I have owned several sound bars before this Sony. Each of the ones I owned before this or more expensive. Despite the cost differences though, I would say this Sony falls right in the middle. That is actually very high praise considering one of them was pretty much top-of-the-line. This Sony does not beat that one, but I would not have expected it to. However it did beat out the other one I had which was several hundred dollars more.
I found set up to be a very simple process, not just for someone who has had sound bars before. It’s much simpler than other types of speaker options since you really just place it in front of your TV, connect and go. What really blew me away with this particular sound bar though was the excellent sound quality, particularly at this price point. The bass module adds a good amount of depth to the overall sound and I have to say, it was a little shocking to me that I enjoyed the sound so much on this. It’s immersive and felt like it filled the whole room. I have a fairly small family room where my tv is located, so maybe that contributes. I can’t say for sure how this would work in a larger space but I would guess it is still pretty impressive.
I think Bluetooth is fairly standard these days on most sound bars, but I still think it’s worth mentioning here. I especially appreciate that you can connect the bass module wirelessly, which gives you far more options on where to place it. This is a great product at a pretty great price. Definitely recommend.

The volume is lousy I have to keep it above 40 to hear it and every once it awhile it pops really loud then goes silent for a few seconds. Wouldn't buy a sony again.

Best Buy sold me this sound bar knowing it was defective waste of my money and don’t trust Best Buy for any thing they sell have to purchase another sound bar.

Unlike a lot of modern sound bars with dtsx or Atmos, this is a fairly barebones soundbar… but that’s the beauty of it. I set this up in my elderly mother’s room. She gets easily confused with the 7.4.2 system in my living room, and really just wants something that makes her bedroom tv sound better. This was really simple to set up, and is easy for her to use. The soundbar, an appletv, and the tv. The soundbar fits perfectly under her tv, and not too big. Everything is easy peasy to use. Audio is crisp, and dialog seems to get extra attention from the processing algorithm, so conversations are easy to follow. The wireless subwoofer is the perfect size to place near a bedside table. It’s more than enough LFE for my mother, but I was able to get some pretty decent bass out of it before it started to warble. For the price, it’s impressive.
TL;DR… if you are looking for a main sound system to rattle the walls, this isn’t it. It’s not even trying to be. This is the perfect soundbar for a spare bedroom or elderly parent who just wants something better than the 5w speakers in the average tv.

I'm blown away by how amazing this Sound Bar really is!!!! The sound quality is just over the top and the deep bass is of great quality. For me, the deeper the bass, the better. I love that loud boom boom!! The louder it gets you can still listen to the sound nice and clear. This Sound Bar along with the Subwoofer will definitely wake the neighbors up. The set up was very easy, just get it out of the box and plug in. It comes with a optical cable but no HDMI cable, I do feel that at this point everyone owns one so that was no issue. The Subwoofer is wireless, making it easy to move around and not having to worry about cables showing all over the place. This Sound Bar makes movies sound more intense and keeps you very well entertain. Listening to music is just as easy as 1,2,3 just turn on your bluetooth and you are all set. Its the best 300 dollars you will spend. I definitely recommend this Sound Bar and SubWoofer to anyone that wants to take their entertaiment to another level.

A fantastic soundbar for your home audio pleasure that won’t break the bank. This 2.1 virtual surround system has a wireless subwoofer that puts out 130w of power and the system offers a total combined 330w of power. You can connect audio via Bluetooth, optical audio, and HDMI ARC. I prefer the ARC connection which allows me to control the audio on the TV as well.
Set up is a snap and the unit includes a handy remote control as well. The remote allows you to control the input and the column. You can mount this on the wall or set it on the stand in front of the tv. It puts out a massive sound from a sleak and minimalist design.
One cool item the front offers OLED Stu’s display.
Music, movies, dialogue all come through in a gorgeous rich sound. I am very impressed. If you are looking for your first sound bar or looking for an upgrade this is definitely worth it.
Bonus if you have certain BRAVIA tvs this will work seamlessly with the TV. No wires.
