This recorder is very easy to use and easy to download audio to your PC. The recording is pretty clear even at about 15 feet from voice source. Works well for school and meetings.

Great to keep on hand for unexpected need to record something

It records, it plays back, it has lots of memory, it is small, I can put it in my pocket, instructions are easy, it is easy to go back and forth, it has ability to skip silent periods, battery life is good, it is light in weight, sound quality is good,

Small, easy to use and has lots of space. You can download your recordings on a computer and this will help you know where and when you have taken a picture or notes for a paper etc. Gets the job done at a very reasonable price.

I got this for the purpose of recording lectures in class. It was ready easy to set up. Buttons are laid out very plain. Easy to rewind, delete and record. Battery life is great, it has a memory card slot for removable storage, or internal. This was my first time buying a product lkke this. It's great for students.

As a journalist and freelance writer, I frequently need to interview people face-to-face and over-the-phone. This recorder results in impressive quality, but more importantly, in person, it really eliminates background noise well, allowing me to clearly hear the person I'm interviewing instead of any chaos happening around us. It has a nice capacity, great battery life, and it was easy to figure out without the manual. Awesome product.

Has a lot of memory space, great quality with different settings, and very easy to operate. Batteries that were included didn't work though, but my package was on sale, because it looked opened.. So you get what you pay for. Otherwise great product

This is my first digital recorder, and I love this one. It's a nice, small size, and yet the buttons seem large. The sound quality is good, and it's easy to use. I like the way it plugs into my computer so my recording is available there, also.

Microphones are good for this class of recorder. Recording quality is excellent for talking but not really designed for music. Easy to use once you figure it out or go through the instructions. Battery life is great.

Forget those $70+ voice recorders. This will do everything you probably want it to do, and the option to expand it's storage is definitely a plus. I needed to use this to record a conversation over business matters, and it was able to catch sounds that my phone wouldn't have caught, and also drowned out sounds that are unnecessary (ex: background music) that my phone would not have drowned out. Yes, I know -- weird. But it gets the job done, and it does the job more "professional" than a good phone does. Worth the investment for peace of mind. Btw, it's very easy to hide away and still does a great job at it's intended purpose.

So I purchased this thing to record while in class, but left it in the car, so I never got to use it for its intended purpose. However, I did test it before going to class by placing my iPhone on speakerphone for a lengthy conversation just to learn how to use it. It recorded very well and clear, and was incredibly easy to use. It was easy to also transfer the sound file to the laptop in order to clear space on the recorder, or to listen to the file later for whatever purpose. Probably the coolest feature was a switch that allowed you to cut out background noise on playback. It did an extremely good job of cutting out the traffic that was in the background where I was recording, and still left the actual conversation crystal clear.

I review business performances and this recorder easily fits into my front pocket. The sound is clear and copying the recording to my computer is fast and easy. I play back the recording and transcribe to my evaluation documents. This is a great tool!

My husband has the same recorder and recommended it for my needs in class. It is very easy to use and sound quality is very good even without an external microphone. It is very small and easy to keep in my purse or pocket.

When you're first using this recorder, its a bit jarring. Once you get the hang of it, its really easy to use however. The menus will always revert back to recording mode so there's no issues with getting stuck somewhere. You can listen to recordings via connecting to a desktop/laptop which saves battery life for the recordings. Sound quality is alright from what little testing I could do before handing it off to my sister for school. It should be noted I had it on the default quality setting which was the second lowest quality. She says its helping her so I suppose that's what matters.

This is very easy to use , easy playback and the small size makes it easy to carry around. The only difficulty is in finding what I've already recorded. My iPhone recorder allows me to name each recording and when I turn it on, I see the list of recordings or I can start recording something new. It would be nice if this recorder did the same.

I never loose my auditions class with this digital voice recorder. It's ease, small and plays back speech clearly.

Overall I was looking for a voice recorder to use to record class lectures. This Sony Recorder does the job, delivering clear and sharp playback. When your recordings are ready to be transferred, just hook up the provided USB cable and plug into your computer.

I purchased this for my son who is a college freshman. He broke his right wrist 2 weeks before classes began (he's right handed, of course), so he couldn't take notes. The design is sleek and small, it fit right into his pocket or backpack. Unfortunately, most of the professors in his engineering classes would not permit a recorder, so check with your professors before trying to use.
