they're almost painful

I used these for my computer until I got my headset replaced, and they were very painful to use. I refuse to ever buy on- or in-ear headphones ever again just because of these headphones. They sound fine, although a bit too bass-focused, but the real issue here is comfort over extended use. I can't really tolerate them longer than half an hour..

Bought these for my wife for her birthday. She is nowhere near an audiophile but even she can tell the difference these make. Still better than higher priced "competition."

Not Over the Ear

These headphones are advertised as Over The Ear. They are NOT Over the Ear. Quality of sound is fine, but they are not comfortable (painful) to my ears.

Good but not good as Sony MDR-XB500

In a previous review listed on this site for these headphones, a user said that the sound quality of these headphones is comparable or close to the quality of the Sony MDR-XB500 headphones. THIS SIMPLY IS NOT TRUE. I like these headphones but. the Sony MDR-XB500 BLOW THESE OUT OF THE WATER. Don't get me wrong, I like these, but for the value just go ahead and get the Sony MDR-XB500. They don't look as good, but the sound quality crushes these.

For them being $99, I'm surprised the headphones have such cheap, thin, urethane ear cups. Sony makes a $20 pair of headphones that look similar to these; the two earpieces are comparable. What's weird about these is that they're pretty tight, but they will slip off your head fairly easily with slightest, ahem, headbang.
As far as sound goes, they sound pretty good. If the bass wasn't so overblown, I would have maybe kept them.
Nah, I would have not kept these. The earcups are cheap, they're comfortable, and most sounds are muffled by the bass.

I use these on air every day and are a significant downgrade from the Sony MDR-V700 I used to use. They're smaller, less comfortable, don't sound as good, and the cord is too short. Also, I don't even know how Sony can call these "DJ" headphones when they don't even come with a 1/4" adapter. When is the last time you saw a board with an 1/8" plug?
