I needed a new DVD or Blu ray player to replace an old DVD player that stopped working. After reading a ton of reviews about the Blu ray players freezing up and swallowing discs, I decided to get a simple DVD player. Note that this unit is actually quite small, much narrower than standard AV components. Like most DVD/BR players now, there is no timer display on the front of the unit (that is my one gripe, but applies to almost all...). Overall, happy with this inexpensive DVD player that always works.

Excellent High Definition DVD player, even though we are living in the age of 4K. It's a good price and I have 4K content that I view on my 4K television, but difference is barely noticeable between 1080p and 4K. This DVD player gets the job done and is backed by Sony, which in my opinion puts out the best entertainment products

We found the initial set up to be very easy for a couple of "older" senior citizens!
The quality of the videos compared to our older units was nothing less tha spectacular.
The online ordering was only improved by the free sipping.

Only a few months ago I had to purchase a new DVD player to replace my old one broke. I was totally bummed after buying a new TV that the one I just purchased if you months ago would not hook up to the TV because it used the VGA cables. I had to go out and buy a new DVD player that was exclusively HDMI It looks basically like the same one that I bought just a few months ago but this one at least have the HDMI port in the back.
