Frankly, it has been several years since I have had a need for one of these, but picked up some occasional reporting jobs. Consequently, I have only used this a couple of times, but this was priced right. I am not the best with regard to reading directions, but this is pretty intuitive. I have used it a couple of times, and it has worked like a charm. It was easy to use and the sound quality is good so this has been a good purchase.

I'm a reporter and I bought this to record interviews. I considered a recorder three times the price based on reviews, but once I got into the store I couldn't bring myself to fork over $90 when this model was staring me in the face looking no different. Works great and so was the price. I've even used it to record phone interviews and the sound clarity is just fine (I always make sure I turn the volume all the way up on the recorder). I must admit I haven't used any of the filing features, as I erase the recording once I've transcribed it, but for my basic needs, this works well.

This recorder is very useful for my requirements. Good battery life and picks up things very well! The play back is clear and crisp!

Wanted it just to give self notes and love the options to select different folders to be able to determine which recording is which.

The price was right, works great, easy to use. Size is also a big factor,fits in pocket .

I use this device when tutoring students in reading fluency. Hearing themselves is a helpful learning experience. I use the recorder mostly for teaching, but it's handy when I want to remind myself of something. Quality is good, though it's best to have the recorder as near as possible to the source.

I like it's easy handling and use of same, quality of recording is superb, it's size is great for carry on in pocket, battery use is pretty prolonged.

This little recorder works very well, but off loading the file to a PC is not possible. It works fine for a simple voice recorder, though.

Easy to use. Convenient size. Quality of the audio is excellent. It is a great way to keep track of memos without a pencil and notepad.

The recorder was perfect except for one feature that I couldn't get used to. It powers off after 10min of non use. I use my digital recorder off and on all day long. I found it inconvenient to keep waking it up before I could record something. Also, when it shows what file you are on, it doesn't tell you how many files have been used, which to me was uncomfortable. A more expensive Sony show the number of the file you are looking at and the total files that have been used. It also has a function that allows you to control when the recorder will turn off, or allows you to put it in a mode where it never automatically turns off.

I have had no issues with this device since I bought it and I think it was a fair price

I wanted to save a very special voice from my phone answering machine. The sound on this recorder was like they were in the room with me.

This recorder is cheap and does its job well. I would not record music with it, but it is fine for voice recording. Small and easily carried in a shirt pocket.

I found the Sony ICDBX 140 to be simple to operate and possessed unexpected additional features that make its use better than expected. The low price made it a great value.

I use this for recording chorus rehearsals, and I like it so far. Sound quality is good on playback, and it's easy to pause during a recording. I haven't used a lot of the features yet, but what I have, I like. If I could transfer recordings to my computer, I'd give it 5 stars.
