setup and settings of your HT-B600 with you step-by-step. https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=ht

I recently replaced my TV with a Sony Bravia (K65XR80 model) and was extremely excited to get an opportunity to pair it with one of the new Bravia-specific surround systems, in this case the Theater Bar 6 3.1.2.
Right away I'm going to mention that when you are dealing with 3.1 systems there is inherently going to be some limitations as far as the size of the room while still getting decent results. If you are trying to use one in a really large family/game room or something with very high ceilings, you just are not going to get the same experience someone in a dorm room, smaller office, or similar is. So please keep that in mind when looking at ANY surround system. There is a reason there are 3.1, 5.1, 7.1 (etc) systems.
With that in mind, I set this up in my gaming office and what a simple, straight-forward process. No wires, simple remote, the app is very (very) easy to navigate through to get things sorted in a couple of minutes. Having a Sony TV the remote pairs right up with the soundbar so there's no need to keep both out.
You only have a single HDMI connection point, no optical or other options provided. I get keeping things simple, but removing a secondary connection option is something I don't necessarily agree, it comes off as nothing more than a way to save a few bucks during production, but I digress. Not enough to warrant removing a star, but wanted to mention it as it's really the only flaw I had with this system.
The whole range is capable of handling Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DSEE. Coupled with Sony's "Voice Mode" and you have an excellent listening experience on your hands. Plenty of conversations (no pun intended) have been had over the last decade or so about how hard it is in modern films/shows to hear dialogue; "Voice Mode" just about solves this annoyance.
Bluetooth connection of other devices is instant and consistent. There's no needing to toggle on/off, pair/unpair. I have other Sony bluetooth speakers and can confidently say they are one of the best in this realm; you'd think by now this would be a non-issue, but it's crazy that in 2025 there are still products out that that will not consistently connect via bluetooth and require constant "fiddling" to get sorted.
All in all, this is a great little piece of kit. It's small, yes, but it packs a decent punch when used in the right environment. It's Sony, so the quality is there from materials to the app interface, top to bottom a great system for anyone wanting a quick and easy way to get a quality sound experience.
Highly recommended!
Thank you for such an incredibly detailed and insightful review of the BRAVIA Theater Bar 8! We're absolutely thrilled to hear you're enjoying the seamless pairing with your new BRAVIA XR K-65XR80 TV and that the setup process was so simple and straightforward.
It's fantastic that you're experiencing the benefits of Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DSEE, and we're especially glad our "Voice Zoom" is making a difference in clarifying dialogue for you – that's a common pain point we worked hard to address! We also appreciate your recognition of the instant and consistent Bluetooth connectivity, a feature we pride ourselves on.
Your nuanced feedback on room size limitations for 3.1 systems is spot on and truly helpful for other customers. We also hear your point regarding the single HDMI connection and appreciate you taking the time to mention it.
Ultimately, we're delighted you find it a "great little piece of kit" that delivers a quality sound experience in the right environment. Thanks for choosing Sony. -Eliab
