everything has trade off's

I have tried 3 set up's recently and all 3 have their pluses and minuses. most lower cost sound bar systems seem to use lower quality speakers in the bar and, with simple sealed enclosures and use the sub to make up the difference. This system did great with quick bass (something the Bose bass module 500 does not do) drums, mid bass, maybe not rumble the floor sub bass but I would rather give up sub bass for harder hitting bass that this has. I had a hard time dealing with the holes in the frequency response and generally lower quality vocals and highs vs my Bose TV speaker. this system really hated the Halo video game (the title screen has some monks singing and you can barely hear them for some reason) but, with other music this system did great! watched the movie Drumline and it really did well with the drums. anything you would have at a party this does well to and it gets quite loud. you just have to try to make a educated choice and see what characteristics work best for you. this system might work very well for many.

Its setup is easy and the sound is very good. Not as good as an expensive home theatre but well worth the money. I also have a 2.0 soundbar on another sony bravia tv that doesn’t have a sub woofer and this with the subwoofer is definitely better sound especially when playing music

Quality surround sound

It was very clear and loud went perfectly with my 75 inch tv. It made the game sound amazing when we watched it and felt like I was in a movie theater. It was adjustable to be any volume you prefer and still sounded nice at any volume.

The settings and features allow you to tailor your sound to be totally immersive without needing to be loud, which is nice because I’m usually watching tv after everyone in my house has gone to bed, not having to sacrifice sound quality for volume is amazing.

Sony HT-S400 2.1 soundbar with subwoofer

Setup was so easy I thought I missed a step. The wireless subwoofer? Yeah… my neighbors probably know when I’m watching action movies now. The bass hits HARD, and dialogue is finally clear—I don’t need subtitles for everything anymore. Bluetooth works great too, so now it doubles as my weekend music system. Only downside? Now I can’t go back to regular TV sound. It’s ruined me. Overall, if you want your movies louder, clearer, and a little more dramatic (in a good way), this thing is 100% worth it.

It's worth for the price

And I came across this and because of my good experience with Sony in the past, after doing some basic research I bought this one. Didn't got disappointed. Depends on the content quality the output varies but for most of the contents the vocal quality and the bass effect in my experience is perfect for the price. Will recommend this one for anyone looking for a budget friendly soundbar with sub under $200

I used the HDMi cable so the system can be controlled by the TV remote. The only complaint is the inconsistent volume when using different streaming apps. Not a deal breaker by any means. Just something to be aware of.

Great Sound Bar and Subwoofer to add to any TV

We paired it with a 75" TCL and it integrated nicely. IT is basically plug and play and the wireless Sub Woofer paired right up out of box. This systems sounds better than my previous Sony 5.1 surround sound. I like the fact that the Bass can be adjusted separately from the main volume and has a nice Voice Clarifier mode.

I wanted a soundbar with some umph but didnt want to spend a lot. This is the PERFECT soundbar at an affordable price. The bass is great and the detail is amazing. I previewed a lot in the store and wanted to spend closer to 150 but decided to spend the extra 50 to get this instead of another and so glad i did that ! I would have regretted getting the other one for sure !

We're sorry to hear about the occasional Bluetooth connection drops, though. Since you're running into that once a month, you might want to try using an HDMI cable instead of Bluetooth for the connection between your soundbar and your Sony TV.
Connecting with an HDMI cable, specifically the one labeled HDMI ARC on your TV and soundbar, often provides a more stable and higher-quality signal than Bluetooth.
If you'd still prefer to stick with the convenience of Bluetooth, our best recommendation to keep the connection steady is to make sure there aren't any other strong wireless devices (like routers, cordless phones, or microwaves) sitting right between the soundbar and the TV, as those can sometimes cause interference. Also, double-checking that both your TV and soundbar have the latest software updates can sometimes help improve Bluetooth stability!

Plug it in, connect to ARC/eARC port and ensure your TV recognizes it. Sound is really good for small spaces (office, den, bedroom, etc.). Very dependable and easy to use. For the price it's a great value. I bought two of these for two TVs in 12x12 rooms and they provide all the sound, clarity, and punch from the subwoofer you should need for that space.
