Does what it needs to, plays DVDs. I bought this exact item about 4 years ago, only used it like 5 times and it didn't work. So replaced it. My guess is they just don't last. But time will tell with this one,

I returned it after one month for three reasons. First, it had trouble playing some DVDs that play on my portable DVD player, previous DVD player, and my computer. Second, 90% of the time, the last scene memory did NOT work as claimed. It just restarted the movie from the beginning. Even my cheap portable does this well. Third, no HDMI cable output. I expected more from SONY. I'm buying a Sylvannia SDVD6656 which appears to do all three for $5 less.

Bought for my wife to use for workout videos. Works well for a basic player.Returned it for a blue ray player because it didn't work with the new tv I bought a week later.

The dvd player is a bit slow, but for the price and how infrequently I watch DVD's is just fine - sound quality is much better than on my old DVD player as well

A real, honest to goodness DVD player that works without connecting a WiFi or RJ45 cable into the thing.
It even remembers where you left off when watching a movie.

I bought this as a family Christmas gift. I have owned one for about a year and knew my friends would use it a lot. As it turns out I was right. They had recently bought a LED large screen and needed an HDMI connected DVD player. They have kids and this is a kid friendly device.

Perfect for my simple needs. It arrived promptly and works as advertised. I use it to watch ski movies while I workout on my treadmill or bike trainer. Glad I did not have to buy a more expensive model that had a bunch of features I don't use.
Thanks for the comment as any feedback is very important for us to keep improving; it is true that the device does not include HDMI port and it would have to be connected through video/audio cable. Keep in mind that the Sony DVPSR210P has a slim and compact design, making it easy to fit into most entertainment setups and also can play a variety of disc formats, including DVD, CD, MP3, and JPEG, which allows for audio, video, and image playback from different media types.

It does what I bought it for - to play DVD's. Not high quality but not well made. Was easy enough to install if you could call it that to my television.

Pretty cheap little dvd player. Buttons and remote are tricky. They do not respond each time you push them. Sometimes you have push play two or three times. Annoying. But for the price, I can overlook this.

I thought this was a viable option to replace my dvd player but no, I was wrong. It will not work with newer TV's and has no HDMI cable, just the standard avc. Very disappointed.

I still use a dvd recorder to record and watch shows later in my off time, but I could only watch them in the living room. My new sony dvd player that I bought for the bedroom can play dvd-rw too. Now in my free time I spend more time in the comfort of my bed.
