I love my PS portal, but just know what it’s uses and limits are before purchasing. When my main tv is in use being able to lay on the couch and play my PS5 is priceless. Also the quality of build is excellent and the screen is immaculate. If you’re on the fence go for it!

We purchased the PlayStation Portal Remote Player, and both my husband and our 8-year-old absolutely love it. What impressed me most is how intuitive it is. Neither of them needed a learning curve. They picked it up and were playing within minutes. The portability is the real game changer. It allows gaming to move off the main TV without sacrificing performance or comfort. The screen is bright and clear, and the controls feel just like a full DualSense controller, which makes the transition seamless. For our family, it’s been the perfect balance of flexibility and quality. It gives them the freedom to play anywhere in the house while keeping the full PlayStation experience intact. If you’re looking for a way to make your PS5 more accessible without compromising on gameplay, this has been a fantastic addition. Five stars.

First time trying this device and its actually quite nice to being able to play the ps5 games in like a handheld mode. You just need good wifi signal and such to avoid blurriness!

Bought the Portal to actually be in the living room and the family while gaming. It's great to relax lying down on the couch. It works great for that function and I can play all my favorite PS5 games (Stellar Blade, Helldivers) seamlessly. The UI animation for connecting to the PS5 is super cool. Small thing but it adds to the premium feeling. No connection issues, including with the Pulse Elite headset. There's stutters here and there but I hardly notice it. Input lag is minimal, and I can perform well in the above mentioned action games. This is definitely one of my best gaming purchases. At $200, it feels like a steal.

Let’s talk about what this thing ISNT to clear confusion. It’s not a standalone game player, and it’s not even the type of device you take with you to play on the train, plane, or even on crappy hotel WiFi. If you want to buy for those reasons, you’ll be disappointed. IF you’re a parent who doesn’t have the TV available in your home network, you want to play while laying in bed, or want to have quick sessions while holding a baby in one arm, then this is the device for you. With a strong local WiFi connection and a wired ps5, you’ll get excellent performance, true controller functionally, and a high fidelity screen. It’s worth it if you’re a member of a relatively slim target market.

I didn’t expect to love this thing as much as I did. It runs shockingly well and way better than I expected a streaming device to. I’m genuinely impressed how well it works with any game I’ve played on it so far, from fps, RPGs and even MMOs (FFXIV). There’s nothing more I can really say about it. It just works. Just keep in mind, as with any and every streaming device, your experience and enjoyment with it will depend on your ISP. If you have a good internet provider and speed, your experience will reflect mine. If your internet isn’t quite up to the task, your experience will most likely not be as robust as mine is.

So at first when i bought this beauty it kept disconnecting and lagging. Time and a few patches later and it rocks! I looked up videos to optimize the peformance and by switching off HDR, and a few other tweaks it works well. Sometimes my orbi router needs a reboot to get this device rolling well, but it does. Its perfect for short gaming sessions for that gamer with a busy life. When it works its pretty awesome. Its just subject to internet bandwidth is low, during peak hours. Disconnects still happen but its nowhere near as bad as when it first launched.

This device became more interesting to me once Sony opened up the cloud. It has great visuals, Sony Sound, and if you have a great internet connection will connect to your PS5 and the cloud. The software has been updated for ease of use but the lack of bluetooth hurts those who may have other devices they would like to connect to the device. Overall a great added peripheral for your PS5 or PRO experience to play anywhere at home or away if you can connect to a great wifi on the road.

Pretty cool handheld, wish it would come with it's own games like a switch. Connectivity with the ps5 isn't always the greatest. And I have premium wifi and internet.

System arrived in excellent conditions. It was a gift for my partner and they absolutely love it. There has not been any issues. The PS Portable connects to your playstation, so you must have a playstation 1st in order to use for best experience. It also connects via infernet so a good connection is mecessary for both the PS and the Portable to play with quality. There is a beta option within but you must have PS+ to use. For us this worked great. Im happy i was able to get it.

I would recommend this to anyone who has a ps5, i wouldnt play call of duty on it just cause of the small lag. I played madden on it and spiderman 2 and it was great. The battery on the portal is great so far.

This was a great impulse buy. I had been debating on getting one for a while and I'm glad I finally did. Some games were just MADE for the Portal (Dave the Diver, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, etc.) This is especially great for those of us who don't have central air conditioning and have to be in the coolest room. The screen is bright and the colors are great and it is super comfortable to hold for those longer gaming sessions. It has some good weight to it, doesn't feel cheaply made or anything. If you are on the fence about the portal, just get it! You won't regret it!

I was very pleased with the screen quality and ease of use of the portal. It is WiFi-dependant, meaning the faster WiFi you have the more seamless the gaming is/less lag. I’m able to play all of my games from anywhere where I have WiFi and I’m very pleased!

Honestly can’t go wrong with the device, does exactly what it says it does flawlessly. What some people don’t understand is this isn’t a stand-alone device but much rather a remote play device. Long as you have the ps5 to pair then you’re good to go. It’s convenient when you just want to relax anywhere without being locked into one area or someone wants to use the TV. Overall, I’ve had no issues with the device and would recommend to someone that is looking for convenience with the ps5
