⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Love My PS Portal!

I recently purchased the PS Portal from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. From the moment I unboxed it, the design felt sleek, comfortable, and premium. The setup was quick and simple, and within minutes I was streaming my PlayStation games with smooth performance and beautiful visuals. The display is bright and crisp, making every detail in my games pop, and the controls feel just like a DualSense — responsive, comfortable, and immersive with the haptic feedback. I love the freedom it gives me to play my favorite games away from the TV, whether I’m relaxing on the couch, in bed, or even around the house. Best Buy made the whole process super easy — fast shipping, great packaging, and excellent service. Overall, I highly recommend the PS Portal to any PlayStation fan who wants the convenience of remote play without sacrificing quality.

    Good playstation portal

It excels as a high-quality remote play device with comfortable ergonomics and full DualSense controller features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. However, its primary limitations are its lack of Bluetooth audio support, reliance on your PS5 for local streaming, and the fact that it has no local storage and cannot play games offline. Recent updates have added cloud streaming and public Wi-Fi support, making it more versatile, but a reliable internet connection remains critical for a good experience

    Playstation portal

The PlayStation Portal Remote Player offers a satisfactory streaming experience for PlayStation catalog titles; however, its functionality is unreliable when attempting to stream games directly from a PS5 console. The root cause, whether hardware or software-related, remains undetermined, as connection attempts frequently yield inconsistent results irrespective of network conditions.

Just OK if you can't use ethernet for your PS5

First off, I am so sick of the "YoU sHoUlD pLuG yOuR cOnSoLe InTo EtHeRnEt" responses about improving performance with this. We get it, wired is always better; not everyone's setup allows for that! In a world where so many devices are wireless, and Sony expects you to remote play on sometimes crappy wifi, it is shocking to me that in the same home / on the same network you end up with enough latency to make it drop connection or get grainy/laggy. It gets a little better each update, but still kinda lackluster and it is so odd that it - pretty much across the board with people on the same wifi for their console - will perform better outside of your home when they're on separate networks! Sometimes I just want to play in bed or something and it's kinda bad at that. Overall it is a really cool device and when it works, it works well! It's a compelling alternative to other handhelds especially with more recent ones like ROG Ally X and MSI Claw costing $800-900 and continuing to rise with each new handheld! For $200 you can play your games on, what I feel like, is a more ergonomically friendly device and better controller. GOOD: - Controller is great, if you like PS5 controllers - Adaptive triggers work on it! - Screen looks nice - Light weight compared to other handhelds like Steam Deck, Rog Ally, Lenovo Legion Go. Nice alternative here. - Access to your PS library without re-buying games for PC on other handhelds BAD: - Latency can be atrocious, especially on the same network. Often have to reboot this and my PS5 to get a solid connection to play, which is a bit of a known issue/workaround. - Anything competitive or really input lag sensitive starts to feel almost nauseating with delays or mismatch to what you expect - Should allow direct streaming of PS Plus stuff, which initially didn't and won't be fully realized unless they include that. Take out my need for PS device for remote stream games and eliminate a hop! For $200 it's good, but if you have a handheld and want to use something like Chiaki it sadly works better most times on wifi, so I would go that route before buying this. If you have your PS5 on ethernet, let 'er rip and this probably works great!

Amazing. It’s almost as if I have two PS5s. With the recent update that Sony added you now can stream PS5 games with PS Plus Premium membership. I’ve yet to have any lag with my 5G internet in my apartment. It’s well worth the 17.99 a month because they are adding more & more games to the line up which already contains like 100 or so games. You have PS3 games, PS2, just a crazy catalog. It’s nice to be able to lay in bed & play my games & still watch tv etc. The Switch finally has a bit of competition with this. I can’t imagine what the next handheld from Sony will be like. This is definitely a beta for something bigger to come, & with this update it is well worth your 199.99 + tax.

As a customer, the PlayStation Portable delivered an incredible handheld experience. The graphics were outstanding, the game library was diverse and engaging, and the system felt premium and innovative. It provided console-quality entertainment on the go and remains one of my favorite gaming devices.

Great device. Works extremely well as a portable gaming system, however, just make sure you have a strong internet connection. If that is weak the device does glitch, but I blame that more on the internet than the PS Portal device.

This was the remote play experience that I have been wanting. I have zero issues with lag or poor stream quality. Sure you can use your phone/tablet or PC to remote play but this is far more convenient for me. I can simply pick it up and start playing. The battery life is decent and about the same as a dualsense controller. The screen is bright and looks crisp. I was pleasantly surprised with the audio as well. I agree, this device isnt for everyone. But for me its perfect.

A great product when I want to play PlayStation on the living room tv and my girlfriend wants to watch her shows at the same time. Before you buy though the product cast to your PlayStation so you’ll need good internet to use this product.

It runs really well and is very convenient when you share living space with others. I don't like that whenever you want to switch profiles you have to sign completely out and sign back in with the other account. On the Playstation, you can just switch accounts. And i wish there was a function for adjusting the screen display, not just make it brighter or darker. I'd like to be able to adjust the contrast for example.

Fiance and I both got our own portals and it’s come in handy when trying to both game in the same room as we both have our own ps5s. It’s great that now we both can play our own games while watching a show or movie

I was concerned about the Portal's ability to provide a smooth playing experience, considering all I'd read online. In use, I've been very pleased - particularly with the streaming option. Using our home internet (which is fiber but has plenty of other devices connected) streaming quality is smooth and fun. A little slower response for games played remotely from the PS5 but still playable as well. Worth it so far!

I wanted the PS Portal when it initially released. With all the complaints and downfalls prior to the new update I was kind of glad I didn’t buy initially. Now that I can connect to Hotel and other public type networks and stream games I don’t own with cloud gaming (Requires PS Plus Premium) I’m overly satisfied with this device….only thing I wish worked was other media players like Netflix, YouTube that I have on my on PS5. Definitely something to own if you love gaming on the go!!!

This is a very nice device. The only thing i don't like is that I can't use it remotely without the Playstation 5 being on & also don't like that if i am using it, the console itself can't be used for someone else to play a different game. Other than that, it’s really awesome!

It works well on my network that has at least 30 smart home products connected to the Internet at all times. I have my PS5 plugged into Ethernet and have at&ts top internet plan which really only gets me about 170 - 200 mbps on WiFi but it still holds a connection well. The quality of it is really nice and I’ play on it for a few hours at a time while in my home office since my ps5 is in the living room.

Had a trip to Orlando and took it and it was amazing it was functioning well and had no problems with the connection. I recommended leaving your ps5 on rest mode that way if you have the ps app you can turn it on anywhere your at and could use your ps portal.

The PlayStation Portal is a sleek, portable way to stream your PS5 games anywhere with strong Wi-Fi. Its crisp 8-inch screen and full DualSense controls feel premium. However, it lacks Bluetooth audio and only works via remote play—no cloud or native apps. Great for dedicated PS5 users seeking flexibility.
