If you have the PSN streaming feature, this becomes extremely valuable since then you can continue using this independently of the actual Play Station, so you can stream something directly while the PS is being used for something else. The screen is a decent size, and the controller still manages to feel very natural despite the wider grip. I personally found playing racing games difficult just because of how I move my hands, but RPGs especially are super fun to run on this. That being said, my brother returned his purely because he hardly used it. It is somewhat of a niche for this to actively be used. If your usage is still primarily the main console or you don't move around enough to justify this, then it will just gather dust. So I think it's worth checking out your play flow to see if it's actually useful.

I personally like the playstation portal. It’s comfortable to hold and convenient to use around the house especially if you have kids. One downfall is it doesn’t connect to the PlayStation sometimes even when on rest mode. So make sure you got somebody home to restart your PlayStation, in case you can’t connect away from home. I played Spider-Man Miles Morales flawlessly along with Mortal Kombat 1. I can’t wait till they add cloud streaming.

The PS portal surprised me with how much I actually use it. It's perfect for when the TV is in use and it connects fairly easily so I can play even if I can't use the TV I have it hooked up to. It does occasionally struggle to connect due to you have to be fully signed into the console first but most of the time it only takes two or three tries to get it to connect.

Gaming on PS5 anywhere in your house

Gaming on PS5 anywhere in your house! Loving it so far, i haven’t experience any lagging my internet speed (1000mps upload/download). I also owned the backbone the phone screen is just too small for me to enjoy gaming. The vibrant screen delivers an immersive gaming experience. The only downside for me its a bit heavy. It can be a bit burdensome during extended gaming sessions. Overall I love it I wish PlayStation will roll out an update with web browser.

Excellent gaming device. I was able to play it without the PS5 console because I had the PlayStation app. However, I did get the console for my birthday which made it a much better experience.

Much improved with 4.0 Software Update

I purchased the Portal on release day and ended up returning it after a week. Software issues led to lots of stuttering in games, especially in scenes with lots of panning & motion. Control was nearly unplayable for me on the original system software due to this issue. After a major software update (4.0) I heard these issues had been fixed and decided to give it another try. I'm happy to say that my experience is drastically different this time around. Games run near flawlessly and I don't notice any of the original issues that plagued the system on release. Some open world games with lots of foliage (FFVII Rebirth) may still show slight signs of compression when the screen is in motion, but in terms of response times when buttons are pressed it feels really good. If I had to critique the system, I wish the battery lasted longer and that the controller vibration was closer to the PS5 controllers. The vibration feels less precise overall.

Was looking for gift for my son and thought this would be great for traveling. Hook up to hotspot and plays games from the house. Can be a little glitchy but nothing compared to dial up days.

If you’ve already got a PS5 and have a family that likes to use the tv this is very helpful. Play your ps5 anywhere throughout your house as long as you have Wi-Fi. Also with the new cloud update you can use this bad boy on the go! (If you’re a PSplus member)

I have been borderline about the psp for a while. A week ago I was like, what the heck and purchased it. The only problem I had was the graphics. The latest update dropped the other day. When I say game changer, it looks amazing now. Long as you have really good wifi connection your good to go. So if you're thinking about getting it, go ahead.

4 out of 5 because while it is amazing to have a portable ps5 essentially. The downside is the lack of ability to play your games offline without wifi or without the ps5 itself.

It’s a remote player! Lets me be lazy and play things from bed, instead of getting up to go into another room, also convenient when someone else is using the tv the system is connected to.
