It’s a nice device though using WiFi is pretty spotty at times. When it works though it’s fantastic

I love how comfortable this device is but the lack of bluetooth audio support and the frequently fuzzy video/graphics quality ever since my first post-launch firmware update makes this hard to recommend. If the video quality returns to be like how it was near launch it actually would be easy to recommend even without bluetooth audio support. Since it had been better for my home WiFi setup, I expect it to be improved/restored in future updates which is the main reason I haven't returned the Portal. Until such an update fixes my video quality issues I haven't been using it since the quality is too low lately for me to consider it worth playing.

Great device and does what it's meant for at an okay price. For hardware, I think $200 is well spent for a normal PS5 controller plus a built in 7-8" screen. This combo makes it much nicer to play on this than on my Back Bone paired with my phones. Controller is solid; screen is solid. Do note that.Frame rates are terrible though. With the exact same PS5 setup, my phone paired with the backbone gives me constand 60fps pretty much all the time, while this Portal runs choppy, lots of frame drops, 30 fps ish more than half

It’s been great for gaming away from the tv. As others might have noted there may be some mirco-stutters and occasional loss of connection, but this usually depends on your internet set up. Hard-wiring your ps5 to the modem usually produces the most stable connection. Also, it might just be me but if I’m not holding the ps portal in a very specific way, then my hands get some pretty nasty cramps. I suggest trying to getting hands on with one first before purchasing to make sure it feels comfortable for you.

Its an excellent remote player. I like it better than using my phone or tablet. Sony deciding not to add bluetooth capabilities is a head scratcher but there are ways around it. The screen is vibrant and large enough to enjoy gaming on the go. I've used this with my hotspot and other wifi away from home and aslong as the wifi is strong enough it works great with minor frame drops. Battery life is decent and lasts longer with some minor tweaks to settings. Pricing is where it should be. Overall a great item that does what its intended to do very well, with some minor issues that are easily remedied.

Having little to no time to myself and not being able to get to my man cave the Portal gives me a chance to game from time to time. I hardly notice any difference in graphics and the haptics are just as good as the PS5 controller. The only drawback is the reliance of WiFi, but I knew that going in. There are times when it is very laggy. Also, some spots in my house don’t have great WiFi connectivity. As long as you have a strong WiFi network. You shouldn’t have any problems

100% worth it. I find myself with more game time that I thought I would. I wanted to test it out…but I’m keeping it. There are some network things you gotta do, Ethernet cable to PS5, for better connectivity. But after that….works great!

Perfect for gaming at home while the family uses the TV. The device is the perfect add on for the core ps5 gamer who has to share tv with the family or roommates. Big screen, full style controller with rumble and haptics, portable with good battery. The best experience is achieved by ensuring you have a great wifi router (don’t use the ones that come with your ISP, get a high quality router/mesh network) and your ps5 plugged in via Ethernet. This is will Ensure minimal lag across your home. It’s becoming my favorite way to play. Wife loves that I can play in the bedroom while she sleeps or watches tv. No negatives this far. Hope they make them in different colors!
