(Note: I'm not a DJ. I use these headphones for casual listening.) These headphones are pretty great. I love the fold-in design, and they sound great. I recently used them on a flight and they blocked out surrounding noise quite well. I'm really happy with the purchase.

I tested about 30 pairs of on ear headphones. My reference point were Beats, which my older son has. I was looking for headphones for my younger son, and to be honest, if they had the color I wanted, I was probably going to buy Beats. They didn't, so I started trying out every other headphone I could find. I am not a Sony fan, but these headphones just wow'd me. Their sound and comfort was every bit as good as the Beats I was comparing them to, and they were half the price. Oh... and my son LOVES them

I love the headphones for the sound, easy and comfortable fit on ears. I do not like that the cord from phones to music device connection is not long enough to allow for any good movement.

I went in thinking I would be buying the Bose but after listening to Bose and then these I couldn't believe the sound difference. That being said I believe everyone should try them all out before buying headphones, I've have hearing problems so what sounds great to me might not sound good for someone else. Glad I tried out before buying the Bose.

Except for the Bose, these Sony MDR55's had the best all around sound and mix than all the others at the store-and I tried them all. Give them time to break in. Like others have stated they do need a warm up period. After that you get very pleasing mix and beautiful delineation of high,lows,voice,instruments, etc.. And the bass in "House mixes" and the like, is more than sufficient and does not overpower the music. I am hearing subtle instrumental flourishes in music I have played for years that I never noticed such as intricate drumming flourishes. They are fairly large and the padding is very ample so they may seem warm after awhile, but it's a minor point. I also use the DJ earpiece flip feature to use them as a small computer speaker when needed.

I've been a deejay for nearly 30 years. In that time, I've used countless headphones. These are by far my favorite. I expected them to be good, but they have far exceeded my expectations. The thing that sets them apart from others is their attention to detail. The exact way the earpieces adjust and move in various uses and positions is phenomenal... better than I even know COULD happen. These headphones are a pure joy. I look forward to using them every single gig. They are worth many times their low cost! If you are in the market for deejay headphones, you cannot go wrong with these.

Purchased these after my cat chewed through the cord on my Bose headphones and although they sound pretty good they are certainly not as comfortable on your ears as the Bose are. However they are worth it for the price.

Perfect with phone & iPod. Great sound and comfort

I purchased two sets for Christmas for my children. They were asking for beats head phones . They were trying on and listening to all the different makes and models on display. I was not impressed with the sound of most of them. After trying these Sony dj's I had my children try them and they no longer wanted the beats. I sent them to another part of the store and I snuck off and bought them and hid them in the car. They are a hit because they use them everyday. I borrowed one of their headsets to use at one of their all day track meets one day and was so impressed with them that I am going to buy myself a set.

These Sony headphones are comfortable and sound great. I stood in the store for over an hour trying all the headphones from all the major brands $100-$400 range. Honestly I could not tell the difference in clarity or the loudness of the different headphones. I have used these for over a month with iPad and iPhone and they sound great indoors and outdoors. The jack is small so it fits thru cases on iPhones and iPads and the cord is flat and tangle free. I have thrown these around in everyday use and they have hardly a scratch on them. I'm very satisfied with purchasing these headphones, you will be too!

Love the sound! A lot better than the ear buds I was using before, and they keep out background noise really well. I also like the way they fold up so small; they hardly take up any room in my back pack.

The sound quality is excellent. The only short coming is my ears are too large for the headphone cushions to fit over them. So my ears are pressed against my glasses causing moderate pain and discomfort.

This item is at a great quality price, comfortable, folds easily, and the sound is equivalent to Dre Beats (please take it from me, I am a musician)! I purchased Dre Beats for a tone of money and returned them when I realized I only wasted my money!

I like to hear music with clarity. This is the best one I should say. I wish there is a mic with this price. But cant help.

Good, comfortable headphones at a good price. Wish they had a volume control, but other than that, I'd highly recommend them.

I like the head phones, I had bought 2 of them and my son likes them also. They have good sound to them, and their not that bad on my ears, cause usually head phones hurt your ears or they never stay in and so on. Other than that it was a good purchase. Actually my son has them around his neck or on him every time i see him, he probably sleeps with them on, so I defently know it was a good buy.

I needed some basic headphones to use for everyday purposes. I'm not a big gamer or music person and these were just the right fit for my needs and price range. Thanks Sony.

I love using these headphones for the gym. I was looking for a pair of headphones that fit comfortably, and sounded great, but I didn't want to pay the outrageous prices of Bose or Beats. I found these and they have worked perfectly. The only thing is the padding is not ideal for someone who sweats at the gym but it is not a deal breaker.

These are good quality headphones, and a great value for the money. May need to buy an extension cable to have a little more freedom when dj'ing or mixing live sound.
