    Lowlight dream

Nice camera that does well in low light. I am impressed by the nice photos I have taken with it. I still get some grainy, blurry photos on occasion, but it is due to me moving. I was able to get a shot in a dark museum of a worker sleeping in a chair. It was almost pitch black in the area he was sitting. The photo came out like I had used a flash or the lights were much brighter. Some grain but acceptable for what I am use too. I added a photo of my cat that I took from a distance. Most of my photos are nice and sharp like this one. Have not had a chance to play with some of the setting yet but for auto and it is pretty amazing how clear, sharp with and accurate the colors are . I have shot a few short videos and all have come out nice. The videos play back very well and play on all my devices with no glitching. I love the long zoom and is one of the reasons I bought the camera. It gets me right in there to get the shot I'm looking for. The only real negative I have is the cameras high cost. I am sure there are other cameras out there that cost much less and give comparable photos, but I am happy with my Sony.

I was lucky enough to pick this camera up open box, and with minor scratches to the screen it was beyond a bargain! Amazing little camera that takes great pictures with two auto modes as well as a manual mode, for when I get a little better at photography! I love the pop out viewfinder and flash, everything is so compact but high quality!!

I have purchsed it for my friend. He wanted Cannon or Sony. Fortunately I have found it for open box item. He changed his mind from Cannon to Sony. Now he is very satisfied.

I love Sony products, I have a full size SLR a350. love it I needed a camera to be able to take anywhere and after searching I found the perfect one the HX90V. it may be small and pricey, but you know that saying you pay for what you get, well in this case it is still true. Suburb pictures just as clear as my SLR. manual pop up flash and view finder a plus. the NFC picture transfer to my smart phone is easy and the best feature since my phone sucks and taking pics. the controls and functions are similar to my SLR, awesome second camera well worth the price. here is a pic of my mug.

Excellent overall. Viewfinder really helps in strong outdoor light. Camera's low light capability significantly reduces the need for flash. Using the flash does not 'wash out' the picture. The fast processing makes getting the picture you want the moment you depress the shutter control--you get the pic that you see in the viewfinder or screen with no worry that the subjects have moved. Sony has a real winner in this camera!

Love this camera. Small but with great features. Light weight, great resolution, long battery life. Love the pop up viewfinder that can be used when it is difficult to see the display screen.

I love the camera, upgraded from a Sony which was 4 years old with a 10x zoom. I like it for concerts and the quality is stunning, video or picture mode. Didn't use all the functions yet, but for my use, it is very nice. In low light conditions, using the flash gives great pictures, but it takes a while for processing, this is the only bad thing I experienced so far.

I was looking for a camera to take hiking without packing my DSLR and lenses. This camera has so many features: EVF, great 30X zoom, easy to use manual focus option, both picture mode and MSAP options. On top of that the camera is solidly built and in a very small form factor (it fits in my pocket). I am very pleased with picture quality. Great choice when I don't want to take my DSLR.

I had the older version of this camera. It was a great camera and so is this one. It has Scene selections (night, beach, mountain, portrait, sunset, etc., I love the sunset function. You can force a sunset before it has set. It has great clarity and has selections that can be quickly changed from single to burst shooting. Pros: It is small enough to fit in your front pocket easily and is rugged. I took it on a cruise and it never faulted. I did not want lug a big camera around in port. This one did just fine. Cons: I bought it because it had a viewfinder and in my job I need to see what I am shooting a picture of. The sun prevents you from seeing the LCD screen. I tried to use the pop-up viewfinder in the sun but it was so small and the magnifications was so much that I could not use it. The grip on the right side of it so you can hold onto it was smaller than my last one and made it harder to hold. It also does not have a smaller area to hold it when using and there is more of a tendency to hit a different setting while holding or handling it. Over all it is a good camera but I am just used to a bigger camera to hold. I loved the pictures it takes.

I bought this model hx90 to replace the beginning model in this line, the hx20, a camera I have used for many years. The 90 has many new features and improvements that I find useful such as the viewfinder, better controls in the scene selection. Overall, it is a camera that a new user will easily love it but will always have something new to learn and discover while a more advanced user will find it a great pocket shooter to easily carry with them while offering many advanced features and controls. It also allows for unobtrusive, quick shots in most situations. My old model hx20 will be donated to one of my many adult kids or to someone who knows that a pic taken with a smart phone does not compare to what one can accomplish with a small, easy to carry Point & Shoot camera. A friend (Smart Phone shooter only) had also asked for my recommendation on a new camera as he was going on an Asian trip and I suggested the hx90. He bought it, took the trip and got great shots that he never could have captured with a Smart Phone. Buy it, you'll love it!

I love the smoothness of the zoom for the pics as well as for the movie setting. The pics are so clear especially for action shots. I was looking for something small yet had a decent zoom for distance shots. This camera is perfect. I have already recommended it to several people.

Camera does everything a small camera needs and more! Best part is the 30 times optical zoom for which we purchased this cam. Cam is a lot more as a point and click cam, in the size of a point and click cam. Cam is nice and light, great to take anywhere.

I decided to get this camera as the one I had was very slow when trying to start and stop video mode or to take a picture. This camera switches between modes quickly and takes excelent vidio and still pictures. I was a little worried about the pop up flash. I think the pop up flash is much brighter than the flashes built into cameras that don't have pop up flashes. it is actually very handy since you know the flash will not accidently activate if you don't have it popped up.

First of all. let say I like this camera, and all of its features. The big negative, is the photo noise issues. I have been a very loyal Sony customers for over ten years. I really like their products. I also own the RX10 and the A6000. Bigger chip cameras, and both are excellent for photo and video. This HX90V not so much for photo, but excels in the video department. I also own the HX20V. In my opinion I see no difference in image quality. I was hoping with this new model it would be better. I have read other reviews saying the same thing. Other than that I really like this little gem of a camera. I got mine as an open box. With a couple of Gift cards plus tax and all for $350.00. This is the price I think this camera should be selling for. One other thing I like bring up, is that this is not a pocket camera. It will fit in your pocket, but Sony even says in its user manual not to put it in your pocket or you might damage it. The first thing I want to get for this camera is a Sony screen protector. Its a must. I have them on my A77, RX10, A6000. I suggest getting the one that is made by Sony. Never had an issue putting them on. So Sony. if your listening please come out with a firmware update addressing the noise issues with this camera..

Good quality image with high-performance zoom The image quality is very good, especially at lower ISOs and at higher ISOs from RAW, burst shooting performance is top-notch, and single-shot AF is blazingly fast. Unfortunately, for one of its biggest selling points -- continuous autofocus performance -- stumbles somewhat when it comes to capturing fast action and other moving subjects, which is quite unfortunate for a high-framerate, seemingly

I bought the HX90V as a replacement for an HX20V which had gotten dust on the sensor that I was not able to remove. I like the smaller, lighter size and longer zoom, and the OLED is essential on this camera. I am still getting used to minor differences in button placement and function operation. Overall, I think this is a great little camera if you want something you can hang on a belt or stick in a jacket pocket and still get great photos, multiple functions and a long zoom. I also think Sony is far superior at freezing moving objects without blur than other brands. The most significant disappointment I found was that the view screen could easily have been brighter so it could have been used in more bright daylight situations. As it is, Sony has made the screen quite dark forcing use of the OLED when a bright screen would have functioned just as well. I also think some functions such as Superior Auto have been over-billed and do not produce results as good as Sony's representation. The final negative I would mention is that I do not like that switching settings such as from Superior Auto to Intelligent Auto or to Scene requires a manual acceptance by pressing a button. In contrast, such settings switches were automatic with the HX20V saving what seems to be an unnecessary action by the photographer. Notwithstanding a few short-comings and a price that would be better in the mid-$300 range, the HX90V is still the best camera in its class.

This is a phenomenal camera in an unbelievably small form factor! Loads of manual control, Zeis lens, 30x optical zoom, very useful EVF, etc., etc. this is a perfect take anywhere, use anywhere camera. It's often said that the best camer is the camera you have with you. This will take excellent pics in bright light and has good features for useful low light images as well. This is a perfect complement to my other, larger camera.
