I had tried the Bravia 9 and the sound was ok but did not have the depth even with the sub. The Bravia Quad had a clearer sound and captures all the movie sounds. I have the best sub woofer attached and it does a great job. If you want stands that are made for the Bravia Quad you will have to go to amazon as the stainless steal stand fit the speaker perfectly as it is actually made only for this speaker system. For the ordinary person this gives you an aray of sound. If your a technical geek then I am sure you will find something you want like but all in all the Quad attached to the best subwoofer gives a great sound with music as well. Just remember it depends on how the music was recorded with what type of equipement that gives the best sound. Definately a Buy again purchase. The Quad is easy to set up just follow the directions exactly and you want have any issues.

I was debating about this one since I already have Sonos Arc and a sub for my 65 inch Sony Bravia TV. When we decided to buy the 100 inch TV for the basement, I did not want to go for a sound bar where the front sound typically comes from the center. I do not want to go all out and setup a full fledged AV receiver and speakers either. After watching almost all of the video reviews, I wanted to give it a try. Fortunately, my Best Buy store had one in display but sound quality from the store warehouse was only so so because of the high roof and other noises. Anyhow, just took a chance and purchased it along with Hisense 100 inch.
Installation was done by BestBuy, and it was very smooth. Sound quality is really good for movies. But you do need a sub woofer. Atmos and surround effect is just fantastic. Watching movies with this combo is really awsome.
For music, I wish there is more bass. Also adding another sub would definitely take it to the next level.
I wish Sony fixes this by firmware.

I’ve owned top of the line soundbars from Sony and Samsung and this outperforms them all. The sound field is amazing compared to a soundbar. Absolutely love the Bravia theater quad. Paired with a Bravia 9, whether you utilize the acoustic center sync capability or not, the center channel sound is amazing.

If you want a simple to setup sound system, this is a great choice.
It is on the expensive side but is worth it if you can take advantage of the optimum setup. ie wide separation distance of the speakers and space behind the couch to place all the speakers approx at the same height
Movies sounds are great, but if you are buying this for mostly music it won't be a good value
you do need an extra BASS setup though and there are only 2 choices available

I know the title of the review is weird but this system sounds so good with a Bravia 9 tv and the center channel sync that it has me considering and returning for a full ES receiver and speakers. My knit issue is space which is why I bought this in the first place. It has rekindled my love for home theater sound. It produces jaw dropping sound for the size of the speakers and is a huge upgrade from my Sony HT-7000 atmos sound bar. It is a little on the expensive side and only has 1 hdmi input but other than that you won’t do better with small wireless speakers.

The Sony Bravia Theatre Quad is widely regarded as a game-changing product that blurs the line between a soundbar and a traditional home theater system. It's a "soundbar killer" for its superior ability to create an immersive, multi-dimensional sound field. However, its high price and significant lack of bass without a separate subwoofer are major considerations. It's an excellent choice for someone who values a minimalist, wireless setup and is willing to pay a premium for unparalleled spatial audio performance, but for whom a subwoofer purchase is a non-negotiable part of the total cost.

I like the surround sound experience it provides. Coming from a proper soundbar, it felt a little different missing a center channel. However, after a day, I stopped noticing that. I also added the SW5 subwoofer for a better sound at the low end. Overall, I like it. Wish it were a little less expensive.

This system is amazing and worth every penny. The most surprising aspect is how much depth and richness it adds, without having to be "loud," something lacking in other speaker systems. Even in a smaller-than-ideal space or oddly shaped room, the calibration it does somehow makes the sound seem like it's floating right around your head.
Highly recommend! I had to wait a while for the product but I'm glad my patience held out. It was super easy to setup.

I did a lot of research and listening on sound bars before buying this for my second TV. The reviews were pretty unanimous on the quality of this product and I do have to say, I agree! The only negative is it can only be used with one of two Sony subs and neither one is big enough to really give you good deep bass for a larger room.

Best plug in play system and huge upgrade over A9

I am blown away by the improvements between the original A9 and the new Quad (A9M2). The improvement in audio quality is night and day. A fuller, richer sound. Better bass out of the same SW5 used with the old system and thankfully, no droupouts like with the old. The other major improvement is in the phantom center performance. With the original A9 I had to use the "voice" option to have clear vocals but the Quad absolutely does not need the "voice" function at all. If you are an A9 owner, do yourself a favor and upgrade to this system. It is is better in every way (except I find the display on the control box dimmer and harder to see but who cares). If you are in need of the best plug and play sound system available today that will outperform any soundbar simply because of the wide seperation possible this is it. The atmos is also better than any Samsung flagship bar I've ever listened to. This is worth the price!

Beautiful Product, Disappointing Sound in Our Home

I had a lot of fun setting these up. Sony made a beautiful home theatre in a box with the Quad set!
The aesthetic of the square shape and gray fabric looked beautiful in my living room.
However, we could never get the sound right. The quads, in theory, create a "phantom" center channel because they don't actually have a center speaker.
However, in our space, the phantom center did not work well or would only work for one person in our room at a time. The rest of us would hear dialog coming out of only one speaker, when you want the dialog to come from the center (where the TV is). If you have a Sony TV, you can potentially get around this problem by using the S Center link cable. We don't have a Sony TV, so that was not possible for us.
The wide soundstage was impressive, and that's where these excel over a soundbar.
However, in our room, even beyond the center issue, they never sounded as good as we expected them to sound.
And that's even when we added the SW5 subwoofer.
Therefore, as much as we loved the appearance of these, we had to return them. We went with a Sonos Arc Ultra, with Sonos Sub 4, and Era 300 surrounds and have been much happier with that setup.
If you own a Sony TV or have a more medium to small size room, you might still try these Quads.

Hello today555,
Thanks for your detailed review of the BRAVIA Theater Quad. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! We're glad to hear how fun was the setup process and you're enjoying the elegant design of the system—beautiful, minimalist and aesthetic.
We're sorry to hear that the phantom center channel did not meet your expectations and created a less-than-ideal listening experience for your family. We understand your frustration with dialogue not being consistently anchored to the TV, and we appreciate your insight into how this can be a challenge in certain room environments. The S-Center speaker link is indeed designed to address this by using a compatible Sony TV's speakers as the center channel, and we understand why this solution was not available to you.
It's encouraging to know that you were impressed with the wide soundstage, as this is a key benefit of the BRAVIA Theater Quad's design. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the overall sound performance, even with the addition of the SW5 subwoofer.
We understand that finding the perfect audio solution for your unique space is essential, and we're glad you found a setup that works better for you and your family. We will be sure to pass your valuable feedback regarding the phantom center channel and overall sound performance to our engineering team for future product development.
Thanks for choosing Sony!
Sincerely, Jenn | Sony Social Media Team.

Amazing Sound, So-So construction and mounting

These sound amazing, but the fabric is incredibly thin and fragile. I found the mounting solution easy, but finding a good looking speaker stand for this unique design was a little challenging. Best Buy sells a fixed-height Sanus pair for $150 that looks ok, but is not a good deal. If you have the right room shape, then the flush wall mounts would work perfectly without the need for stands. All-in-all, I am happy with these and they replaced a more traditional Klipsch 5.1 large system. This has a much higher Wife Approval Factor, and they sound way better than I expected for the size. I do wish they came with a center channel, as dialog is noticeably muddled compared to my old system. I have an LG OLED rather than the Sony TVs that augment the center channel from the TV Panel, so that could have improved my center channel experience. But I'm not going to get an entirely new TV just for that feature.
