Like the title and many other reviews have stated, the Playstation Portal is absolutely amazing if your internet is blazing fast. You'll get a crisp 1080p and for single player games it's an absolute joy to play. HOWEVER, most people don't have wired gigabyte internet, in fact my area (major city on the west coast) doesn't even have a provider offer those internet speeds you see from youtubers. As a result, out of an hour of gameplay, i'm probably disconnecting twice and most of my gameplay is around 780p while having 2-3 times where the quality drops down to 144p which is aweful. While that issue is down to my internet, Playstation isn't pushing out enough updates to fix the latency issue either. If your internet is fast I'd recommend otherwise, no.

Connects to my playstation like butter, feels good to play anywhere in my house. Only slight lag. Would recommend to anyone who just wants to hang in different rooms or if you have that limited number of tvs and want to play while someone is watching something else.

Theres not too much latency but as long as you have decent wifi, screen quality is also impresive for it toniust be 1080 suprisingly they just didn’t immediately drop it as just an OLED but its great still. Analogs may take a little getting used too they feel a bit slicker but some foam bumpers should do the trick.

The concept behind this device is truly remarkable, offering an impressive display and a tactile user experience that is second to none. However, its functionality falls short due to a critical limitation: the inability to play the PlayStation Portal. This flaw is akin to owning a Lamborghini devoid of an engine — visually striking, yet fundamentally lacking in purpose. Additionally, the device's Wi-Fi capabilities are subpar. Despite having a high-speed internet connection at home, I experienced significant lag and poor image quality, rendering the experience frustrating. Regrettably, I had to return the device after just an hour of use due to these issues. It's a fantastic concept with immense potential, and I sincerely hope future iterations will include enhanced features like Wi-Fi 6 to fully realize its promise.

Honestly it got wayyyy better and smoother after the update the delay is now negligible and a lot of the functionality issues are nonexistent, solid buy

This product is amazing it is great for the holidays! It pairs perfectly with the ps5 and can be used anywhere in the house I love it! I would highly recommend it only down side is you need to be connected to a PlayStation 5 to use it, but overall a solid product with great battery life! It’s also way more worth it than the backbone that requires a phone and uses a much smaller display!

When the PS Portal first got announced I knew I had to have it! Best Buy went live with having them in stock in November 2023 and I was able to snag one up! I’ve never had this much fun with remote play! I can lie down, play on the couch while watching tv too, and or play outside. I’m happy with my purchase.

I love my portal it helps me spend time with my wife while I play the game I can b laying next to her in bed or what ever but I don't have to b stuck in front of the tv to play the game love my portal

This is a great portable handheld accessory for the PS5. The game streaming from the console works great with very little lag and the 8 inch HD screen looks amazing. It's great being able to play PS5 games away from the TV in another part of the house like the basement, backyard or in bed. This is a must have accessory for remote play.

Surprisingly very fun, great graphics, easy-to-use, must have a good internet connection, the only downside are the thumbs, too small for me, hopefully a 3rd party will do an attachment

The portal remote works as intended when it comes to playing games. It will occasionally have hiccups when playing as far as frame rates, therefore I would not recommend it for fast action pace games. Another downside to it is that it won't play any media apps, only games.

I will recommend this if you are away from home or simply dont want to sit infront of the tv playing the game and want to lay down online play is lagging but i play offline games and it works fine for me sometimes often disconnect i will say its worth the $200. Get it if you have good wifi

Is it worth the buy….YES! Does it do everything we all asked for NO! But given that said it handles well. If you have good internet it will provide the ability to be all over the house. Now I am told if you have a hotspot on phone it’ll work with that too. Haven’t tried it yet. But will. FYI- get ready for EA college Sports 2025- the whole reason I bought one.

It's ideal for navigating the chaos of my household when the TV is occupied, and gaming in bed is now a breeze. The device has a premium feel, and the controller mirrors the excellence of the PS5. I was skeptical about buying the portal at first but once I got it and set it up I absolutely loved it!! I take my portal with me almost everywhere I go. The PlayStation portal really comes in handy when you not able to game with your console right away. To anyone who thinking about purchasing it I say go for it!!

Really cool device that allows me to play PS5 games in bed while the wife hogs the tv. The only negative is that sometimes my crappy internet isn’t performing well enough to play but most of the time it works flawlessly .

Love my portal great for the dad that likes to game while the wife’s watching her shows. perfect for the time kill between the kids naps . i don't do much travel gaming so it stays home i do have some issues with wifi if im not home but that’s expected. overall great accessory !

Like alot of others i too was on the fence about getting the portal. When i finally decided to get one after all the good/bad things ive heard about it i was not disappointed. I use it everyday and it works perfectly me no problems but others have a different experience. Its still absolutely worth getting.

Move to whatever room you want or whoever’s house you want and play your games. As long as you have a good enough Wifi connection at home and Wifi/hotspot on your phone you can play your digital games or what disc is currently in your console. The PlayStation Portal is worth the money especially if you can’t always sit infront of your tv. Buy it!!
