  • Great in low light!

    I bought this lens for astrophotography and it works incredibly well! Low light performance is great, it’s incredibly sharp, my only complaint is there is a bit of vignetting in the corners, but I can just crop in slightly on my A7R3 to get rid of that issue.

    I bought this as soon as it came out. I have been using the Viltrox 16 (which is also a great lens) before but this lens will take primary spot. It's lighter, smaller, sharper than its competitors. For landscape and architecture this is a must. I also love the fact the filter size is the same as the other G lens releases in the recent past.

  • Top performing ultra-wide for your Sony full-frame

    Pin-sharp images right from f/1.8 — even wide open, the center is crisp and detailed, and the corners clean up nicely by f/2.8–f/4. Fantastic in low light & for night/astro work — the fast aperture lets me capture stars and low-light scenes without pushing ISO too hard. Very lightweight & compact — at ~300g, it’s easy to carry all day and doesn’t imbalance the camera. Fast, quiet autofocus — ideal for both stills and video; I rarely miss focus. Robust construction — with weather sealing, it holds up well in challenging conditions (dust, moisture, etc.). Excellent for video use — minimal focus breathing, aperture ring that can be de-clicked, and reliable AF performance. Good value for performance — it delivers much of what I expect from high end ultra-wides, without going into “flagship lens” bulk and cost.

    Sony’s 16mm Full Frame lens has better autofocus than other brands when paired with your Sony Camera. Great low light & lighter than other 16mm lenses that are available from reputable manufacturers.

    Using with Sony A7R V for about 3 weeks, this lens is excellent. Very sharp from center to edges. Some distortion as expected but corrected well by Sony in camera. Does great with video, and look forward to doing some astrophotography when the weather cooperates. I have 24-70mm GM II and 70-200mm GM II, and is handles the widest end photography/video I would need nicely.

    This really became my favorite lens. 16mm is really nice for Real estate shots. Autofocus is very reliable and bokeh is nice.
