Honestly I was surprised I was even able to get one! I was on the website at 12am & was seeing it was unavailable, then around 12:20 got on the website again & it was available to add to cart! As soon as I placed my order, I refreshed the page and it was then unavailable! I was so happy I was able to get one! Overall, the Playstation Portal is great, love how big the screen is & super easy to connect to my PS5. There is a bit of a lag on it, don’t know why but not too much of a difference.

Connectivity isn’t the best through the device itself but overall it’s a great concept and love how Sony added the cloud streaming option now but you still need internet requirements for both cloud streaming and console mirroring.

This device is great to have on the go. Works best if you subscribe to Playstation premium and have a MYFI or Hotspot that gives off enough speeds to stream.

Works great around the house, but I've tried traveling with it and the wifi couldn't keep up. Wouldn't recommend unless you're gonna play games at home in a different location from your setup.

I thoroughly enjoy using the PlayStation Portal. I bought it to be able to play while my wife and son watch TV in our living room. Single player games seem to be fine, a little bit of input lag in MLB the show when pitching and swinging. I have not tried FPS games yet. This may not be the best option for competitive games, but if you want to get a gaming session in and you're trying not to always alienate yourself from your family. This is a great option.

I’ve really enjoyed the Portal thus far. I had to really be on point when trying to purchase the last couple months with people scalping the hell out of them which is unfortunate for those who are truly interested.
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
Portability - not the smallest device but it’s small enough to serve as something you can bring anywhere
Comfort - Dual Sense is one of the best parts of this build. It looks weird, I will not deny that. But it’s so practical you wonder why others haven’t done this.
Screen size is about perfect. Quality is what you’d expect from Sony. Brightness is VERY bright and the color saturation is good.
Speakers are actually pretty good for a portable. Louder than I had expected
I have not experienced any issues with packet loss while playing on my home network. I don’t have anything special for wireless.
Cons:
The lack of first party accessories. I know Sony came out and listed this as more of an experimental product, but I’m a little surprised they didn’t take advantage of providing 1st party accessories. The stuff on Amazon is fine and works (cases and screen protectors), but it would have been nice to have from Sony.
Cost for some may steer them to the backbone.. and although the backbone is a fine product, it doesn’t compare to this for the overall experience. And you don’t have to give up your phone.
Overall for what Sony advertises this product as, it fits the bill perfectly. I don’t think it’s for everyone. People who don’t have a dedicated gaming space like me and often times are splitting the tv amongst your family, this is the closest you can get to perfect. Highly recommended.. until the Vita 2 comes out. One can hope!

Its a nice big high def screen that is plenty bright. Its connectivity is excellent and it makes playing games anywhere in the house convenient.
Having kids and a wife, sometimes the tv isnt available so this makes a good alternatives.

This device is perfect for Dads or people with a partner. I find that this device solves a very particular but very real problem. Let’s say you want to use your PS5 but the TV is being used by someone else: your partner, kids, in-laws etc. You could theoretically put a tv in another room and play your PS5 there. Maybe even in your office if you have one. Well think again pal, god-forbid you’re not in the living room with any of the aforementioned people as the TV blares another episode of Bake Off or 90 day fiance. All you wanna do is play Diablo IV, or Monster Hunter, or Spider-Man 2 but you can’t hog the TV for your silly little video games when you could be enjoying every one else’s company. Even on nights where its just you and one other person, your presence on the couch is more important than the sweet sweet loot you could be getting in your preferred digital world. Well if any of that sounds like you, wallow no more. The PSP lets you enjoy all that your PS5 offers without having to sacrifice your presence in the family room. Now instead of hearing, “Why dont you spend more time with us?” or “I don’t care what we watch, as long as you’re here.” Prepare yourself for “Hey, are you listening?”, “Hey can you pause that?”, and my new favorite, “could you turn it down a bit?” No longer am I staying up late to play games only to wake up a few hours later in a groggy nightmarish state. No longer am i sacrificing quality hang-out time in the living room worh everyone in my life. No longer am i the seemingly antisocial gamer that society perceives me to be. I can finally be with the people i love all while playing my playstation games and not feel bad about it! My only complaint is that it occasionally drops frames and i have an ideal internet set up. Otherwise, its a near daily use for me. It’s convenient, light, and fun to use.

My 1st time using the PlayStation Porter and overall it was a good experience. The games I play have maps to open and mounts to call, and the learning curve to find those options was challenging,

I bought this for my girlfriend when she comes over to visit me, and she isn't left bored while I play my Xbox. so far, she says it's the best gift she has ever gotten from someone.

I love it — definitely worth it for travel or gaming on the go. Even if you don’t own a PS5, you can still use it by getting PlayStation Plus. It’s honestly a must-have.
