This thing is great as long as you have good wifi, yes you can use your phone for remote play but who wants to use your phone when you have a portable ps5

Love this Playstation Portal Remote play my PS5 is in the basement i am on second floor no problems connecting to the system laying in bed having a ball.

I love it, is a good design, feel great in your hands znd is perfect to used it if you are laying down on bed with your significant other or if you got only one tv snd is being use. I wish you could wash media like netflix, or disney plus but as a right now it's not possible. (Note: this is just like an extension of your main console)

If you understand what this device is, and it meets your needs, then it’s a great an on to your PlayStation system. This device is a remote streamer only, needing a WiFi connection to remote play games on your PS5 console. It’s not a gaming system such as the PSP once was. If you can see as the remote playing tool as it is, then you’ll enjoy what it has to offer. As a side note, make sure you have very good WiFi, wherever you try to use it, or it’s useless.

Product is good, I'd prefer if it could power my PS5 on from off instead of just rest mode, and it can take 30 seconds or so to connect to my PS5. There are some latency issues, so don't expect great performance in games that require quick actions or hitting timed skill checks, etc. But it's worth it alone to be able to play anywhere, its a comfortable fit, screen is nice, sound is on par with basic cell phone speakers imo, all in all a good buy.

This was a Father's Day gift for hubs. He was very excited to get it and hasn't put it down. He said that the game play is smooth and it was very easy to setup.

When I first bought this product I quite frankly did not enjoy it due to the connectivity issues. Through my research I’ve discovered that the issues has be corrected and may purchase this again after returning it.

I bought three consoles, two for my children and one for me, and the truth is that it was the best decision. It's an excellent game, I recommend it.

I wanted to like it, but just couldn't. I'm a Dad so the thought of this sounded awesome. However, I always felt like I was getting a way lesser experience playing a PS5 game on the Portal vs on my TV. The lag and latency was always terrible. So bad that when I was playing open world game, the background was so blurry I couldn't tell where I was going. Such as on Star Wars Outlaws. There was a significant delay between the controller and the actually gameplay as well. I wouldn't even bother trying to play COD or something similar. Ultimately, I ended up returning it within 14 days after a few attempts of playing a game. Just not the same experience. I live in town, have a 1gbps download speed with a mesh Wi-Fi system along with my PS5 connected via Ethernet to my router so I know it's not a connectivity issue. Also, I have a Switch OLED and the game literally played the same in handled as on the TV since it's not a "remote player" like the Portal. Maybe I had high expectations, but I would rather wait for a dedicated PlayStation handheld or just get a Switch 2 in my opinion.

Ive loved having this. The screen is great, the controller feels good in your hands. However, there are some hiccups. There is some stuttering and lag at weird times. I have a great eouter, and home network, and I still get the issues. These are things that can be fixed with software updates, but to say itz been flawless isnt the case. However, I recommend purchasing because its been fun to have and it works well 95% of the time.

Nice to be able to take game around the house and not be tied to main tv. I thought this would be a shelf sitter but find myself using it on a regular basis to let the kids use tv or hang out on the porch and play. Great screen smooth controls.

Connection is great to stream. For the price its amazing. Wife and kids can watch tv while i can progress on grinding on any game to platinum.

This is the perfect option for my current lifestyle. I have a son who takes over the tv and I’m able to use my portal while he watches his cartoons. I can play for a decent amount of time without having to worry about the battery life which is also good. I haven’t tried to use it outside of my home, but I believe for my situation it’s being used for what I believe Sony intended to be used for and that’s all I need.

I bought my grandson this Sony-PlayStation Portal Remote Player for his birthday, but specifically to keep him occupied during summer days. My fingers were crossed hoping it will cause him to unplug his game from the TV so my grand daughter and her friends when they come to visit can watch the TV in the den. It worked, yesssss. He loves the versatility of this hand held devise, he's from room to room with no lag from the Wi-Fi.
