After my last pair of Sony Earbuds died, I went looking for a replacement. Unfortunately it looks like this is the new version and they have taken a step back in quality. The older version had a longer plastic piece around the earbud and were a good fit. These are more a compact design and are a little loose in the ears. On top of that the cord now carries sound over it so the slightest movement adds noise to whatever you are listening to. This was never a problem with the old pair. I would skip these and look for other models.

These head phones fit poorly. They merely rest inside the ear. The ear bud is not big enough for a snug fit, and so, the head phones constantly fall out of the ear. When they do stay put, the sound quality is okay -- not great -- but about what one would expect for the price. They are definitely not suitable for working out or running.

To think that the over-ear sounds is exceptional, yet this ear-bud version has a lot of lost sound. I do not recommend buying this because there are far better quality. I mean there is no reason to make a product such as this.

I bought these to replace my frayed iPod earbuds. Since these were the ones that came with the iPod, I presumed that they were just generic, entry-level headphones. Not wanting to pay $30 for just the Apple brand name for "generic" headphones, I turned to these Sony Headphones. What a major disappointment.
The sound is thin. You cannot discern any differences in the layers of instruments. Changing the equalizer settings has almost no perceivable affect. There is also a small popping sound in each earbud when the wires move, which makes using them for anything other than a slow walk completely annoying. Don't even think of working out in these. My frayed, unshielded Apple headphones still put out better sound, so I've gone back to those until I can find a suitable replacement.
