I needed to replace a DVD player that I've had for over 10 years and wanted something to play my older DVDs and didn't need all the current bells and whistles. The player is perfect. I used HDMI for the set up and it was totally plug and play. The picture quality is great ( I have a newer television). I ordered on line and picked up in the store and loved the option. I highly recommend this player.

Easy to install, reasonable price and came with both the HDMI chord and video/audio chords if you want them. Clear picture. Also came with a remote. Works with our Roku TV.

After 24 years of excellent service, I was reluctant to replace my Sony Trinitron TV and DVD player, but I accepted the fact that it was time to upgrade. I was surprised at the cost of this DVD player as compared to my older unit (10%). I was even more surprised to see the high quality was maintained and not affected by the lower price.

Solid Sony product, easy to use and set-up, especially if you made an HDMI connection. If all you want to do is play DVD's, this player will make you very happy at a very affordable price!

My old one died.... I did not need anything fancy or super high tech.. this does exactly what I want it to do play DVD's.....simple ...compact and no complication.....button are easy to figure out.... I'm no expert on high tech. set up was quick an easy and more importantly plays all my old dvd with no problem.....I'm very happy with my purchase.

I Replaced a highly rated Samsung that never lived up to it's reviews. This Sony player works perfectly. I tried an older favorite movie to watch first to test the picture quality and remote controls response time and was impressed. I am thrilled I made this purchase.

I was reluctant to review my Sony DVD player purchase because I felt old; I mean who's buying DVDs these days. But, since DVDs are still popular, this unit is good for playback. I find for the price, it is easy to use, great playback picture, and the sound is excellent. Still working flawlessly!

Great old style dvd player. Does what it was designed to do

I was afraid that DVD players might no longer be available! But I had two models to pick from. I took the one that was $10 more but it would work with an old TV set that did have HML 1 and HML 2. The salesman explained the features to me and my neighbor installed it. It's working just fine.

Wow, such a great DVD player in a small, compact enclosure! I purchased this player because I needed a player with an HDMI output as the new TV I purchased does not have RCA inputs for L/R audio and yellow video. So this little gem fits my needs perfectly! The HDMI connections work great and the picture is excellent!!! After all, it's a SONY! I'm a happy purchaser!!!

I purchased this to replace a Sony CD/DVD changer that I purchased in 2001. You can’t beat the price and having an HDMI connection is an added bonus. There was no HDMI in 2001! I set it up and played a movie. Everything synched together seamlessly and the picture is much better than the old unit.

This is one great DVD player. The two best features are that it uses an HDMI cable, and that it upscales the signal. A great use for this player is for DVDs made from your old VHS tapes because it gives you the best picture quality possible. It loads fast, and has a great user interface. You cannot beat this unit for quality and price. It is a great choice if you do not use Blu Ray DVDs. Thanks to Best Buy for once again stocking the best items!

easy to set up and compact so it really does not take much room. Great quality !

So far so good, unit performs as expected. Had to switch the sound connection to digital coax because there was no digital optical cable connection, but the sound is as good or better than with the previous player. DVD tray appears a bit flimsy, but as long as one uses the buttons on the unit or the remote it shouldn't be a problem. Price was certainly right at less than $50.
