DVD player is excellent. Small footprint, plays a nice array of digital formats, upconversion is excellent to have. Really improved some of my DVDs. Easy to set up to my TV. While not an issue in my household, the remote is a bit on the small side.

My Sony DVD player works like a charm. Easy to use and plays great on my HD tv. I made a mistake and broke the cover to the door but no problem. Snapped it back on and it still works. Don't be afraid to spend the money and buy this DVD player, worth every penny.

Bought this DVD player because the Blu-ray player of my Sony Home Theater System stopped playing certain DVDs. This player is a no frills DVD player that does the job. I'm guessing the HD upconversion is a must if you have it hooked up to any large flat screen high def TV. The problem is that it does not always automatically run and you sometimes have to eject and re-insert the disc to load or continue the movie. It's a bit annoying but since I have it as a backup player, I can live with it. However, it is a disappointment engineering-wise coming from Sony.

Only plays DVD in this age of high definition disc players, but it is all that is needed. No bluray discs to play. Has the HDMI connection that is necessary and provided it for less cost than the available but more expensive Bluray players. Good DVD and CD player. Have owned it for several months with no issues.

I purchased this DVD because my son has a lot of regular DVD that he watches and for me I liked that is has a hdmi connection and I don't have to deal with the rca connection for the price I looked around and that was what I found

I bought this thinking I needed to upgrade my player and discovered before I opened the box that it was the exact model I already had. So, returned the purchase happy that I had got it right the first time.

I love Sony produces, and got this one for the bedroom. I still have allot of old movies, and the HD upconversion works great. I did get this during a great sale which made this a great buy.

We chose this DVD player-only to replace an old VCR/DVD recorder that had long past it's best use date - 20 years. Since we no longer needed the record features a basic player, with HD Upconversion was the choice. This player does what it is described to do, easily, completely, no learning curve.

Easy to hook up. Works fine. Doesn't have a ight to indicate if it's on or off which is sort of weird. But that doesn't have anything to do with how well it works. Also it's tiny compared to my old one.

This product works very well with our 32 inch Samsung standard (720 p) HD TV. The remote enables fast and easy power button with light, and opens and closes the tray as expected. All I needed was to connect it to the TV via an HDMI cable to view our collection of standard DVDs.
