Simple and straightforward, this DVD player is as close to intuitive to use as they come. HDMI cable attached straight to my HD television, just choose the correct HDMI input (there are three to choose from on my LG TV) and turn it on. Very nice picture and sound, what more do we need?

Great video and great audio. I purchased this unit to replace my broken cd player. (yes, I still listen to cd's) This player will play through skips and scratches that other players would quit on. I'm very happy with this and all of my SONY purchases in my life.

I haven't used it much yet but what I have experienced is a good picture and helpful instructions.

As I had read, the unit is slow (loading, ejecting, etc), but has a great 1080P picture. The remote is not very powerful, but functions ok. The indicators on unit are hard to see, and there is no display on the unit. However, the unit does have a HDMI port, and does display a great picture for a non Blu-Ray unit.

Simple installation, ease of use … reasonably priced

I replaced a Bose DVD player that cost $650. This Sony unit cost $50 and is 10 times the player. Will now use the Bose system for playing the radio, but that's it. The Sony DVD player has all the features I need and works like a charm, very happy with it.
