I bought this disc drive to use with the PS5 Pro, and it works exactly as advertised. The installation was quick and straightforward — once attached, the console immediately recognized it with no issues. After setup, it feels just like using a standard PS5 with a built-in disc drive. I mainly wanted this so I could play my older physical PS4 and PS5 games and watch Blu-ray discs, and it’s been flawless so far. Disc reading is quiet, loading times are fast, and there haven’t been any errors or disconnects. It blends in well with the console too, so it doesn’t feel like an awkward add-on. The only downside is the price, which feels a bit high for an accessory, but if you already own the Digital Edition and want physical game support, this is really the only official option. Overall, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do and gives you the flexibility of both digital and disc games.

When they announced the PS5 Pro, I was a bit disappointed they were going with the discless design. Sure, I don't buy a lot of physical games anymore, but I like having the option if I see a good deal. This addon allowed me to install a disc drive onto the PS5 Pro and it works great. Best thing about the product though is the ease of installation. I am not always thrilled when I have to do install stuff myself, but this was incredibly easy and I only had to read the instructions once. If you want to add a disc drive to your PS5 Pro (or disc less PS5 Base model) then this is a solid purchase.

Love that you can just plug this in as an add on. box came with everything i need to quickly install and set up. at 79.99 I think it is a little expensive, but it works great and super easy to install

Bought the digital only PS5 but missed being able to use cheaper disks and PS4 games. This was super easy to install and works Perfectly!!

I tried to fix my sons disc drive on his ps5 slim and accidentally broke it. This was the perfect replacement and so easy. Just pop the cover off, lift disc drive out, sit new disc drive in and it's ready to go. It was a very good price compared to paying someone to repair it

I ordered the open box PS5 Slim disc drive after finding out it was available. Delivery was quick and the installation was VERY easy. I’ve watched BluRays, played PS5 games, and enjoyed the complete look. It comes with the new feet as the older ones will not work. It was a great deal. Literally plug and play.

The CD cartridge is a bit on the loud side, and it's also not intuitive with the way you need to face the media side of the CD... you face the media side AWAY from the body of your PS5. Though, there's been no other hiccups with this device.

Easy to install. Works perfect. If any questions, watch a video on YouTube first. It also helps hold the unit upright. My only concern is it should be included with the PlayStation when purchased.

This is a must have for your PS5 Slim or Pro. If you have a ton of physical media. You need this. Super easy to install and only requires a one time sign on for registration. Very quiet and fast drive.

I recently bought the new PS5 Pro, and it does not have a disc drive. I usually buy disc version of video games. A must buy if you need a disc drive for your PS5 Pro. It was easy to install. The drive has a cover plate that comes with it. After installation, the drive and cover looks original manufactured. Before you can play disc on the drive, you will have to connect to the internet to register your disc drive to your console. It was easy, I needed a disc drive for my console, comes with parts I need like the longer footstands and cover. I recommend this item if you still want to stick to playing disc versions of games.

I had no idea that you could upgrade the disc list version of the ps5s especially the pro with this upgrade but once I did I was able to purchase battlefield 6. On disc so I can play it on my PS5 Pro without having to worry about only digital and now I can also use my disc version of Gran Turismo 7. Plus what's the point of having a Blu-ray enabled game system if you can't play your Blu-ray movies if you still have those on it? Overall I would say this was a great upgrade. The price could be a little bit lower but being PlayStation just like any other major company their prices never seem to be that affordable LOL

I am going to start with that I needed to watch a YouTube video on how to properly remove the panels from the PS5 as I felt like I was going to break them. The provided instructions DON'T give an accurate description on how to remove them, like that scene from HP:HBP when they are trying to make the liquid death. Other than that, once the panel is off, the drive is fairly simple to install. After you connected the disc drive, the panel slots in a little easier than the flat panel. Future of gaming? Yea, I built enough PCs to install 5in floppy, 3.5in floppy, CD-RW, HD and Blu-ray drives. PCs have all but phased out disc drives, yea you can still buy them (both interior and exterior), however its getting a little more costly since the "industry" is basically trying to move to "all digital". Consoles are still making options for with and w/o disc drives and this is going to start being the norm for consoles as well. I, for one, prefer to keep disc drives not just for nostalgia reasons but to have a physical copy although that copy seems to be a glorified "key" in some cases. I got this because the PS5 pro comes without a disc drive and I have many hard copies of games that I could not install because, well you probably already know. If you don't, digital and disc games are treated differently, as if they are two separate games. The physical game disc must be in the drive in order to play and it does not matter if you own the digital copy. Sony gave away FF7 remake, I already owned it. When I chose to install the digital version, it was treated as a different version. TLDR: Look up a YouTube video to see the proper way to remove the panels. I got the disc drive, it was easy to install.
