Great lens when it's daylight or bright

This is an excellent lens to add-on to a mobile phone -- especially those of you who have an older phone. The pictures are great when it is daylight outdoor or brightly lit indoor. This does not do such a great job when it is dark. Zooming and focusing takes (inordinate amount) some time if you are interfacing with it via the phone's touchscreen.
There are no manual options to dig deeper into the capabilties -- a couple of different automatic mode is all that is available.
What it is: a great zoom lens to add to an iphone ./ smart phone. When zoomed in to the maximum, the pictures tend to be blurry as the handshake effects it greatly.
This lens came with the case, and both items work well together. I end up taking this lens when we go out on a day trip that I do not want to lug my dslr around all day.

Good for beginners but, it does disconnect from the phone after a few minutes of use.

This product is designed for an add on to smartphone. Adding this camera gives your smartphone the ability to have 10x OPTICAL zoom and great picture quality. In that sense, it is a great product.
However, it is an "add-on" for the smartphone, meaning for the full features, your smartphone is necessary and considering the pairing process takes long, it makes the product not so great.
In order to connect the camera to your smartphone you have to reset your smartphone's WiFi to connect to the camera (I'm an iPhone user and didn't get NFC support for the connection and the WiFi was the only option. Maybe the experience might be better or even worse with the NFC). Once it is connected, you could use the special App to connect to the camera and control / view the pictures.
This WiFi setup takes long time, and has to be redone (not necessarily the setting up the WiFi as the setting will be already stored, but finding a "new" WiFi device takes long time anyways). I took it to the zoo while I walking, I turned the camera off - to preserve power and to carry it easily. Whenever I find something to shoot, I have to turn it on, wait for my smartphone to reconnect (takes 1-3 mins) and then could take the shot. Considering you are using smartphone for taking pictures whenever you like in an instance, this totally is not for that purpose.
Burst shots are not possible as the app wouldn't let you shoot it as it has some "processing wait time" between shots. I even turned off the preview / download to smartphone feature, but it was still impossible to take burst shots. (Maybe mechanical button might have worked, but haven't tried that as that wouldn't anyway give me a look on what I'm picturing as no viewfinder.)
If you are trying to add a decent zoom / picture quality to take on your smartphone with instant on feature, I'd have to say I couldn't recommend this item (as that was my purpose of this item, but was not satisfied). For that purpose, I'd say purchase a point-and-shoot camera with WiFi functionality instead. Because anyways, you are adding something to carry on and they definitely don't have the lag of Sony QX10, but have more functionality but have the same WiFi connection that you could use to store / edit / share the photos you've taken from the camera.
I've been talking about the bads too much, but there are also goods to the camera. Because you have the screen separated from the camera, you have the flexibility to what you take. (Of course other WiFi enabled cameras also has this functionality.) And it is really small camera considering it's image quality. There is no camera that is this small, yet powerful.

I bought this to replace the camera on my note 3. Its done its job, but I wish it would shoot quicker t the least. Takes a while to fire up and even snapping pictures can be slow.

This is more of a toy than a camera. It requires a cell phone and the connection can be flaky. I've taken picture without a cellphone and some pictures come out ok and others not

While it's a great idea, it needs more development. I returned this one because it just didn't live up to my expectations, but I may try another one in the future when the technology is a bit better.
It's portable and easy to use, once you finally get it connected. The connection takes forever and can be complicated because it connects via wi-fi, not bluetooth like I had hoped. That means while using the lens, you can't use your wi-fi for anything else.
You're also forced to use their app, which isn't the greatest thing in the world. It's slow to respond, so the delay between the action in front of the lens and the relay to the phone (viewfinder) is too much for action shots.
I do have to say the image quality was good for being an external lens, but honestly I could get comparable quality from my phone's on-board camera.
It was fun to play with but I couldn't justify keeping it when it didn't do anything amazing my current phone camera could not.

The camera takes great pix. Probably good for only 8x10. Anything outside that would probably pixilate excessively. The candidness of the camera makes it great for parties and social get-togethers. we use our camera with the tablet and it makes it very easy to see what we are photographing;.

Is convenient and brings great quality to your smart phone but falls short when you have to guess how to use it. And each picture is slow. Works like a go pro with a zoom.
