I have not used many of the functions on the remote, but this is an upgrade over my previous dvd player which lost use of basic functions such as pausing and forwarding.

As others have noted, slow response to remote button presses. No simple way to zoom. A very basic machine, but it gets the job done.

I have always loved Sony products. This unit doesn't think very fast. Takes almost a minute just to open the drawer. Sometimes doesn't play disks I know to be in good condition until you eject and put disk back in. Very limited options as to picture resolution, etc. Actually I can't find any options to change any settings at all. Once playing, it plays well. Does a good job of remembering your last place on the disk.

When playing home movies and still pictures that were burned on laptop , only still pictures were played. Had to download " Handbrake Program" to make it work. A challenge for a senior citizen, however, Geek Squad service is the best help.

Plays well but seems to only play in a wide screen mode (when I get a chance i will actually read thru the manual to see if there is a way to fix that)!!
