First of the simplicity of gaming PS5 at the palm of your hand is amazing and the quality is breathtaking they look great on the 1080p screen. Its nice now if i want to game and someone wants to do watch someone on the TV its possible now. The system itself feels great the rumble to the controller is spot on basically a PS5 controller with a screen, I did buy a screen protector and a case to make sure its protected. It was a little slow starting up in the beginning but after that its been a breeze starting up so it might just be when its starting. I would say youll need a good solid internet connection or it will lag a little so keep that in mind.

Was hesitant at first that there would be lag because these work by essentially streaming the game however that proved to be very minor. I was surprised by just how little lag and how well it played. Bought it to take my gaming with me while I'm traveling and it works very well.

If you're a PlayStation enthusiast looking for a way to keep the game going even when you're away from your console, the PlayStation Portal is an absolute must-have. It's seriously fun to use, bringing your PS5 games to life wherever you are with a crisp screen that hits the sweet spot—not too big, not too small, just perfect for handheld gaming. Battery life is impressive too—it holds a charge for hours, which means you can dive deep into your favorite games without worrying about constantly plugging in. And with the addition of cloud play, it’s become an even better value. Whether you’re lounging in bed, hanging out in another room, or on the move with solid Wi-Fi, this thing just works. If you’re already in the PlayStation ecosystem and want a seamless way to enjoy your games outside of the living room, the PlayStation Portal is a no-brainer. It’s easily one of the most fun and practical accessories Sony has released in a while. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this when I bought it but after a few weeks with it I'm glad that I did.

I love my PS5 portable game station because it gives me the freedom to play anywhere and anytime. The graphics are smooth, the games are exciting, and it keeps me entertained on the go. It helps me relax, escape stress, and enjoy my favorite titles without being tied to one place.

I was a little skeptical at first about how much I’d actually use the PlayStation Portal Remote Player, but now I can’t imagine gaming without it! This device has completely changed the way I play, and it’s perfect for those moments when the TV is tied up or I just want to game from the comfort of another room. The setup was super simple—just a quick connection to my PS5, and I was good to go. The gameplay experience is incredibly smooth. The crisp display and responsive controls make it feel just like playing directly on the console. Even games with more demanding inputs handle perfectly, with minimal lag. What really surprised me is how comfortable it is to hold for extended gaming sessions. The design feels well-balanced, and the buttons and triggers have the same premium feel I’ve come to expect from Sony. It’s like having the DualSense controller and a beautiful screen combined in one seamless package. One thing I love is the flexibility it offers. Whether I’m gaming from bed, the kitchen, or even out on the patio, I’ve got my PS5 right there with me. It’s also great for keeping the peace in a shared household—I can still enjoy my games without monopolizing the TV! If you’re on the fence about this, I’d say go for it. The PlayStation Portal Remote Player is an absolute game-changer for any PS5 owner. It’s been worth every penny for the added convenience and freedom it provides. Highly recommend!

I actually love this product. Now i know that its gotten a lot of heat for not being a stand alone device but being that i can play my game from anywhere as long as the wifi is great ill take it. I can say that the portal feels like im playing with one of my ps5 dual sense controllers wirh adaptive triggers and a super led screen in the middle. Honestly its like having a ps5 in the palm of your hand. Just remembered that if the wifi connection isnt strong then you might become frustrated with the lag or the reoccurrence of reconnecting.

Neat toy to take your PS 5 remotely … somewhat

A nice little luxury that is very much a nice-to-have, and not a critical item, but is a handy addition to the PlayStation ecosystem with the right setup. Use case for me is to accommodate some of the same use cases as Switch - take it in handheld mode when you want to do some casual gaming or grinding in a game while having the TV on (or when someone else does). Performance will very much hinge on your Ethernet/Wifi set up (best w/ Ethernet to PlayStation & strong WiFi signal w/ limited barriers between you & router). A twitch shooter might be tough to play remotely or in a far off room (manifesting as visual quality degradation), but a more casual game or grinding in Borderlands can be fine. As always with Sony, there are some quirky design decisions (volume buttons; hidden power button that ALSO needs a PlayStation button that doesn’t function as your main system’s PS button; no haptic press on screen - a virtual trackpad instead that requires new muscle memory to replicate a press on standard pad). BUT - if you’ve need to satisfy the itch to play in random spots in the house (within reason), it’s a neat little toy.

I'm a father of two. My time on the TV is limited to when it's not showing Disney +. If your PS5 is connected to a wired network this device runs flawlessly. For my use case of being able to play my games in my house without using the TV this is perfect. Even considering the price of the PS5 it's still way cheaper than the new Legion GO and the flagship version of the Xbox ROG. It plays incredibly smooth, I haven't noticed a frame rate drop, and only the very rare drop in visual quality

Ill preface my review by saying I have two kids, a wife, and one tv. My gaming time is limited but I try to make an effort to ger some game time in each week because it’s something I love doing. The Playstation Portal works much better than I anticipated. Is it perfect? No, but I’m surprised by the ease of use, comfortability, relatively low input lag and build quality. If you have a PS5, share a tv with your family and have your router connected via ethernet I believe this is a no brainer. The only reason I didn’t rate this 5 stars is because of lack of bluetooth. It’s not a deal breaker by any means as the pros heavily outweigh the cons.

Perfect for gaming at home while the family uses the TV. The device is the perfect add on for the core ps5 gamer who has to share tv with the family or roommates. Big screen, full style controller with rumble and haptics, portable with good battery. The best experience is achieved by ensuring you have a great wifi router (don’t use the ones that come with your ISP, get a high quality router/mesh network) and your ps5 plugged in via Ethernet. This is will Ensure minimal lag across your home. It’s becoming my favorite way to play. Wife loves that I can play in the bedroom while she sleeps or watches tv. No negatives this far. Hope they make them in different colors!

This device is a game-changer for remote play. The DualSense features feel amazing, and the screen is crisp and bright. It's so convenient to play my PS5 games anywhere in the house without needing the TV. If you have a stable Wi-Fi connection, this is a must-have accessory!

i travel a lot for work and it is not always possible to bring the entire console query c me. being able to play playstation exclusives and utilize my playstation 5 while away from home has been an awesome experience. recent updates to this unit has also made it possible to cloud stream the available library that comes included with a PS Plus Premium membership, providing a more consistent quality than remote streaming, also making it so this unit can function as a standalone device without technically needing a PS5 to use, as was the cade prior. i give this unit an 8/10 rating for it's functionality, quality of build, and convenience.

Fits well in my hands, lightweight, good grip, very nice display and graphics, same size of a PS4 controller just cut in half. Add a skin for greater grip and control. Plays really well at home on the internal wifi, plays well when away on a hotel wifi, just don't try to use a phone hot spot unless you don't mind lags in the video and a *massive* drain on your data plan. I tested on my phone with a 10GB data sharing plan and in 10 minutes had half a gig of data used, so the math means 200 minutes, which is about one night's worth of play. Really good value compared to other portable platforms, charges quickly and holds the charge well. Whatever you have on your home console is what you're able to play, even digitally downloaded games.

Great device for remote play. The PlayStation Portal is easy to set up and works smoothly with my PS5. The screen looks great, controls feel just like a DualSense, and it’s perfect for gaming away from the TV. Really convenient and well designed.

Does everything that it promises, and nothing that it doesn't. Screen looks good, but is a little small for some games. WiFi connections are not great, and even with WiFi connected, sometimes will not connect to your PS5.

I originally bought this because I have some games I like to play handheld, as they are easier to see. I love Stardew Valley, but I always feel like I'm squinting at the TV, and this makes it more enjoyable. I was a little worried about hand pain, as I do have hand and wrist issues, but it's surprisingly comfortable to hold and not too heavy. So I have no problem playing for hours at a time. You do need to have your PS5 on in order to use remote play, but they do offer an option of cloud gaming with one of the higher PS Plus subscriptions, so you technically wouldn't even need a PS5 at all if you decided to go for that option. Battery life could be improved, IMO. You get maybe 5 or 6 hours of play on one charge, which could be annoying if you're travelling. Overall, though, it's great.

If you've a PlayStation owner, this is a great addition. With the new firmware update that just recently happened, the update turns the portal into a true handheld gaming device. The 2 thing I don't like is that there is no web browser and it only supports certain Bluetooth earbuds. Sony to be exact. Other than that, I have no regrets in this purchase.

Works like a dream, now I get to actually play my ps5 since my tv is taken over by my 5 year old, and I can take it anywhere with wifi. Waiting for it to link each time is a little annoying but no way a detriment. The graphics are insane!
