Very great product. The graphics are just as good as the actual console. You’re able to access your account on this device without even having your console. The screen itself is so big , it makes my switch look like an iPhone mini . lol This made a great gift ,

Love it! Works perfectly. The screen size is ample, it’s comfortable to hold and great for playing games anywhere within the house when the TV is being used for something else.

Bought this as the TV is being by my wife and kids. The kids have friends over a lot as they use the tv fir shows, movies and video games. The portal is great when the tv is in use and i have some time to play. Tried it on a trip as we are over 400 miles away and it worked great. Have not used it yet with an online mutliplayer game. My ps5 is hardwired for the fastest internet I could get, which I think helps.

For travelers, this system FINALLY makes sense. When first released it just meant you could be in a room your system wasn't to play while others were maybe using the TV or the like. Now for those PS users for the upgraded PS membership you can cloud play certain games anywhere you have wifi. Not all games you own on cloud are yet available but many great ones are. Be advised despite what the store employee told me, you can not pull a game down onto the machine to use in airplane mode or the like. It's wifi cloud play only. With a good connection the games play smoothly. The screen resolution can be a little dark even with the brightness max'ed out. Also you might need to check with a YouTube video to learn the connection steps when trying to get on a hotel or airline wifi to play. If a website is needed to 'activate' a wifi connection there are added steps.
For around $199 (typical intro price) it’s a smart

I recently got the PlayStation Portal Remote Player and I’m impressed overall, especially if you already own a PS5. The build quality is excellent: it feels like the familiar DualSense controller in your hands, with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback that bring the console experience into a more portable form. According to reviewers the controls are virtually no difference between the Portal’s controls and the PlayStation 5’s beloved gamepad.
The 8-inch 1080p screen is crisp and sharp, and when your network is solid the streaming experience is very smooth (no noticeable lag for most games.
That said, there are some caveats this device is not a standalone portable console it primarily works as a remote-player for your PS5 via WiFi. Some reviews point out that connectivity (especially WiFi strength router setup is key, and features like Bluetooth for wireless headphones are missing.
In short if you want to play PS5 games in another room (or on the go, given you can connect remotely) and you already have the PS5 ecosystem, this is a great complement. If you were expecting a full handheld with its own library or lots of extra features, you might be a bit disappointed.

Works perfectly on my home WiFi. Took about 15 minutes to get it updated and connected then it was game time. Battery lasts about 3 hours but that may vary. Fast shipping I ordered it on a Friday and had it by Monday.

This is a good product, but you need to have an extremely great internet service to use it. So, basically, you have to play next to your router what limited the places where you can use it.

The portal is a great way to play your ps5 around the house. It gives the flexibility of a handheld around your house. The only downside the battery life. It only last 3-4 hours and then takes a minute to recharge.
Using the Portal much more than i thought i ever w

I was very very hesitant to get the Portal, i wasnt sure i would use it enough to make it worth it, nor was i sure if it worked well due to a lot of reviews saying its laggy and takes a lot of time to connect. I am pleased to say it is SO worth it!
The over all build of the portal is great, at first glance i thought it looked fragile and cheaply made, but it is much sturdier than i thought. The controller grips feel exactly the same as the duelsense controllers, just with slightly smaller control sticks.
Lets just say my internet at my house is patchy at best. My provider is very unreliable but its the only option in my area. With that being said in my house i have no connection issues with the portal and very little lag (only stutters if we have a bunch of devices on the wifi at once and "high traffic times" when close neighbors' signals jam up), but that was maybe one or two nights. I also had issues getting disconnected from the wifi one night but im chalking that up to the service provider and not the portal!
Over all i would say, if you would like to play PS5 as your tv is taken up by a significant other or you want to watch something as you game, the portal is for you. If you want to go lay in bed and play a bit before falling asleep, its for you. If you travel (to places with wifi) its for you. I didnt think id use it as much as i have, i originally thought "oh its not for me", but i have found myself making excuses to use the Portal. I have run a variety of games on it, from simple games like PS classic games and Stardew Valley, to more demanding games like FF7 rebirth demo, God of War Ragnorok, etc. All have worked perfectly.
The screen is bright and looks great even for just an lcd. One down point is the fact that the lowest volume setting on it is still VERY loud, so if im playing in bed and my fiancee wants to read, i end up needing headphones, which you can use a 3.5mm wired headphones, but not bluetooth!
If you have the means to get one and are able to snag one as its in stock, do it! Its very worth it for even casual gamers!

The PS Portal is, by a lot of definitions, a solid device. It’s essentially built like a dualsense with a tablet sandwiched in between the sides and is largely comfortable to use. The big notice with this thing is that Sony’s protocol for connecting to your PS5 is…imperfect to say the least. Bottom line, I find this thing works great for stuff like sports games, card games, some indie games, or other types of games that don’t super heavily rely on precision timing. The input delay introduced through remote play is passable, but I wouldn’t dare use it to play any FPS or even some more difficult platformers. All in all, it has its uses, and if your use case aligns with the mentioned scenarios above, I’d recommend it.

Got the portal before the update, had to connect to the console after every session. After the update, you are able to stream games instead of having to connect to the console, so that makes it alot better when playing on the go.

I am very happy with this purchase, it came in 2 days and works great. It sometimes takes a minute to start but I can play all of my games anywhere in my house. No connection issues.

The PlayStation Portal is a sleek $199 handheld designed for streaming your PS5 games over Wi-Fi. It features a crisp 8” 1080p LCD screen and full DualSense controls—including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback—built right into the device. While it doesn’t run games locally and requires a PS5 and stable internet, it delivers smooth, low-latency remote play with excellent image quality. Battery life is around 4–5 hours, and while it lacks Bluetooth audio, it supports wired headphones and Sony’s PS Link. If you want to keep gaming when someone else is using the TV, the Portal is a convenient, well-made companion.
