It's an amazing portable device that acts as an extension to the PS5. The only issues anyone will have with this device will be attaining good wifi connections while away from your home wifi. If your wifi connection is slow, the game appears grainy, but it's still playable. The speakers are good enough to hear everything from the game. I have no issue this part of the device. My issue is with the fact Sony did not make Bluetooth available to connect to head phones or earbuds of your choice. Is you want ear buds, you will have to pay for the ones sony will release soon that will only work for this device and the PS5 but the catch is the $200 price tag you will have to pay.

Does exactly what I wanted it to. I can play my games while my fiance watches her shows. If you have decent internet, there isnt any lag at all. Ive had a hitch here or there but thats more an internet issue, not something on the Portal. Definitely recommend hardwiring your PS5, helps the experience a lot.

Great at close range, for sharing the TV. Not so great anywhere beyond 10 feet from the console.

Great! YOU DO NOT NEED A PS to play. There are a lot of games.

Screen bigger than anticipated, Image a little blurry when you first connect to your PS5 using remote play, but after that it is nice and sharp. Sound good, both on the device and while using headphones.

Love mine! If you're having latency or a connection issue just look up how to put all your devices on 2.4 Ghz and your Portal on 5Ghz via your router settings (your PS5 should be using ethernet). Something so great about putting down the controller in the living room, and then picking up the Portal in the bedroom and the game didn't skip a beat.

It is a really good item if you spend a lot of time out of the house but the device depends on the WiFi signal on both your PS5 and your portal. If the signal on either are interrupted or poor it doesn’t work well.

What an amazing piece of hardware this is, when I’m traveling and there is wifi present i am gaming, your console has to be left on in rest mode in order to connect to your ps5 at home.

Unfortunately it was as “meh” of a product as I had imagined. Im not shocked to find so may similar disappointing reviews but I am surprised that there are so many positive ones. It’s just a screen for the ps5 gaming console, which is clear with any decent research. Still, my 10 year old and I gave it a shot. Super glitchy, didn’t matter what WiFi the portal was on or the ps5 itself. All WiFi test speeds good. Definitely finicky to set up the right connections at first to be able to turn on the ps5 remotely (chat gpt gave best guidance when working through a Linksys mesh node network that was blocking capability to talk to the base unit). After a week even my son agreed to send it back which says it all. Not a good product. Neat idea maybe kinda? But in execution it fails.

Works like it says. Need to have good wifi connection and have the ps5 conmected to LAN and works perfectly fine. You cant use it with public wifis such as hotels where you have to sign in separately on web. The device itself feels light and comfortable to use for long periods of time. Overall happy with the purchase

I was excited for this. I primarily got this to play my PS5 in different rooms, rather than having to lug the console around. I'm a bit of a tech snob, I play on an OLED and I lean towards performance when given the option. I used it a few times - I have a hardwired PS5 and good wifi (500MB). When I was in the room with the playstation, it was great connectivity but even traveling to other rooms, the image quality did break a little. Never prevented me from playing, but shook my confidence in the device. Otherwise, the 1080 screen was beautiful, and the games I played in 60fps looked great. I love how it felt to hold - extremely comfortable and really helped with the immersion factor. The battery life is pretty bad - maybe 3-4 hours on default settings. Reducing haptic feedback or volume can get you a bit more, but I love the haptic feedback feature and usually like to crank it. That being said, even at full power, the haptics on this device are much more subtle compared to playing on a regular controller. Finally, small thing, but the trackpad button on this is a bit non-intuitive -- touching the screen opens up the trackpad button on screen overlayed atop the game and isn't super easy to work with. At the end of the day, this is a streaming device that your PS5 casts to, and as such provides a diluted experience from the full power of playing on console on a nice TV with haptics cranked up. I love the concept, and it does allow portable play, but for the cost, I personally would rather just save up the extra cash for a second PS5 to be able to play elsewhere.
