With the new update the PS Portal has so many features and uses to make the most out of it. Only con is it requires like super stable internet connection but other than that it runs smooth.

I love it. game play is not glitchy at all, loads as fast as my PS5. I am a little disappointed that if you travel with it you have to use wired headphones, as there is no BT capability. I would also recommend getting a screen protector and silicone case if you purchase.

Let me start with saying this, I do really like this new handheld by Sony but I can't say it's just yet perfect. There are still some flaws to it but for what it is and the cost it's great.
This system does not have any internal memory nor any port to allow you to add a memory card to it, which is its major flaw, but it's not one that hinders play. The PS Portal plays streaming games and that's it.
Depending on your internet signal and your PS Plus subscription plan, you can have a lot of fun with this handheld. To get the most out of the system, you will need a good/steady wireless signal for the internet and the stronger the better. For the games, if you have the premium plan then you will get access to both your Cloud games as well as a bunch of the streaming games. Though the premium is the most expensive plan at $160 but if you are comparing the costs of the other handhelds that are double to triple the cost of the PS Portal for just the system, then the cost of the Portal plus the premium about equals out to the cost of the other handheld systems.
I'm hoping that since the streaming is a new thing for the PS Portal that Sony will be adding more to it in the coming year but right now it's great for causal play. The system is not too large, though after getting used to the grips, which seem larger than the PS5 controller, I would like a larger monitor. The quality is really sharp and clear, the audio is great, not too loud but loud enough to hear and not be disturbing. I would like an internal memory option so I could have that backup memory just in case there's no internet or poor signal. So far I haven't had any real problems playing the games. There's been a few times when the signal was weak but I was also inside a small closed off room that's used as a audio recording booth, so, the signal is weak.
I think if Sony added some internal memory or a slot for a card, give the monitor a larger screen size, and offered a way to watch movies on it without needing to be logged into you PS5, then the PS Portal would be the best handheld in my opinion. Right now, it's been a lot of fun for me, I've played more new games on the Portal than I have on my PS5.

Its good for what it is and only for what its meant for if you havent really paid attention to it then read up before you finally are able to get one no it does not have its own games it does not have a browser it cant play music or videos it cant download anything and does not have Bluetooth BUT it does enhance the remote play experience feels better then using a backbone it has ergonomics of an actual controller with a mini tablet in the middle and there is less lag when compared to using my phone its just not the same when you clip your phone to a holder attached to a controller you have that top weight but with the portal its like a feather it is a bit awkward to carry around there arent any cases for these things yet so you gotta be careful yes its overpriced i think 150 wouldve been good and yes you waste less with a gamesir galileo G8 or a backbone or a razer kishi or a controller clip but the experience isnt the same if you really want this be patient keep looking DO NOT buy it for more then 220 dont go to fb and meet up somone selling it for 300 keep looking and be patient

Have the original but a friend of mine wanted it and I wanted the back one. Sold my white one and got the black one. Good product. Love being able to let the wife watch what ever reality show she wants while I get to game. Do not regret getting this product.

This is a great accessory at great price. Perfect screen. Love the wifi principle of being able to play stream games on the go. Love taking it on trips

I really love this device! Screen is awesome and battery life is impressive. Only downside is not being able to connect to my AirPod pros. Spending another 200$ for proprietary headphones seems a bit much.

I love being able to play my PS5 in any room of the house while the main TV is occupied. It’s easy to setup and looks great. Make sure your WiFi has the juice to run this.
One negative is the inability to connect wireless headphones that are not made by Sony, though you can connect wired headphones.

I was reluctant in getting this device since you can basically do the same thing with any mobile device - but there’s something about having a dedicated unit with familiar dual sense controls/feedback that makes it worth while. I’ve been using my iPad pro paired with a dual sense for remote play and this portal is much better. I’m clearing a lot of my backlog with this thing. Games look awesome, haptic feedbak is just like the dualsense. I would love it if it was more than just a ‘remote play’ device or if you could pair any set of earbuds, but those small complaints aside, this thing rocks. There’s finally enough availability so if you’re on the fence (like I was) so go get yours!

Honestly, one of the best things (a bit over priced for what it has) to use alongside your PlayStation. It's so nice to move around the house and play like I would a handheld but having all the processing offloaded to your console - meaning long battery life too! The WiFi is a bit finicky; I can be 3-5ft away from an access point and get a warning about WiFi signal.

My only qualm with this device is it should work smoothly right out of the box without having to go through tons of tweaks. The initial impression while setting up this device was really bad. Couldn't get the timezone correctly even though connected to wifi+internet. Had to manually adjust the time and date to get through. Then there were some additional tweaks needed to actually get it connected to PS5. Then comes the lag part, for which needed to bit of googling to figure all the adjustments to get rid of lags and then finally you could get to the good part. Excellent ergonomics, beautiful screen. Gameplay is enjoyable. There is still a bit of lag particularly when you need swift and precise movements. I am hoping that such things would be fixed in the future versions of the device updates. I would definitely recommend if you have PS5 and not able to get hold of the TV screen for whatever reasons.

Great screen, amazing image quality and little lag when connection is solid. Reccomend plugging PS5 directly into your router via ethernet for best connection.

I got what I have expected from it thus far. Set up was pretty smooth and runs great with my PS5 over my wifi. Having my games portable within my home has been amazing as i can’t sit and play as a Dad of 2 energetic rapscalions. Any quiet space has been turned into my personal gaming time.

Since purchasing my PS Portal, they have only made it better! Cloud streaming has made this a handheld anyone with or with or without PlayStation should buy. All you need is a PlayStation account and a yearning to play games on the go!

I decided to get this learning that they've added the cloud streaming update. It's still in BETA so the cloud library isn't too impressive. Let's talk about a few things.
Connectivity - I have a pretty strong wifi signal at home. Playing in the living room using remote play with the PS5 within 6 feet, there is little to no lag & not too much graphical flaw. I have also connected using hotspot from my phone away from home. Though not perfect, it works. There is a slight lag and graphics were choppy (connecting to PS5), so i'd recommend maybe just a 2D RPG.
I haven't had a chance to connect it at another location outside my home using a strong wifi signal yet, so I will update my review in the future.
Bluetooth connectivity (headphone/earphone options)
- This is a negative for me. You have the option to use a 3mm input jack or ONLY the Playstation PULSE earbuds or PULSE headphones. I have the pulse 3d and was disapointed that i am limited to connecting that using a 3mm jack only to the system.
