The PlayStation Portal is the best controller for the PS5 if you’re on the go. In my experience it’s best used with your phone’s mobile hotspot and secondary on guest wifi. It is NOT a handheld console. It is a Controller with a screen. If you have a PlayStation 5 and your library is in it then this device may be for you. It is a streamlined option if you don’t own a tablet to use the PS Remote Play App with. If you already own a Steam Deck or iPad or a similar tablet then the Portal isn’t likely for you.

First off, I got this open box. It was a little dirty and the USB wire was missing. Once I cleaned it, it was in great condition. The device itself does what it was meant to do but not without its hiccups. The PS5 needs to be wired for a satisfying experience. Also, I had to do port forwarding in order to connect to it outside of my home. With that done, I still occasionally have PS5 connection issues. It's usually remedied by disconnecting and reconnecting the Portal or manually starting up the PS5 (which kinda defeats the purpose of remote play). In the end, I'm happy with it. I'm actually playing more of my PS+ games library due to this thing. I see that as a win.

The PlayStation Portal has been a game-changer for me. It works flawlessly, provided you have a solid WiFi connection. It's ideal for navigating the chaos of my household when the TV is occupied, and gaming in bed is now a breeze. The device has a premium feel, and the controller mirrors the excellence of the PS5. Highly recommended for its versatility and performance.

I am so excited for what Sony has in store for the next generation of portable devices. The portal is an amazing product, especially since they added their beta cloud streaming feature. It is so easy to hop on the game for a quick little hour session without having to power up the whole system. Super easy for people who don’t have a lot of time and just wanna play for a quick 30 minutes or so, I would definitely recommend this product. The price point is reasonable too especially if you get an out of the box one.

Great handheld device. Just understand that you need good WiFi or hardwire your PS5 to your router via Ethernet to really see it shine in remote play. Cloud streaming with the top tier of Ps plus is a fantastic alternative, but you still want good WiFi for that as well.

I was skeptical about buying the portal at first but once I got it and set it up I absolutely loved it!! I take my portal with me almost everywhere I go. The PlayStation portal really comes in handy when you not able to game with your console right away. To anyone who thinking about purchasing it I say go for it!!

Love my portal great for the dad that likes to game while the wife’s watching her shows. perfect for the time kill between the kids naps . i don't do much travel gaming so it stays home i do have some issues with wifi if im not home but that’s expected. overall great accessory !

Very useful for wanting to play the game without having to setup in a chair. Can take it anywhere, very convenient.

If you are a dad who shares the TV you game on with your kids/wife; this is a must. If you don’t want to constantly have to be sitting in front of your tv and monitor to play your PS5 game and want to lay in bed or play on the couch, then it is also a must. I can’t begin to say how awesome having the PlayStation Portal has been, my backlog of games are starting to get played, I’m enjoying my time playing now because I can pick it up at any time to continue where I left of and not worry about my wife giving me that look like I’m about to go in the other room and be by myself. It’s feel so play more and enjoy playing more with this device. I have had a backbone to do essentially the same thing however it is very small and hurts my hand after a while if you have bigger hands like me and if you are someone that has one this is 100% better in every way. You have the dual sense controllers which are great, along with all the haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers the controller has to offer. Plus that 8 inch LCD screen almost looks like an Oled and it is beautiful to play on. I can’t recommend this product enough if you are in the fence or already have a backbone and looking to upgrade

Amazing what the portal can do once you know what it is for. With the new updates and the ability to cloud streaming its a must have for PS5 owners

This device is ABSOLUTELY phenomenal! I highly recommend it! The fact that I can take this device anywhere wifi-wise is pretty great, and I can basically play my PS5 anywhere. Annnnnd-! What's even cooler, is that if I want to watch television AND play video games, I can just play on my portal and use the television screen as normal.

After the newest update allowing game streaming, this is a must-have for those who travel and have access to good internet speeds. I have 1k Gbps internet at home, and it does not lag at all. Picture quality is amazing! The sound is really good, but it has a 35mm input if you have headphones, so you can save on buying Sony's dedicated accessory headsets. If you don't like it, return it. Then, someone else can get an open box and save $50 just like me!

This Playstation Portal is way better than i thought. This was definitely the best gaming accessory that i have bought. I untilize this system everyday when the kids or wife are on the TV. Has been running butter smooth for me through wifi compared to a phone or tablet or even a computer. Haptic feedback is amazing and the battery life is pretty decent if you shut off the controller lights and turn off mic. The system charges fairly quick and love how when you plug in charger its in a area where the cord cant really become damaged. All around, the system was worth 199 and definitely see sony going in the right direction for portable. I difinetly suggest you guys trying this system out for yourself instead of listening to the people out there that conpares this to backbone+phone/tablet. The remote play quality on the system is way better than any other hardware. Portal has all of them beat!!!
