Not a bad machine

After getting the OS updated and fixing a problem with the included Sony junkware, the machine runs fine. I'm glad I could double the RAM to improve performance.
I mainly purchased this for simple games and home office use. It fit the bill, replacing an HP TouchSmart that had better specs but wasn't portable. I wanted a large "tablet" type PC that I could move around and this fit the bill and the sale price sold me. It's worth it, but don't expect a high-end machine in any all-in-one.
It still amazes me these manufacturers insist on adding their own software to duplicate features Windows already had. Give us a couple of apps, but none of them should deal with managing settings that Windows already has.
Thankfully, the Sony Vaio software isn't that intrusive. But it isn't useful either.
The biggest issue I have is there's not really a good way to transport this device. I use the stand as a handle, but that feels wrong. The fact they don't include the bag is a bit irritating. It would be pretty easy to drop this thing.
But this device is great for general multitasking because of the size. I can use it on the couch, sitting in the bed, or on the counter. I use it several times a week as opposed to maybe once a month of my old PC.
The good: Great screen size, adjustable stand, solid keyboard.
The bad: Sony bloatware, no proper handles, screen glares, weight, video card can't handle even older popular games.

Cool But Lots of Problems

I took a chance buying this for my family, as most refurbished products like this are returned for a reason. Here's what I found out about the product:
First, Windows would not activate because it was "already activated". I had to go through the troubleshooting and call Microsoft to get it activated.
Second, there were several hardware and software issues. For example, the touchscreen would go nuts and lock up like someone was touching it all over. It can be fixed with a reboot but it has happened again since.
The software is terribly configured. All of the VAIO software crashes and many of the Windows updates fail. A few days after I used it the whole computer would no longer reboot. I used the utility to re-install Windows. Then I deleted all of the VAIO software (at least a dozen programs). Then I installed all the updates for Windows and upgraded to Windows 8.1 (it is one of the updates). Afterwards, the computer worked better but realized it couldn't play flash (like youtube videos). Everytime I tried, the graphics driver crashed. I went to Intel's website and downloaded an older version, (yes older) and it fixed the problem for now.
I am watching this computer closely and if any of the problems resurface in the next few weeks I am going to return it. If the problems are solved, it would still make a good home PC.

I had high expectations of this model because of the nice specifications included. So I expected it to be fast and reliable. But it's a disappointment. Especially since it's supposed to be "Geek Squad Certified", it still has a few problems. Network card seems questionable (often times disconnecting and/or disappearing) and Speed of the processor doesn't seem to match it's description. Overall I would say it's an OK model. But not impressed (Both with Geek Squad and Best Buy).

I bought the computer to double as a monitor for our imminent baby's nursery. I suspect it would fill that role really well.

I thought I was getting a good deal, but found out that the product was damaged. It didn't have needed software- driver and broken mouse. Then it cost me more at the store; even for display model. Plus my gas and time which I don't have a lot.

My second sony vaio to crash and completely stop working fully in a 4 month period. 3rd comp with best buy in that time. Literally no power. Just shut off. Twice it's happened and best but this time with only having this comp 32 days total since bought. Was helpful over phone 1800 number but an Asian gentlemen in mission valley store sd. Was again less than helpful and offered me no support in replacing the comp. I loved it when it worked but two now. Something is wrong with this comp and my work doesn't allow me to go more than two days without one. So thanks best buy for again making me feel appreciated. I left it on the geek squad counter top and told them to keep it. I don't need the stress anymore. I can't handle it. My warmest regards to whomever invest in this comp or best buy

I've had my eye on the 20" for a long time and glad the price dropped dramatically. The touch screen is great and works well with Windows 8 and the games my kids like to play. The speakers are on the top and bottom. The bottom speakers can become muted if you set the monitor on a bed spread. I wish they would have put them on the sides. The 4 gigs or RAM is perfect and no need to upgrade. Everything runs smoothly. Having a battery is perfect for taking it from room to room. I get about 90 minutes with heavy usage. That seems fair considering the size and having it at 100 percent brightness. I highly recommend it. Great for the kids and the price is right.

Loving my new all in one Sony tab 20, also what's great about it is that you can move it room room with the battery pack on it. I'm thinking of purchasing a second one for my parents.
